It might not occur to you, because you are not a bizarre wierdo, but a lot of people really love the pandemic. Not just the little fascist gnome who changes his #science advice more often than a Wellesley girl changes her preferences during her sophomore year experimental phase, and not just the fascist pols who get off on exploiting their emergency powers to boss people around, but even some regular people. The masks, the paranoia, the constant talk about vaccines – some people love this stuff.

It has never been a better time to be a bulging eyed,red-faced, pop-a-blood-vessel-on-the-forehead-from-self-rightous-anger Karen.
The Grate Reset
Big cold hard cash is made through the business of fear–
nice job, sicko governments. /s
Love Kurt’s writing and love repeating his observations to my libtard friends, including “the facist little gnome”
“They could do their diversity consulting or whatever at home alongside their many cats and allow themselves to be swept away by the excitement of the pandemic.”
When you need a smile during all this insanity.
Karens at the big box stores get off on telling people to wear their mask properly or to follow the random arrows on the floor, and really get excited when someone doesn’t comply so they get to threaten them and report them to security!!! For them it is so exciting to see the chance of physical violence break out and knowing they’ve done their part for everyone’s safety!!! Yup, we’re already there… only just missing the arm bands, marching and salutes.
All their lives they’ve waited for moments like that.
My wife seems to attract them. Maybe because she’s a tiny little old lady but she can’t go through a store without having some Karen quite literally yell at her. Store rules vary by store so it’s impossible to not break a rule. They all also require only one person/family at a time. Due to the abuse she’s been getting I have started going in with her anyway. When a Karen starts up about that, I pretend I am senile and my wife tells them she can’t leave me in the car because I might wander off but if the offended one would like to sit with me in the car instead, she’d be ever so grateful. They have all just left us alone after that.
I’m curious, what age bracket are these Karen’s in? I find it’ the women in their 60’s who are totally possessed it’s Covid hysteria,
“but a lot of people really love the pandemic”
Yes, they really, really love it. It is as newfound religion, something they can identify with, gives them the reason to live, however shortened.
You may remember, in the 90’s, could be a bit earlier, there was a case of a woman that wanted to die. The guy that was supporting her in it, said after the judges put a pause to it, that it was his life’s work, said something to the effect, what am I gonna do now?
This is something the useless and empty-headed masses can fill their brain with.
These wierdos get the thrill of being embroiled in a disaster without the danger. If they truly believed this flu was a threat, they’d stay home with their cats.
These people loved the idea of a global warming catastrophe, but the effects are not happening fast enough to elicit the fear that the “Pandemic” has brought about. The “Pandemic” has truly made their life purpose fulfilled.
Nothing new here, just perhaps the scale/acuteness/persistence.
Some people love the climate change scare. Some loved the energy crisis. Some loved the threat of terrorism from the middle east. Some loved the nuclear energy scare. Some loved the measures taken during WWII to control society.
What’s different about this? Maybe that those hell-bent on virtue signaling are joined to an institution–medical professionals (now medical mouthpieces, a la social media)–that through so much of the 20th/21st century carried ultimate trust. Life or death; that’s your choice.
How ironic (and yet not surprising) that the moral virtuousness most loudly proclaimed by those embracing the fear itself is an agent of death (suicides, domestic violence, alcoholism, drug addiction)–and that this faction of society (I would argue) overlaps so much with those who so loudly insist on the right to kill (in the womb) as a way to keep their lives ‘perfect’.
Too many in my family to discuss here…all Toronto centric.
Three will not speak to me because I am quite outspoken about the fallacy of lockdowns, and I had the nerve to post very informative vids on social media.
They wear their masks with virtue, and suffer the absence of family get togethers with pride.
The only message I have received lately is the mass email where they gush over their vaccine dates.
Similarly, they hated Trump.
I save them agony by not mentioning how many large family gatherings we have enjoyed all year. I really think they would loose sleep on that.
I pity them.
