  9. The last time I was in Portland (2019) I was told that shoplifting had become an epidemic. How long before it’s the same in Seattle, and the Vancouver? If the law won’t take care of this situation, I wouldn’t be surprised if vigilantes started to appear.

    Odds are that most of the perps live somewhere other than San Francisco. SF has even fewer blacks than Seattle or Portland. Aside from their robust homeless community, SF has to import the downtrodden from across the Bay.

  13. I do wonder about the level of intelligence of the store owners/managers.

    If it were me, every item would be priced at over $1,000.
    Good customers (i.e. those that go to the checkout and are not a member of local government) would receive a healthy discount on the price when they pay by an approved payment method (cash, credit card, check).
