I know why they call it an “armed insurrection” even though it was done by an unarmed group who wanted existing laws enforced. Because there is but one political party in the United States. The push to supplant 9/11 as a solemn day of remembrance seems to have some traction. 9/11 was perpetrated by Arabs against a largely white society so the act is ‘ understandable ‘. Some on the left have even said 1/6 was a far greater tragedy which doesn’t come as a surprise to anyone to the right of Mao.
It’s entirely likely that in the future anyone who cites the events of 9/11 will be labelled a white supremacist, as will those who deny the grave, earth shaking ( and utterly contrived ) significance of 1/6.
