Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Oh, they’re getting blown, all right, but not in the way shown in the video, if you know what I mean.
Every single time.
There are idiots in the picture alright, how about strolling by with ease into a flying roof?
We saw one video near the 150 mph landfall with a guy out walking his dogs. The yellow brick road came to mind.
BINGO …. when Ida was just inland I looked on Intellicast and they were saying 105 mph or knots winds and then I looked on Darksky maps and the strongest weather station report was 65 knots with most in the 30 range.
Pure alarmist bullshit …. although 65 is still a good blow it is below hurricane level & none of the Cat 4 nonsense. Every time when a hurricane makes landfall the actual windspeed from weather stations is significantly lower than the computer generated numbers.
Link to darksky … good for temps etc change to metric up top and change to wind etc there too. Click and drag and scroll in or out.

You cannot stand upright in 150mph wind
I don’t believe you can stand at all – isn’t 150 mph around terminal velocity for a human?
I would like to see them picked up and deposited ten miles away.
A one inch circular tree limb, about 1 foot long, spinning and hitting at 150mph will penetrate a two inch plywood.
I keep waiting to see one of them get slammed by a huge beer ad billboard & disappear.
Yup. And everything’s “unprecedented”. Not only do some towns in Europe have floodwater marks from decades or centuries past, there’s even a book out there that’s thousands of years old which mentions floods and some meteorologist named Noah…
The other classic was a reporter sitting in a canoe trying to paddle away from the “floods” but then she got photobombed by a guy walking behind her in the very shallow water.
Yes, I got a chuckle out of that one.
Talk about wind shear!
The following 2 headlines have led off the MSN news aggregator for 5 days in a row.
Free advertising from yet another media org whose expenses should count towards Liberal election costs.
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
Nooooooooobody.
The second is the beginning of a CBC story from the second headline.
The bias and partisanship is off the charts as usual.
My vote is for sale.
Kill the CBC.
Beat up the rest of the Media bigtime.(figuratively speaking)
“Trudeau promises new incentives worth billions and a tax on ‘flipping’ to help Canadians buy a home”
“Labour movement skeptical of Conservative pitch to workers”
“In his latest attempt to moderate and soften his party’s positions, Erin O’Toole used his news conference in Ottawa on Monday to highlight the union-friendly policies in his party’s 2021 platform.
“Canada’s recovery plan will give workers a real voice,” he told reporters from the party’s downtown Ottawa studio. “I have the same goal as many union organizations. Jobs for their members and strong economic futures for their families.”
Labour leaders more accustomed to campaigning against Conservative governments aren’t buying it, citing the track record of the former Conservative cabinet O’Toole served in during Stephen Harper’s government.
“Mr. O’Toole not only voted to strip away the rights of workers, when he had the chance to reverse these damaging laws, he refused,” said Bea Bruske, the president of the Canadian Labour Congress, in a statement fired out to reporters within minutes of the Conservatives’ daily campaign event. “
Brian Lilly has a hit piece on Chris Sky today. Apparently nothing else is happening in the world. Anyone who thinks Lilly is anything but a corporate media stooge ought to give their head a shake.

Remembering the flood in Calgary a while back. A homeless gent walked in behind the CTV reporter and flipped her the bird.
No wonder the government issues TOTAL evacuation ORDERS so quickly and easily these days. Can’t have any of the proles interrupting the narrative …
PS … my local news JUST broadcast a video of flooding in Delacroix… ohhhhhhh Mommmaaaaaa … the flooding, the flooding ….
The camera was set down at waters level, showing waves and the flooding … with no perspective or scale … so totally fake so totally fabricated to ‘look’ scary. What a joke. They put the camera down in a puddle.
They are “weather entertainers”. They just can’t help over playing a bit part. A pox on them anyway. Where it’s wet and hairy.
My father liked to have the Weather Channel on his TV all the time. Frankly, I found it rather boring after 15 minutes as it pretty much showed everything it had to say in that time span. I mean, how many times per hour do they have to repeat the same Dangerous Storms!!! clip?
Actually, I think it was the Weather Network, which is Canadian, as the Weather Channel is American.
It doesn’t matter. I found what was being presented mind-numbing.
