  1. I just can’t bring myself to vote for this tool. I have no idea who I am going to vote for but it won’t be this guy.

      Women will vote for the dreamy hair on the young vapid lad who is there only because of Dada’s name and nothing else, but the hair. However, he is in way over his hair.

        Sadly, I may be forced to do the same.

        I was leery about Erin O’Toole even before he won the leadership race…seemed way too “progressive” a conservative for me.

        The PC party died for good reason and it is NOT coming back despite the fervent wishes of a far too large segment of so-called “conservatives”; what they don’t understand (and indeed seem incapable of understanding) is that it’s not just them that want the CPC to “move more to the middle”, it’s the *Liberals* as well. The Liberal Party would be laughing their asses off if that actually occurred, since they know full well that all would they need to do is the old ‘hidden agenda’ fearmongering to lock up the next election. The people who have been conditioned over decades to fear and despise Conservatives and everything they stand for are not going to suddenly decide that those same Conservatives are not so bad after all (pleasing your enemies does NOT make them your friends), and the Conservative base will be so disgusted by yet another attempt to turn us all into Liberals that they will just stay home.

        When he came out, during the leadership convention, in favor of the odious ‘supply management’ (gee, such a nice, innocuous name for a despicable money-grubbing monopoly that would be illegal in any other industry) he lost me right there. The clumsy actions against Derek Sloan just further reinforced my decision (and I’m no social conservative by any means) and this latest climate BS merely added more confirmation that Erin O’Toole is no leader.

        I know this may be sacrilege to the many CPC members and supporters who keep whining, “yes, but if we *don’t* move to the middle more, you’d better get used to being in opposition forever!” (they don’t seem to realize that the Liberals have that position all locked up), but there’s a better way. We could at least TRY to elect a leader who not only has some conservative principles, but could actually sell them. Don’t water down your position and apologize for it…tell the public what you believe is the best position or solution to a problems and then EXPLAIN IT to them. Tell them why your idea is better than the others they have been conned into believing “will work” (but somehow never do). Stand up and defend your position when challenged; when the MSM and your political opponents tell lies about you, EXPOSE them. When they try to confuse the issue and misdirect people, LAUGH AT them. Invite them to debate the issues…taunt them if they run from the challenge.

        Do something. ANYTHING. Get your message out there. You may be surprised to find people actually respecting you for telling them the truth (for a change). Just stop putting out a narrative or a message then immediately running from it when people push back against it; stop being terrified of the Twitter/Facebook bullies who live for insulting and demeaning anything and everything conservative.

        (yeah, I know…I’m dreaming…)

    3. I used to volunteer for the CPC and donate but there’s no way in hell I’ll even renew my membership until he’s gone. Forget about voting for him. If the next leadership process isn’t rigged I’ll consider getting involved again.

    Here in CA … our empty carpool lanes (and crowded “commoner” lanes) have been monetized by The State. Yes, you can now $$Buy$$ your way into the lanes. Sitting in jam-packed traffic lanes … while Tesla’s and Prius’s with FREE carpool lane stickers drive by … wasn’t playing well to the general public … and the State is perennially broke (Supermajority leftist government). So, now, if you can afford it … you can $PAY$ to drive on the freeway that your $$Highest$$ gasoline taxes in the USA already paid-for.

    Oh! Um … yeahhhh … much of these road taxes are diverted into the State’s General Fund, where it is given-away to Illegal Alien services. Yes … CA has the shittiest roads in the entire USA. I know, I’ve driven elsewhere. And since “driving is a sin” … the CA sheep just shrug and beat themselves with a stick.

        They tried the same here in BC. They were all set to implement “mobility pricing” by tolling every bridge and tunnel (and were even talking about the roads as well). What finished them, other than the blatant ‘bait and switch’ pulled by the previous Premier over the Port Mann Bridge “twinning” (yeah, sure), was when they introduced tolls on a bridge used by 150, 000+ vehicles per day by offering them initially at half-price. That was all well and good until just before the election when the *real* price kicked in and people realized that they were now paying over 100 dollars a month for the privilege of driving to work. Then Premier Christy Clark (a Liberal disguised as a Social Credit/Conservative) , suddenly realizing mid-campaign how much support she was losing in Surrey and surrounding areas, helpfully decided to offer to “cap” annual toll payments at “only” 1500 dollars per year.

        She lost Surrey, and the government. Over shortsightedness and greed.

      2. Well…the QEW has a high occupancy vehicle lane between Burlington and Oakville and you can get a permit to use it if you are solo driver. $180 for 3 months. You have to apply each time and after 3 renewals you are no longer eligible to apply until the next quarter.
        I bought the permit for a couple of years because it saved me time ony morning commute.

  7. Why does he have to argue climate change with anybody? Whatever, a non issue. Action is what matters. Ditch all federal carbon taxes, past and present, force bureaucrats to make due with less. I remember being told that as Chretien dismantled the military.

    Do more with less. Do better with less. Peace and order come before not after or because of good, not big government.

    Money is power to the Grit establishment, not their brethren elsewhere. Deny them one, they won’t be able to wield the other.

  8. Watching this crap, I sit with two completed Income Tax Returns in their envelopes (nothing owed, fancy that!) and ponder if I should even mail the damned things. Yeah, MAIL. After 800,000 online accounts were “tampered” with recently, and they aren’t even sure on that number, I’ll stick with what I’ve done since I first filed taxes….MAIL. Backups are already filed away if Canaduh Post can’t rise to the challenge.
    These clowns and their Snivel Serpent “aides” all got raises at the peak of Chinah Flu while you sat at home unemployed and we watch the results of their feckless attempts at “democracy” and “governing”? They couldn’t get a job in Hollywierd FCOL! And the hair!

    1. I was emailed one of those notices that my personal Revenue Canada account was suspended and to reapply again through the official Canada Revenue.
      Did all the bells and whistles to get it going again and it failed. Suppose to call after March 22. Not going to bother with the hassle.
      I did my Income Tax through HR Block on March 23 and had no problems.
      They did say that our governments still want taxes done by the end of April.
