  2. My first thought was that he’s finally growing up. Then I read what he still believes and know that is not the case.

    I don’t think he has realized that the parade he was formerly leading is a beast. The beast isn’t all that bright and is lead by the loudest and least tolerant within it. And if he’s not leading it, it will eat him because he’s in range.

    Now I’ll grant you it was written by Bartley Kives who is a white male extremist hater of anything not NDP but even so look at Pallister’s sins.

    1) Pallister characterized divisions between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people over illegal night hunting as the makings of “a race war.”

    He wasn’t wrong. Bands of almost exclusively young indigenous men with spotlights were roaming the countryside slaughtering anything that moved and often leaving the carcasses to rot. This was not subsistence hunting for the table. This was random slaughter wth total disregard for landowners and for the animals that were being slaughtered. I note these brave warriors were driving pick up trucks that are a product of that evil white European colonization they love to bash. They weren’t hunting with hand made bows and arrows and with flint tips tied on with deer sinew.

    2) The premier suggested the need to prioritize the Indigenous population for COVID-19 vaccinations “puts Manitobans at the back of the line” for doses if the province does not receive a greater proportional share of shots. The implication, as Sen. Murray Sinclair noted, was Indigenous people are not Manitobans. Sinclair who is not White has been so savagely oppressed by White people that he is an aboriginal judge, lawyer and now senator.

    Excuse me, Pallister was not the one who was talking about indigenous versus Manitobans. The indigenous leadership loudly demanded they be treated separately and apart from the rest of us. They set up the indigenous versus Manitobans standard and were very happy to take full advantage of it. Now to their credit, the local reserves here bent over backwards to allow mere low life scum White people to come in and take any vaccine they had to spare so nothing was wasted but Whites were still second class citizens who got their vaccine dead last by a designated twenty year age margin. This injustice was arranged for by largely Federal level White politicians and health bureaucrats and I think dividing us all by race was the problem, not Pallister objecting to it.

    3) “The people who came here to this country before it was a country, and since, didn’t come here to destroy anything,” the premier said. “They came here to build.” That comment supposedly shows that Pallister is employing words that White male Bartley suggests are considered “insensitive by Indigenous and non-Indigenous scholars alike.”

    So my Ukranian and Scandanavian ancestors came to Canada because they wanted to colonize and destroy and oppress and rob indigenous Canadians, not because they wanted to build a new life in a new land. So glad these race baiters can look back in time and read the minds of the settlers like that.

    Truth and Reconciliation is simply Canada’s version of Critical Race Theory. The Liberals are trying to destroy Canada by first dividing us by race and then by setting us at each other’s throats.

    He’s a so-called moderate lefty (modern liberal) whose world is being shattered by those taking his worldview to its hideous logical conclusion. The ongoing cultural revolution is the natural leap from “democratic” socialism to Marxism through “actual” nihilism, hollowing out the culture by misfits comprising the product of the educational institutions already hollowed out by Marxism. This is cultural Kristallnacht using fear and intimidation on an industrial level. Statism, be it socialism, fascism or more likely, a mutant blend is the leftist destination where looting and thuggery has replaced the rule of law which, itself will be replaced with orderly and brutal state control of everything. The road to serfdom is getting shorter by the day.

  8. So in the end, Biden is a terrible person doing terrible things – but at least he’s better than Trump. But what exactly did Trump do? For all his talk of all the “great things” he was going to do, nothing he managed to accomplish lasted any longer than Biden’s first 24 hours in office. And what has Biden managed to accomplish in his first 6 months in office? A hell of a lot more than Trump accomplished in his whole term, because he’s got Congress and the entire bureaucracy and the press and Big Tech and all the “experts” on his side. With all that Trump had arrayed against him, there was never any chance that he was going to accomplish anything. I would suggest that rather than hyperventilating about what Trump said you should look at what Biden’s doing, and you’ll see Biden is a hundred times more dangerous than Trump.

  15. I tuned out from Sullivan in 2008 with his pathetic fawning over Obama. He was hoping to ingratiate himself with the left, and it came across as inauthentic. Meanwhile he lost the right. Sadly for him, the left never warmed to him. He desperately hopped on the TDS bandwagon, like David Frum, and the left still don’t want him. Now he looking for inroads back on the right. It ain’t going to work. He still has to throw in “right wing nihilist extremism” crap.

    Saw a youtube of Sullivan and Frum having a discussion earlier this year. It was a few weeks old and there were less than 100 views. Their time is done.

  16. I guess I do live under a rock, as I’m not sure I’ve heard of this “Andrew Sullivan” before.
    My impression of this diatribe, er, article, was the immense breadth of it’s range. An epic, dictionary consuming, progressive, word salad. What does come across, is that he actually believes his own bullshit, and the lesser morons consuming these messianic prose, will probably believe it as well. The irony is that such people are not only tolerated in the tattered remains of academic discussions, but these are considered acceptable viewpoints by progressives. Until we accept that the deep state is so ingrained and subversive, only a civil war might be able to wrest them out of the cracks and crevices of the vast bureaucratic machines of all western governments. Even then, such an action may not be successful. We have our own lazy complacency to blame for the dire situation we now face.

    We have allowed the “long march through the institutions”, we have allowed the bureaucratic deep state to fester and grow into an ocean of puss, that will require a giant warrior antibiotic to kill it. We have allowed the progressives to guilt us about blacks and indiginous, and invent Islamaphobia. To call us racists and white supremacists, to open our borders to the dregs of the planet. What we have “allowed” is vast, and we sit on our pedestals, with our fingers plugging our ears, with a blindfold on. This tolerant life and society we so cherish, yet are so tolerant we’re unwilling to get off our butts to actually stand up and defend it. How then can we complain, when it is blatantly being stolen from us, out in the open light of day, and right under our noses! We are our own worst enemy.
