These case series show that a number of previously healthy young people have so far been killed by the Astra-Zeneca vaccine. Considering their age and underlying health status, the risk to them from covid-19 itself was infinitesimal. For healthy young people it is not at all clear that the potential benefits from the covid-19 vaccines outweigh the potential harms.
That doesn’t just go for the Astra-Zeneca vaccine. It goes for all the vaccines. It is quite possible that new revelations will arrive over the coming months concerning the other vaccines too. Now would be a good time for governments to change vaccination strategies, halt all plans to vaccinate healthy young people, and instead only vaccinate those who are at substantial risk of serious outcomes from covid-19.
It is unethical to vaccinate healthy young people until it is clear that the benefits to them outweigh the harms. At the present point in time, that is not at all clear.

What happens when a co-morbidity is exacerbated by a “vaccine”?
Nobody should be required to be vaccinated and nothing’s without risk. Even doing nothing. Israel’s Covid death rate over the past week (~5.2/d avg) is roughly 1/12th what it was from Jan. 20th to 26th where it was at its worst. Lowest since early last July. To my eye it appears mass vaccination has some definable benefit in getting Covid under control. I haven’t checked lately but a few weeks ago I read ~80% of those over 60 and overall 57% of Israel’s total population were vaccinated with about 8% having tested positive. Looks like herd immunity for Covid is achievable and it doesn’t take everyone having to get a shot to get there.
So I don’t suppose the vulnerable having died a year ago has anything to do with the falling death rate due to covid other than the vaccines. What is the normal course of a disease without a vaccine? Large numbers of people get sick. A portion of them die. However there is a fixed number of people that will die from the disease. Once that number is reached the rest will not die because they have immunity. Seems simple. Did I miss something?
A bit. If the disease is new it will reach nearly the entire population in the absence of a vaccine. With one, it can be halted before then. There isn’t a clear off switch on deaths, either. If the disease continues to circulate widely, people who were above the line of “die from it/don’t die from it” may be below it the next year.
It is at least possible that governments know or have grounds to believe something about this virus which they can’t disclose; perhaps it began as a bat virus, was enhanced at WIV, then escaped. WIV also houses China’s biowarfare department. In that case the urgency to squelch it makes sense.

I’ve decided to be part of the control group in this grand vaccine experiment.
Vaccines are a great example of scientific advancement. But, not all vaccines have been successful (see swine flu vaccine in the 1970s). Sometimes science makes mistakes…big mistakes. These blood clots may, or may not, be the tip of the iceberg with these vaccines that use a very new technology (mRNA/DNA). More traditional vaccines (attenuated virus, sub protein vaccines) and treatments will be available soon so I’m not rushing.
The risk vs benefit for experimental vaccines doesn’t make sense at this time for someone my age, weight and health. Unlike say Ebola or polio, our immune system has evolved to take care of coronavirus, rhinovirus, etc. I’ll trust my immune system.
The other pro to my decision is that I can change my mind at any time and get a vaccine that I’m comfortable taking. But, if you get these new, experimental vaccines and they cause immediate or mid to long term health problems…you can’t untake the vaccine. Like AIDS, this vaccine could become a lifetime health issue.
The last time that I have ever been jabbed was for a colonoscopy and the anesthetic was telling my brain that my hand was being crushed bone by bone as it was moving up my arm.
I have an extremely high pain tolerance as my scars can attest and this was something that I never experienced before.
Nothing new ever again will flow through these old tough veins.
LC, a vaccine might be worth the effort if any of the virus was isolated and was used to create a vaccine but that is not the case. I am sure I do not have 20 years and I am still not going to take an experimental gene therapy.

They (Big HARMA), have been trying to make a proper VACcINE for over 60 years – ZERO SUCCESS. Nor do I expect them to succeed because hey mutate far too fast. To be honest, IMO..? we simply DO NOT NEED them.
Exercise – take Vitamin D daily (2000 IU +), add in some Vitamin C w/Zinc (500-100IU), and to me that is all one needs to do along with hugging ALL your friends vigorously and AVOIDING the use of SANITIZER.

I don’t get annual flu shots or any other vaccinations that I think are unnecessary but I’m not anti-vax by any means. Beyond the usual childhood vaccines, my old job included waste water treatment so I’ve has more than the usual number of vaccines and boosters.
I do agree that the importance of staying healthy is often ignored but some lethal diseases attack a healthy body just as often as an unhealthy one.
Each person has to do their own risk assessment.

I heard last week that there are twice as many “virus complications leading to death” in that last 6 months than there were in the prior 10 years. From a scientific point of view, it is important. If in the future certain diseases or conditions are affecting those vaccinated with covid vaccine P, M, A or J at a higher rate than the unvaccinated, that’s valuable information.
I have been using that phrase for the last month when people ask me if I’m getting the jab.

I too have about 20 years yet and the key point is that you can’t “untake” what has been jabbed into your body. My wife and I have decided to be part of the “control” group as well, and let’s see how this plays out. Like you, I will trust the body my Creator has given me, and keep my immune system in good condition etc with the appropriate vitamins etc.
Unfortunately, I used to travel globally about 50-60% of the time and that is in definite jeopardy right now. Haven’t been on a plane for 13 months. I refuse to “play the game” regarding passports, tests etc and especially the Trudeau Hilton. So far my employer has been very supportive, but that can all change on a whim!

Travel is an issue. Since the vaccinations don’t prevent catching or transmitting covid, odds are good that most unvaccinated people will be exposed to the virus. Given the traffic of teens and young adults in our household and local/nearby city outbreaks, I suspect we already have had covid and now have covid antibodies. If there are health passports to travel (an idea a profoundly disagree with ) perhaps a test for antibodies and T cells will be available. I suspect that sooner rather than later the vast majority of people will have had the vaccines or natural immunity.
I don’t know where you live, but where I do in the States I could get an antibody test today if I wanted to, either by going to to an urgent care clinic or to a lab and paying out of pocket for it (closest lab would charge me $69 for the privilege).
But I agree that ability to travel freely, if at all, is already a factor in some people getting a vaccine and will likely become something used to get people to have one once they get past the people who are lining up to get it and to population that isn’t inclined or just refuses to get it.
Pretty much all public health services are rationed in Canada. I should look into the availability of getting a test but I suspect, like most health care here, it’s a long, difficult process.
I figured you were in Canada; I grew up there so I’m familiar with how much of pain in the backside getting even the most basic stuff done can be.
And I’ve also had plenty of arguments with Americans who think “universal healthcare” is a fantastic thing and do not care to hear contrary views from someone who has actually lived under it.
Speaking of the flu shot, last fall I ended up in the ER for something completely unrelated to the flu and part of the standard list of questions was whether I had already gotten that season’s flu shot. I truthfully answered I hadn’t and not long after there was someone arriving with a vial of the stuff. I could have and would have had every right to say no, but I was so out of it I got it. I have a feeling that asking about Covid vaccines will become part of the protocol, if they haven’t already, partly because so they can know which one you had particularly with respect to the blood clot issue, but also that there will probably come a point where you could show up with a broken leg and they’ll happily give you a Covid vaccine.
Agreed… here in Canada (Calgary), everything is a “process”. I prefer to not be “in the system” as much as possible. A government administered test that just “happens” to come up “positive” unleashes a chain of events that I just am not willing to get into.

Something always bothers me about society imposing its way on ‘the vulnerable’. The vulnerable get locked up and can’t see friends or family.
