Apparently that’s how the system is supposed to work. Originally in the Toronto Star
Woman’s murder charge withdrawn in ‘strongest case of self-defence I have ever seen in 30 years’
Chelsea Arcakas was soaked in blood, barefoot and banging on the door of a neighbor’s house to call 911 for an ambulance.
“He was trying to kill me,” he told the answering couple.
When paramedics and police arrived, she was lying on the floor, a pink towel tied under her head, barely able to breathe through her rib, nose and neck injuries.
She told police that her ex-boyfriend, 32-year-old Brent Manches, was in a nearby basement apartment. Hearing this on the police radio, he soon learns that he is dead.
Runkle Of the Bailey weighs in with way more details.

During the attack, which lasted for some duration, Ms. Arcakas used a folding pocket knife to reach back and hit Mr. Manches while he was stopping by lying on top of her and pressing her with a scarf, ”the puppy said.
The puppy? This may be the “strongest case of self-defense” but it’s also one of the worst written articles ever. The site could use an editor.
Ya wtf. Tenses and incorrect negations all over the place. I was almost certain it was a google translate error but alas, just some of the worst proof-reading you’ll ever encounter – it should be used as an educational illustration. Like it was typed in on a phone.
I assumed it was a clumsy translation from the French article.
I assumed it was because grammar is racist and proofreading is patriarchy.
The Reporter needs to complete her English language course. P/C hiring of a person who doesn’t know English well enough to work in that language.
This case is SO rare in the Canadian justice system, we should make the day she was acquitted a national holiday.
I’m sure we all remember the poor bastard near London,Ontario whose home was attacked by thugs with firebombs, all caught on security cameras, and he fired his revolver into the air to scare them off, then suffered the consequences as The System did everything they could to ruin his life.
Very fishy.
Here’s a list of the names attributed to the main character of the story: Arcakas/Arkarakas/Arcarcus/Arcakas/Arakarakas/Archakas/Arkarakus/Arkarcus.
Likely it was done to avoid copyright issues.
Here’s the TorStar version:

Yes, look at the top. There is a link to report DMCA infringement. That is just … weird. Almost as weird as the article itself with the randomised gender and variable spelling for the names of all parties involved.
Thank you for posting the link. It was a much easier read.
I have a pronoun headache after reading that story.
LOL.
You win the internet today!
Worse than a migraine…
The pain never ends.
Because in a police state you’re supposed to be a victim. You’re supposed to adopt and accept victim mentality and act accordingly. Because anyone willing to defend themselves is an enemy of the thugs in blue. They much prefer to draw chalk lines around your corpse than deal with survivors. So they punish survivors. Ruthlessly. And she will get no compensation for the malicious sociopathic treatment she has been subjected to. Because the thugs that Enema69 loves to fellate are above the law and never held responsible.
Oh, please don’t defund them. Anything but that.
How does an/a “apparently legitimate” newspaper let a poorly written article like this see the light of day or as the paper would likely print “right of a way”.
They should hire an editor if they don’t have one or fire one if they do.
Sounds like listening to ads on CKOM or reading the Star Kleenex.
They’re all diversity hires who don’t speak English.
If you look at John70’s link above, they have copied the Toronto Star article verbatim then just randomised gender of pronouns and the spelling of the names. The article has a link to report DMCA violations at the top, which is odd.
After reading that mess I had to go read another one. FYI … The ‘witch’s witch’ mushroom has been spotted in a northern BC ‘jungle’ community.
Meanwhile in diverse Toronto, the Toronto Sun reports on a diverse man getting bail for the second time, this time for murder.
The author of that article is mentally handicapped. He refers to a male and she refers to a female . At least where I live that’s true standard.
That was the most poorly written article I have ever seen. I thought for moment that it was a spoof of some sorts. I’m assuming that’s why you’ve drawn it to our attention.
Let’s see… browner than myself…. appears female…. showing signs of gender ambiguity…. allah mode.
Correction: This was a wonderfully written article. I think this reporter will soon receive the Hillman.
Sheesh!!! What rubbish.
Hulk want to smash Police.
And writer dummy.

Chelsey Arkarakas did a month in jail because Brent was an Indian from the Waywayseecappo reserve in Manitoba.
The closest thing to an honest trade that Brent ever acquired was tattooing. His only accomplishments in life that outlived him are the nine bastards he sired by seven mistresses in Manitoba and in Ontario, where he fled in 2015 for unclear reasons—and presumably the girls’ tramp stamps.
One hopes that this will teach Chelsey Arkarakas not to trust an Indian brave again. One hopes.
That is a better explanation than “those detectives are idiots”. I can’t think of any other reasons to explain the arrest in light of the disparity of wounds and his criminal history.
How about “those detectives are evil”? Evil to the core, worthless and vile. Putting a victim through hell for the sake of political correctness.
I’m glad she got off when he found out he was dead. Still no word on if the author is being charged with murdering the English language.
So when do the protests start for the death of a Native?
No need for self defense, the police will protect us.
It used to be that engineers could not write.
Even MadLibs are clearer than that pile.
Can you forgive a silly old fool for inquiring why anyone would want to tattoo their face to the degree that is shown here. Secondly why would any woman want to associate with someone who had disfigured himself to that degree.
Most of you morons are more concerned with bad writing than with subhuman jackbooted thugs bending over backwards to punish an obviously innocent victim.
Because she defended herself.
Because he was native.
Because she wanted a lawyer and due to bogus Wuhan flu restrictions she was denied access which in turn gave the subhuman thugs another excuse to rake a traumatized innocent victim over the coals.
So she spend a month in jail while recovering in subpar conditions under severe stress and pressure.
But sure, let’s talk about the writing style in the article.
speaking of morons, R~4 R~4, and R~4, just how moron is R~4?
^ Poor enema69, upset again, because his beloved cops turned out to be sadistic sociopaths again.
My uncle is a cop, and a good person. He deserves to get paid to risk his life for others, his family deserves the paycheck as well. But please, continue the insulting and dehumanizing rhetoric, it might work at eventually driving out all the decent cops and then you’ll really get the police state you deserve.
No cop puts his life at risk. “Officer safety” is in fact routinely used to excuse abuses. Cops put other lives at risk. They destroy lives. They act like an occupation force. They are never held accountable for the harm they do. If your uncle was a decent man he would have quit long ago.
I understand your concern but terrible grammar is usually a sign of questionable accuracy.
“I understand your concern but terrible grammar is usually a sign of questionable accuracy.”
I thought exactly the same thing. I *want* to believe this story and feel that I should be outraged by it, but how can I trust in the accuracy of what I’ve just (painfully) been forced to read?
Then just watch the video from Runkle Of the Bailey linked above.
Imagine how much better the story would be if we were able to understand it without getting out Rosetta Stone?
It is unclear who did what because it seems like the author wrote it drunk. There are three different spelling of the victim’s name and she is frequently referred to as he.
Genuinely confusing to read for a moron such as myself.
“…an obviously innocent victim.”
Seriously?
Yes, seriously, no question about it.
What did I just read?
Arkaracus or Arakarakas or Arcarcus? He or she or he or he? Maybe there is a great story in there but I am having trouble finding it.
I couldn’t get past the first few sentences. Obviously, the author of this article is illiterate.
Seriously, Francisco? Do you even read your own links?
