  1. He never said that the residential schools where acceptable, he said everyone thought they where doing it for all the right reasons.
Sort of the same way people thought the sun revolved around the earth.

But how would it look if the sun did revolve around the earth?

    1. It would look like a place where people used “where” for “were” all the time.

  2. No matter what you do or don’t do, you are damned. Don’t get the First Nations fresh water, damned. Try to prevent children from being abandoned or abused by establishing residential schools – damned. Do nothing – damned, but it costs a whole lot less.

These people need to grow up and they won’t do that by being coddled. Ask any parent of adult children – you cripple them if you always solve their problems.

      1. He said he did not mention colonialism in his original remarks or praise it in any way.

Oh! Let me FIX THAT for him! Colonialism built Canada into a GREAT NATION! A nation that can actually $$ afford to indulge Native Fantasies of what their lives were like before the arrival of the white man.

      2. Yup, agreed VOWG. As I’ve stated before the way to fight colonialism is to boycott items developed by the colonialist people, and derivatives that are transportation methods using things they invented.

Like home delivered electricity. Both AC and DC electrical generation. And the internal combustion engine. And the jet engine. And the supertanker. And the liquid fuel rocket. And the cotton Jenny. And the mechanical loom. And programmable computing machines (and their latest derivatives, cell phones and tablet computers). And batteries. And the refrigerator and freezer. And anything with transistors.

    1. Codex

EXACTLY…that is the bottom line. But it’s not about the plight of the Natives….it’s 100% bought the 30 Billion Dollar Indian Act Industry….

  3. When I was a yougster, the Left were all about reason, logic, data, facts and science. They resonated with me. Nowadays, those are the characteristics of conservatives.

Funny, when you live for reason, science, study, facts, you aren’t strapped into following just one political faction your whole life.

“And the truth will set you free”.

What these early nations are saying outright is that their ancestors who demanded residential schools be kept open, demanded access to Canadian universities and the economy, demanded jobs, instead of hunting and gathering, those ancestors were
useless retards who didn’t know jack squat.

Wow. Just wow. I cannot fathom insulting my ancestors in that way. But then again, these are the times in the West. When we blaspheme the sacred and worship the banal and profane.

  4. Malice has a very cynical world view yet his prescription for fixing things is incredibly naive. However, his statement here is 100% correct.
Modern, western conservatism no longer has has any utility. There is nothing left to conserve except the massive bureaucracy and cultural institutions corrupted by the left.
An entirely different approach is going to be required to rebuild once the political left completes its destruction of the west.

    1. I would like to be free as I was in Jan 2020. Is that too much for any ahole in Canada to get their tiny minds around? F*ck the whu who flu. To hell with indians and their welfare state. They need to produce something, feed themselves, I no longer want to do that.

      1. Yeah, we ain’t going back to 2019. The ruling class now knows it can get away with anything it wants. It’s only going to get worse from here on out….

        1. What? Canada isn’t building back … “better”? You don’t want to trade your Freedom for a FREE loaf of bread?

  5. How many years were NDP in power while those residential schools operated? Why didn’t they dissolve them then?

And if they didn’t, was it because they thought they were a good thing or wanted a bad thing to continue?

    1. Manitoba NDP every bit as complicit in allowing residential schools to operate as Federal Liberals.

      1. The Indians themselves liked residential schools and protested when they were being shut down. Cursed with short memories.

  6. Truth must be replaced with the narratives of the apartheid business and their poverty-pimping politicians of the left so that a small racial remnant population can exist in permanent grievance, impoverished ghettos of (self government) communist oppression and in continual negotiation with our poverty pimps until all others are economic and cultural slaves to their communist rulers and this is their definition of reconciliation. Their road leads to reactionary racial backlash and eventual violence and nothing in the way of lifting the Indian serfs out of their apartheid (reserves) gulags.

  7. There was never a need or a plan to destroy the lives, culture and heritage of the Canadian Native Bands.

The Canadian Native Bands are more than capable to doing that to themselves … and many of them are hard at it.

    1. What, you mean rampant alcohol and drug abuse, child and spousal abuse and incest? Well if it’s a problem it’s certainly our fault. /sarc off

Gotta love the bigotry of low expectations, yes indeed.

  8. Canada and the USA are horrible because they were built on slavery, or so the story goes these days.

But the North and South American natives were slavers before 1492 so their societies were built on slavery as well.
Aren’t Christian Europeans the good guys for ending slavery in Americas, and really, around the world?
No other society made any effort to end slavery.

I notice that the left seem to be focused on destroying the society and culture that they wrongly blame for slavery.
If their tactic of destroying culture and society are valid today then wasn’t the Europeans using that same tactic of destroying the slaver culture and society of the natives also valid?

      1. Yup. I love that the most advanced First Nations cultures did things like cut out the beating hearts from prisoners of war, and stack up tens of thousands of human skulls at their religious edifices. These were the cultures that we’re supposed to feel bad that the Spanish demolished.

“Cultural genocide” – with perfectly good reason.

    1. “Canada and the USA are horrible because they were built on slavery”

In 1860 2% of Americans owned slaves. Maybe slavery wasn’t as overwhelming as we are led to believe. Mind you it was a bitch if you were a slave.

  9. Can’t let truth muddy the water of narrative. It must be clear on the road to reparations: white men are evil and therefore good intentions are simply impossible.

  10. Ok! We’re sorry!
Here’s your breechcloth and your flint knife and your bow and arrow back. As you were…

  11. Like being condemned to watch the same bad movie over and over again and not permitted to leave. Why must we be constantly bludgeoned with this? Obviously they can’t have their lives back so money is the only way to be made whole.
38,000 claims have been settled with over 4 billion dollars in payouts and the expected windup is in 2023.
Maybe they’re greasing the skids for another trip to the well.

Lagimodiere’s comment was maybe on the clunky side but he said what most people are too afraid to say. Just as we know a doctor in the 18th century wasn’t being malicious when prescribing bloodletting for his patient. A simplistic analogy…but you know where I’m coming from.
From 1849 – 1996 a total of 150,000 kids attended residential schools representing just 20% of the total number of Indigenous children in Canada.
If it was genocide we were pretty shitty at it.

  12. As long as the culture remains in its bubble of self-righteousness and sanctimoniousness, the left will always find a pedestal on which they will reproach anyone for anything.

    Let these people ruin themselves.

  13. Just seems like they really want a race war. It’ll make Juthtin and the LPOC happy.

  14. Talking with a pilot that did some of the flying, many of the kids were all packed and waiting to get of the reserve and the miserable conditions found there at the time.
Same reasons many still don’t choose to live on the reserves today.

  15. Excuse me WTF are you?
    Joe Canoe.
    What do you do Joe?
I am the Manitoba NDP Leader.
So you are Provincial head of Federal Socialist Party.
    Yes.
Well Joe, you do not represent Natives here. You represent a bunch of Socialists at the Provincial level. Natives have their own representatives, and you are not one of them. You are an usurper and an a political opportunist. STFU and sit down. I own this talking stick, if you want to spew NDP propaganda, buy your own.

  16. By the way, you know that native writing you see on signs, those that look like squiggles?

    Invented by a white missionary.

  17. The law of unintended consequences?
If these State Moron’s keep insisting I am a “Alt Right Extremist” for demanding actual evidence and fiscal responsibility and that I am therefore an evil racist monster, whom they can abuse at will,to be excluded from due process and rule of law..At what point shall I agree?

For in todays,Dread Covid Theatre, some very interesting facts have been revealed..
We the individual have no rights ,freedoms or access to justice..During an emergency we have nothing..
Civilization is gone, until a bunch of bureaucrats and ideologues say otherwise..
    Ok .
    No Civilization.
    Duh. Me Savage.
    You Pray?

And under the above conditions, why would anyone contribute to the collective?
They have deliberately excluded the tax paying citizenry.
    Smart.
