I woke up this morning to a disabling attack of eye strain, due to a combination of too much time spent at the desk and the computer. I’ll be taking the day (or two) off until it resolves. Have a great weekend.

Get well soon Kate!

Oh that’s terrible. Take care of yourself and feel better.
In the meantime your readers might appreciate the latest bit of CBC glorification of the Nobel Savage and promotion of racism with an indigenous barter only market (apparently run mainly on donations not barter) open only to indigenous peoples. Whites are not allowed.

God bless you, Kate. It seems you have gathered a team of very competent support. Your blog is in good hands until you recover.
Take care.
Have a speedy recovery Kate. God bless.
I blame Harper and global warming.
Funny. Both are figments of someone’s imagination.
The Left’s Great Communist Climate Scam.
And Stevie Who, who was a disappointing imaginary Conservative who accomplished so little, one wonders if he truly did exist.
I doubt that. It’s likely Trumps fault.
Thanks for all you do Kate.

……or sleep. Sleep is good.
May I suggest therapy glasses?

Actually, for some months now I’ve been wearing blue-light blocking glasses whenever I use my computer or Kindle. Helps A LOT to reduce eye strain and headaches. (And they doe cost much.)
Riding a bike through the green country side does wonders for eyestrain, and paperwork butt.
Nature is God’s Eye Candy.`
May you recover quickly.
Get better soon and God bless.
My son just completed his fourth grade online schooling for the year. In the second grade he had a year of vision therapy due to a lazy eye. He had his vision tested a number of times over the therapy…and was always 20/20.
This past weekend that same kid could not read the flavour board behind the counter of the ice cream shop. I wonder how many kids have ruined vision from being locked up with only a screen for company for the past year and a half.
Kate, I love and appreciate what you do here, but your health comes first. Please take all the rest you need and get well soon.
I often forget the rule of 20s and end up with eyestrain as a result too.
Every 20 minutes, look away from the screen for 20 seconds at something 20 (or more) feet away.
Wearing some sunglasses around the house usually helps me (after the eyestrain hits) too. Get better, eh.
Kate, get well soon.
Harper, Globull Warming?
I’m thinking maybe a dog hair under the eyelid! Anyhow, take care.
With the exception of the “so what” defeatist comment, this was the most edifying post of the day.
Hang tough, Kate. You rock.
I am sure that I speak for many here when I opine that the eyes ain’t what they used to be.
Keep them open, amigos.
give the dogs yer key board, and lets SEE how smart they are, after being around the best for so long!
I send you best wishes for a speedy and full recovery.
Kate, try brewing chamomile tea (about two bags per cup), wait till it cools down to room temperature, dip cotton balls in it and put them on your eyes for five to ten minutes. Repeat few times a day. It should bring instant relief. You can use the same cup for 24 hours, then replace it with a fresh one. Hope it helps.
I always say, never judge another person’s cup of tea until you’ve camomile in their shoes…
