Ontario orders hospitals to halt non-emergency surgeries as COVID-19 patients fill ICUs

A memo was sent to hospitals Thursday night telling them to postpone their non-emergency surgeries, effective Monday, everywhere but in northern Ontario.

Ontario has roughly 2,000 ICU beds. Emergency patients who don’t have COVID-19 typically fill 1,200 to 1,400 of those beds.

Modelling from Ontario’s COVID-19 Science Advisory Table projects 600 COVID-19 patients in ICUs by the middle of April, and 800 by the end of the month, should current case trends continue.

Ontario already has a backlog of more than 245,000 medical procedures deferred from earlier in the pandemic, according to the most recent provincial data.

Oh, well if the “models” say so.

I’m old enough to remember the January 12th prediction.

  1. So, has anyone in the media asked a very simple question?

How many new cases of CV-19 can be attributed to the “jab” of the toxic solution being doled out by the Feds and Provincial Health Puppet-Masters?
Also, are those who are now jabbed super-spreaders and boldly and proudly walking the streets and entering the businesses and infecting the general population unaware?

    Asking for a friend.

    1. “How many new cases of CV-19 can be attributed to the “jab” of the toxic solution being doled out by the Feds and Provincial Health Puppet-Masters?”

That would be exactly zero point zero zero.
Give it a rest, government incompetence in handling the Wuhan Flu is sufficient, and makes tinfoil hat brigade redundant.

      1. In the Toronto area, they have over 100 plus inspectors scouring around the city to nail anybody they deem breaking this imposed Pandemic laws.
I see our politicians can hire more people to nail your ass rather than fix their broken system.
Add more taxes to pay for these new laws and restrictions.

        Temporarily my ass!

    1. The answer is obvious: those models help accomplish what the government wants to achieve. In other words, the ends justify the means.

  2. I have been pointing out to my pantophobic friends that the government and news outlets won’t give you the number of ICU critical cases and deaths from Chinese Lung AIDS. You have to dig for them. When I point them to the actual numbers and, then show the 2019 numbers for things like flu, heart attacks and Alzheimers, watching the cognitive dissonance is both saddening and amusing.

  3. Canadian style healthcare is where the emphasis is placed on maintaining the facade of patients being cared for at the expense of people getting healthcare.

  4. Simples, Ontario – offer them all MAID.

Over and over and over and over again.

    Til they agree.

    Then kill them.

    Problem solved!

“Well, healthcare is expensive, and you’ve tied-up that hospital bed for four whole days…”

  5. Universal Health Care, incoming National Daycare & Pharmacare and the cherry on top, Universal Basic Income.
Its just pure cradle to grave, sunup to sundown government control. Add cameras everywhere, phone tracking, hurt speech laws, compromised fascist-cops, a corrupt justice system and then mix in the giddiness within so many Canadians to snitch on a neighbor for farting in their general direction and you have an inescapable web that the average citizen cannot escape.

Brought to you by the Misandry Club, which others call the feminist movement, that is replacing the security of a husband and the bond of a nuclear family with the “security” of the state.
    Welcome to the Lockdown Age.

    1. Solution: Test Tube Babies (TTBs).
Cue the eye scratchin’, hair pulling, or in the Chinese case Super Women, nine feet tall….with fangs. Homo Rapians never had a chance!

  6. How many patients are being treated at Sunnybrook’s COVID field hospital?

    /zero is the answer

  7. The real scandal here is how fragile the healthcare system is.

Ottawa. A city of 1.2 million people has 20 Covid patients in ICU.
    And the system is BREAKING.

It’s like this across the country. But the lesson isn’t even registering. Amazing.

    1. Honestly, it’s because it’s not breaking. We’d be getting breathless, live, up-to-the-minute coverage from inside the “battleground” if it were. What we have are lies, talking heads, and misinformed opinions being blasted all over the media landscape, in the hopes it can drown out the cross-country realities. Sure, there may be hotspots here and there, but there doesn’t appear to be any true emergency.

  8. The numbers simply do not support what our governments have foisted upon us.
They are malicious or stupid. For now I am leaning to their stupidity but I have not ruled out malice.
The average age of covid mortality is higher than the age of life expectancy.
The number of deaths with covid has not pushed the annual death toll from all causes significantly higher.
With the vast majority of mortality coming from those who are medically compromised with multiple issues it is unconscionable that the rest of society is being punished to save people who in many cases already have ‘Do Not Resuscitate’ orders on them.
What’s becoming astonishing is the models used by governments do not acknowledge that these medically compromised people can only die once.
There is not an unlimited number of old and medically frail people for the virus to attack.
Our governments have known since last summer what the truth of this is – but they continue to do the same things over and over, expecting a different result.
At what point are they criminally liable for their stupidity?
Their actions are destroying lives, small businesses, educational aspirations, and stealing the pursuit of happiness from everyone.
Support those who are at high risk – let the rest of us march on with our lives.

    1. That’s likely one of the reasons why the death toll is so “high”. In my county there have been about 300 deaths, of which 200 have been in LTC facilities. How many of those people in LTC facilities (1/3 over 90, 2/3 over 80 and 3/4 over 70) received no treatment because they had DNR orders on their files?

  9. They are killing enough of you by not letting you have the treatments that actually get
rid of the ccp virus to scare the rest into getting a vaccine that will make you infertile
and/or kill/maim you within 2 years. wake up neighbors. I am a Texan.

  10. All one needs to do is a 15min survey:
Call the 3 largest funeral homes in your city/area.
After stating you are neither a govt official or reporter… tell em you’re just doing some investigating your own.

Then Ask them if the number of funerals has seen a major uptick since last January.

They will tell you for the asking.
    Answer: NO.

As throughout this NAZIfied country, 100% BS by relying on BS modelling and BS PCR Test.

  11. “Bring out your dead”.
    No dead here.
“Well how about the mildly unwell?”
    “Any with sniffles?”
    “Any old people?”
We can make them dead ,you know.
Quite the Plandemic we got going on here.
Cause it has never come close to Pandemic Status, except in the fevered dreams of those lusting for power.
Power by any means, even by faking a health crisis..

I keep hearing Supertramp”Crisis what crisis”? in the back of my memory banks.

  12. In Alberta over the last month total cases have shot up by roughly 300% to 12K from 4K. Hospitalizations & ICU numbers are both up ~1/3 to the 330’s & 80’s respectively. Death rate hasn’t really changed (2 to 4 ppl/d). The majority of new cases are the more catchy so called “variants” which appear to be significantly more mild. So given that the growth rate in hospitalizations and ICU admissions is 1/9th (almost an order of magnitude lower) on this 3rd spike compared to the last one WHY is Alberta backtracking and re-shutting down small businesses again??? It truly does look like seasonal flu now. If it’s about believing fear mongering models I think we need a lot more common sense and backbone in positions of authority. We can learn a lot from Texas south.

  13. In Ontario, the PCR cycle count for a positive COVID test is 38. For a negative COVID test it is 40. That means if you are negative at 38 then they run the cycle count another 2 times to make sure you are negative! If you show up positive at 40 cycles then they classify it as inconclusive and want you in for another swab. The PCR test should not be run at more than 30 cycles or you start picking up COVID ‘noise’, you could have had a cold or COVID in the past few months and the test is picking that up. My question is what percentage of COVID positive tests is ‘noise’? Studies have shown that positive COVID tests are more than 90 percent ‘noise’. So I only look at CFR and hospital admissions as a true barometer. Right now Canada’s fatality rate is steady and has been for weeks. There is no COVID wave only a false PCR test case wave.

  14. 2000 ICU beds??? That would be one for every 7,000 population. Sounds inadequate. I guess, who needs ICUs when the preferred method of treating old people is medical execution.

  15. Of just over 1 million ‘infections’, more than 952,000 are classed as ‘recovered’. So the balance are comprised of those who have died – 23,000, mostly elderly and ill – and those like myself, still ‘recovering’.

Myself, my wife and four close friends all tested positive nearly 10 days ago. We range in age from 70 – 76 and are otherwise healthy. All six of us can report ‘cold like’ symptoms, a bit of sniffle and the occasional light cough. Nothing more. No headaches, no achy muscles, no chills or fever, no runny noses or chest congestion. I would say I’ve felt a 9/10 the whole time and the others say their experience is much the same.

I’m very curious as to how many of the other 952,000 people would report similar experiences if they had a public voice to do so? The politicians, bureaucrats and media would never be able to enforce these draconian lockdowns if people understood that except for a tiny number of people, it’s nothing more dangerous than a cold.
