August 30, 2021 – Reader Tips

Tonight we present … well, we’re honestly not sure what this is but it’s definitely captivating!

Update: The song is new but the video actually comes from a 1969 Bob Fosse production called Sweet Charity, featuring Shirley MacLaine.  Here’s the original video.  The lead dancer was Suzanne Charney.

Your less obscure tips are most welcome.

    1. Police are “investigating a suspicious death”. If there was a shootout and some dude lost, it doesn’t seem that “suspicious”. That article is written so weirdly it’s like they’re trying not to make a big deal out of it for some reason.

      1. If I remember correctly, Duggan became a preferred neighborhood for Muslims immigrating to Edmonton. But that was about 15 years ago. I could be wrong.

      2. Just some idle youtes playing. Move along, nothing to see, move along…

B A, perhaps it’s time to find a more rural neighborhood if you can?

        1. I’m definitely considering leaving Edmonton, but I’d like to stay in the vicinity because, at my age, I would rather be close to a place that has decent medical facilities. Where I am right now, I’m only a short walk and a train ride away from an emergency ward.

Another reason I’m thinking of getting out is that, thanks to LED street lighting and living near a neon palace, I have a hard time getting on the air due to the background interference. That might not be a problem in an outlying area.

  1. Oh no, what will we do?

“The great Toronto exodus continues—with Vancouver, Calgary, and Halifax among the relocation destinations.

Lured by jobs, cheaper accommodation, better access to nature, and safer streets, Toronto’s artists and culture workers are leaving the province.”

    https://www.straight.com/news/great-toronto-exodus-continues-with-vancouver-calgary-and-halifax-among-destinations

WTF is “culture worker”? Is it like sex worker but more expensive (to taxpayers certainly)?

    1. The same thing’s happening in B. C. Lotuslanders are escaping from the lower mainland and moving to elsewhere in the province.

While I grew up in Fort St. John, Edmonton had greater influence than the Vancouver area. In the years since I moved away after finishing my B. Sc., I noticed that a large number of people who now in the Peace River block came from near the coast.

Unfortunately, many of them didn’t leave their warped way of thinking behind.

      1. Yep that was my first thought too. “You broke it you own it” should be the rule,

        1. One thing I’ve noticed now is that people in FSJ are more compliant with whatever Victoria wants. While I was growing up, they tended to be somewhat defiant.

          1. Yup. Her son Dan was the editor of the Alaska Highway News for decades. It used to be a pretty decent paper, as far as small-town rags go, but now that it’s a freebie that’s stuffed into mailboxes, it’s truly become fishwrap.

The family’s been in FSJ for more than 60 years now. The only reason I read the AHN is to see if someone I knew or heard of while I lived there has died. Sadly, I recognize a number of the names that I came across.

    2. Fking idiots are showing up here in rural Sask as well. Most on welfare and the rest are to stupid to do anything.

    1. A few hours ago, I received an e-mail message from the Radio Amateurs of Canada, reminding us that certain HF frequencies are to be set aside for emergency use due to the storm.

      1. The hurricane hit land (Cat 4) in New Orleans area (power is down) and downgraded to Cat 1 by the time it wound up in the Baton Rouge area. Was listening to Baton Rouge radio this evening. So far they report 1 soul perished due to a fallen tree.

        Lot more details here.
        From the link below:
“Despite being more powerful than Katrina, officials hope that the $14 billion (£10 billion) spent on levees and storm protection could help it avoid devastation on the same scale”

  2. We need massive protests in Canada but Canadians still seem to think they are insulated from the coming disaster that our governments have unleashed on us.

    1. Watcher…loved that video ’cause it’s true. Showed it to my wife…I’m sleeping in the guest room tonight. C’est la vie.

  3. Blackie’s Globe and Mail reports on a daring rescue of Afghans wanting to come to Canada…..by Ukrainian troops.

    1. Can we have some proof that unvacvinated are a danger for carrying the virus. There is no scientific proof, since this vax does not prevdnt infection or transmission. We are into Salem witch trials all over again.

      1. Well, the “vaccinated” carry a much greater viral load than anyone including the not vaccinated. The “vaccinated” are a serious danger to the unvaccinated and the vaccinated. I think the people have lost their minds and are never going to get them back. If an unvaccinated person is not sick they cannot infect anyone. A vaccinated person however can.

    2. “In my own [opinion] the great majority of people who are not getting their double vaccination do not trust science … I think [they] lack a considerable amount of sophistication, and also lack a certain amount of social responsibility to other members of the community. So they’re not the kind of jurors I would want on my jury anyway.” said James Harbic, Frampton’s defence lawyer.
A new way to escape the tedious rant of this lawyer. Question: If my Jurors are my ‘equals’ how do get the un-vaxed into court ?

        1. I believe he was quoting the lawyer’s comments. And indicating how stupid those comments were. Either that, the lawyer would put the word out that he has the means to get any accused of COVID related offences off the hook easily and affordably.
Based on the judge’s actions, a trial of someone accused of a COVID related offence would always result in a mistrial. If you cannot have unvaxed jurors, the jury could not be impartial towards the accused.

      1. Burgess…

“…people who are not getting their double vaccination do not trust science..”

Suggest your LAWYER needs to re-arrange his Brain cells Burgess. I trust REAL SCIENCE alright and it tells me that supposed SHIT is designed to KILL HUMANS.
Also seems to me that your lawyer is just another vacuous Ignorant minion shooting off his yap and one who couldn’t discern Shit from Shinola….time to fire him.

      2. “I think [they] lack a considerable amount of sophistication, and also lack a certain amount of social responsibility to other members of the community.”

Wrong. Vaccines do not protect “other members of the community.” Vaccines protect the individual who is vaccinated. Besides, these aren’t vaccines.

    1. Dear me. Was he vaxed? Seems a bit insensitive to ask, but increadingly with heart attacks, and similar sudden deaths, It’s the question on people’s minds. He was not very old — on the young side, in fact for dying.

  4. The more you think of it the more arrogant it is of Trudeau to call an election when we’re still dealing with pandemic stuff and it’s aftermath, trying to get back to life as we know it.
He has to be sent packing resoundingly. Canadians can’t be that stunned stupid….. or can they?
This is definitely the worst timing any PM ever chose to go to the poles for personal gain on the back of turmoil due to economic strife, jobs lost due to covid.

    1. We aren’t dealing with a pandemic we are dealing with government insanity and tyranny.

  5. Katie Telford’s husband has made it quite clear, that the Liberals will spend the rest of the campaign ranting that the Conservatives are a bunch of right wing lunatics that support demonstrations against Dear Leader.

  6. Somehow, I was reminded of the pelvic thrust from Rocky Horror Picture Show’s “Time Warp.”

  7. Jonathon Kay on twitter reports on the doctor who resigned from the vaccine task force and was praised by the media. The doctor is now saying O’Toole is sending coded neo Nazi messages to Canadians.

  8. It completely slipped my mind that this past Thursday, August 26, was the 40th anniversary of Voyager 2’s flyby of Saturn.

Voyager 1 made its pass the previous November and, once that encounter was completed, it was on its way out of the solar system. It made its observations of Saturn from above the ring plane.

Voyager 2 went below and looked at some different moons. More significant, though, was that the spacecraft was on a trajectory towards Uranus and Neptune.

The encounter didn’t go quite as smoothly as planned. For a while after leaving Saturn, there were problems in slewing the camera, which could have jeopardized future observations. It was believed that a dust grain had lodged in the gears for the pointing system, but that eventually went away after a number of attempts to rotate the camera.

But there was something else. As I recall, both missions were originally supposed to end with the Saturn encounter. But, because of a favourable alignment of the Uranus and Neptune, they were added to the flight plan of Voyager 2.

One consequence was that there was some question about whether the spacecraft could actually take pictures at those two planets due to the available light. To get the desired detail would have meant longer exposure times and that wouldn’t have been possible during the flybys. In addition, memory for the on-board computer wouldn’t have been enough to store the amount of data required to construct the images. (Keep in mind that the Voyagers were designed in the early 1970s.)

Technical staff at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, which managed the mission for NASA, changed the way in which the image data was recorded and stored. As it turned out, the revised algorithm worked as both the Uranus and Neptune encounters resulted in detailed pictures.

    1. Ah, the stuff of horror films! (“Coming soon to a movie theatre near you! The Earthworms That Ate Estevan!”)

  9. BOMBSHELL..!!!

Dr. David Martin speaking to “vaccinechoicecanada.com & with Randy Hillier listening: DETAILING CANADA’s 100% involvement with the creation of the LIPID nano particle (UBC originated), which facilitated the entire Bio Weapons program AKA CovSars2.

The DIRECT implications are that the entire Canadian Govt knew and participated in this…Long Before this supposed pandemic started. Is anyone surprised that our OBVIOUSLY compromised PM is directly involved not only in the technology but in the receipt of large amounts of cash due to his direct involvement.

We are Talking TREASON…writ large here people.!!

    1. Steakman–
Anyone who has been reading and listening to the info on this topic, on this site, and from different sources elsewhere over the last few years knows that what David said is true. We are all human souls who’ve been given many gifts, one, being intuitive abilities to know when we are not being fed the truth. There were no untruths in this presentation.

The perps need to be counted, outed and prosecuted.

      Keep on keeping on.
You were ‘sent’ ahead of us, Theo.
      Thanks for your post.

        1. Nancy

          I know eh…?
Ahh yes…UBC.!! Yea, I Was not terribly surprised at that revelation though.
And it is closer to China than the U of N.Carolina Chapple Hill…!

David Martin is simply awesome in his breadth of knowledge and CLEAR CONCISE presentations.

“..There were no untruths in this presentation….”
          TRUE THAT…!!

Even FB has a hard time with their BS fact checkers….they try but cannot seem to commit to delete…..and I’ve disseminated his latest far and wide on that site. Both of the vids I’ve seen of him. if ONLY 1 person has the courage & puts away their AUTOMATIC Cognitive Dissonance to listen …. it may make a difference.

  10. Not sorry, I cannot stomach listening to the voice of Rat’s Ass Trudeau , this is truly the only time in my life I’ve ever felt such urgency to shout from the hilltops to get rid of this sham of a leader, if elected again we are in deep trouble on all fronts.

We need to vote for Conservatives this time.

  11. I knew what was coming when I saw the embarrassing Canadian Media fellate the Fake Rose dramatic performance/performer.
As fast as I can get to the controls is how long I’ve listened to the Poofter.
Never more than a few seconds, yet still, his lack of intelligence, candor and substance are obvious.

Re-elected once already is a screaming indictment of everything Canadian.
    Lying political class.
    Corrupt Institutions.
    Dishonest Media.
Tolerated if not embraced by a misinformed, uninformed, ignorant populace.

    Governed by the MTV Party.
    Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver.
    Fascism by Media.

  12. People like this are teaching our kids. Jonathon Kay on twitter reports on a University of Toronto professor who states that sentences with 14 words, is a sign of Nazi beliefs.

  13. The bong, “won’t back down,” from the protesters who are yelling at him and calling him names. A large number of them women.
    Whata tough guy.

He has already backed down and cancelled events.

The truth is he’s despised, hated, like his father before him. It’s only going to get worse.

This continues come September 20 he will submit his resignation. Driven from office. Yeah I know it’s early.

    1. Well ABT I sure hope you are right. But you know what as an Albertan and seeing as nothing any Westerner has been able to do by voting to fix the inequalities of the Canadian Penal Colony has worked since 1905. I want to see Maverick rub out the ShitCons in Western Canada. And completely fracture the Penal Colony.
Tear it down. Burn the shithouse down.

      1. Watcher…!!

I am100% in line with your thinking. MAVERICK is the ONLY party worth receiving our 2 votes….nice to see a few lawn signs in Calgary showing the GREEN motif..!!

        Cheers from Walden..!!

  14. L- The Lion is back to lead the pride of his kin… the jackals will rue their perfidy.

(Since the SHA has started a war on the Gov’t. of Sask. Cabinet and caucus. This is getting
interesting. Who will rule? The hardline Marxists from the W.H.O. and their cadre or
the elected government? Who are realizing from: the growing number of Charter lawsuits, polling and the obvious trouble the not-so shiny pony is in. Too many road apples with his name on them. To be continued…

    1. Yep Either we live under Rule of Law meaning our governments also must obey the Charter and the Law.
Or we live Without Rule Of Law, WROL in which case we all make up our own shit and maybe go Vigilante on those who won’t respect our rights.
