  1. My GUESS is that most Canadians had no idea there was personnel in Afghanistan. My GUESS is that most Canadians, if they think of Afghanistan at all, thought it was a conflict that ended, for Canada, a long time ago. My GUESS is that most Canadians are more concerned with the clusterf*ck here in Canada than in some other country.

    That said, however, “when sorrows come, they come not single spies, but in battalions”.

    Canada is in a world of hurt. Whoever inherits Junior’s mess will have problems an order of magnitude worse than Mulroney had taking over the Old Man’s disastrously incompetent “management”.

    Junior’s campaign is not going well. Could have been predicted. His desperation will soon become unmistakeable.

    Desperate malignant narcissists and psychopaths become even more dangerous. Steeling oneself for what might come would be prudent.

    2. Mulroney could have done something, but being a Quebec liberal in conservative drag got him elected. I was on a nominating committee in the Maritimes when the asshole ran. No one in our area wanted him . It was after he was coronated that I left the conservative for good.

      1. There are no ideological opponents of statism in Canada. Never have been. The country started out essentially as department store that was granted a state-monopoly by a world empire. (The Hudson’s Bay charter gave them almost everything).

        In Canada, the political offerings are crap sandwiches that differ only in varying quantities of sh*t content between the slices of Wonder Bread.

  3. I believe that Justin Trudeau will be re-elected with a majority. The electorate is bribed with CERB, stoned with legal marijuana, and lobotomized by the reassuring propaganda from the bought and paid for media. There are a few disgruntled voices, the usual suspects: meat eating fascists who champion white male supremacy. Any opposition that appears to be a rival will be smegmatized by the media. One suspects that the opposition is on the establishment payroll evidenced by the dumb as dung campaign.

    1. Strongly argued, and well observed. I don’t disagree with the substance of your points, and I certainly can’t/won’t challenge your belief about the future.

      Politics for almost everyone people is based on self-interest, (duh), and “feeling”. Junior has bribed, yes, but every politician wants to buy your vote with your own, (or future generations’), money.

      As for the emotional aspects, Junior’s public “mask” or persona is cloying at best, and nauseating at worst. He sucks the oxygen out of every conversation; everything is always about him, and how wonderful he is. The effect is cumulative. Such people are never “popular” for long.

      In a magazine article back in the 70s, Maggie was interviewed at the Sussex Drive residence, and during the interview she was being pestered by a very young Junior. Finally, Maggie, a self-absorbed narcissist herself, said: “Oh, Justin, you are SO annoying. Go to the kitchen and ask Chef to give you a cookie.” At some point, enough people are going to want Junior to go away. In the previous election, the figure was already 70%.

      2. Trudeaupia and Fenris – a quick comment here, I don’t think the ‘Little Potato’ will get his majority! My thoughts are O’Toole may get a small minority or on the other hand he will be reduced to about 75 seats. One or the other!
        He is riding fairly high right now and the media is treating him almost honestly. Not quite, but… If the media continues to treat him as they are doing so – minority. But we have 3 weeks+ to go. (The Afghanistan thing should draw Spud down!)
        Wouldn’t it be interesting if the PPC were to win enough to hold the bala…, no that ain’t going to happen!
        Bear in mind that, that rat BASTARD NDP can promise the moon. And he has been! He is the kind of guy one wouldn’t mind going for a beer with, not unlike Premature E’Jack layton, except when it came time to pay, the Son-of-Bitch would be sitting at another table! Drinking!!

    2. While in general agreement, I think that the alternative venues of information, SDA being one, is having some effect in this campaign as the Spawn is barely ahead of O’Toole in recent polls. The mindless mushy middle includes those who give little to no thought to politics normally but tune in a little during an election and they are likely not so enamored with O’Toole and his Me Too policies as they are turned off after paying some attention to the Spawn and his pathetic regime. I think the little prick won’t get his f…..g majority!

    3. From an admitted pessimist, I’m with you. The current polls mean nothing. Despite all the gaffs, there’s still 3 weeks left. Plenty of time for the bought-and-paid-for media to come to the rescue. I’ll bet that they’ve already started digging, looking for any dirt on O’Foole.

      And if that doesn’t work, meaning somehow they can’t find anything, well… there’s always plan “B”. Like for instance, a number of toss-up ridings with 110% voter turnout — all voting liberal, of course.

      Oh, and in this political climate, even if O’Foole somehow manages to eek out a minority governing “win”, it won’t last long before the other left-wing lunatics get together to bring the house down. Heck… O’Foole may not be able to form a government in the first place, even if the CPC wins more seats than any of the other parties. So it’s majority or bust for the CPC’s, and they’re NOWHERE close to that territory, if you believe the current polls.

    4. I dunno. A lot of people know he’s an idiot and are totally embarrassed by him but … they still want to believe in the Liberal Party. I predict another minority. That will be the end of him as leader. Unfortunately, the Liberals are like cockroaches. I guess we’ll see.

  5. Even if you never did before and it pains you, this is one time in our history we need to vote Conservative. It’s the only way we can boot out the Trudeau/Butts regime. Mr O’Toole could never do the damage to already in progress another four years of Trudeau and gang of shysters.

  6. Thank you to whoever it was that gave a link to the Raging Dissident. I used to enjoy his rants on the various social media platforms but the censorship leaves him playing cat and mouse with the Tech Lords. His blood pressure is as bad as mine, and misery loves company. He proves that there are some real Canadians left, as I used to remember them. God bless him.

    He is an amazingly eloquent, extemporaneous speaker. He’s trying to clean up his old army profanity.

    A random quote from one of his recent videos: “Canada is a dumpster fire, out of control, rolling down a cliff, and into a fireworks factory.” In an insane world, wouldn’t a sane man be full of righteous anger?

      1. Brother John, I remember the movie Network quite well. Prophetic, wasn’t it? Almost makes one think predictive programming is really a thing.

        I haven’t refreshed my memory by looking up the quote, but there was another exquisitely perceptive line in the movie. After articulating all the problems of the day, (none have since departed, by the way), the “mad prophet of the airwaves” pictured us as cowering in the corner saying: “let me have my toaster and my tv and my steel belted radials and I won’t say anything. Just leave us alone.”

        Well, it’s quite obvious today that they have no intention of letting us alone. At some point, and it seems sooner than anyone would have predicted, they are coming for us.
