    1. Do the ships bringing crude from the Saudis to Maritime refineries, pass through the Suez Canal?

        1. I first heard about Hackaday through an amateur radio podcast that I used to listen to. All sorts of things to tinker and experiment with are presented on that site.

    1. Nancy – given this week’s forecast, isn’t that just mean? However, I hear the rest of the province south and east really could use the snow that is supposedly coming our way, so I’ll just hunker down for another day or two and hope most of the moisture gets where it is needed.

      1. Yes, I conserved a couple of inches of new snow yesterday and shoveled it on the lawn rather than let it go literally down the drain. No worries in the city but the ranchers need the water table full– gets dry come July.

  1. Getting back to what really matters and that is the last election in America. You know the one that the Dems claim was the most secure and fair in US history, well it seems there is a very big shadow over that claim and it gets bigger everyday. Now it is Wisconsin that is front and centre.

    https://www.dailysignal.com/2021/03/23/democrats-operative-got-secret-internet-connection-at-wisconsin-election-center-emails-show/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=democrats-operative-got-secret-internet-connection-at-wisconsin-election-center-emails-show

So Arizona, New Hampshire, Georgia, Michigan and now Wisconsin all seem to be having trouble with leaked e-mails and other things that indicate the election wasn’t as fair and secure as the Democrats and their Allies in the media have been spouting for months.

    1. Everyone knows it was stolen, that’s why the Capitol is surrounded by wire fences; are the troops still there? It’s a sign of Pelosi’s paranoia. Like Lady MacBeth, the crime eats away at her. This is why the Dems are looting the treasury as rapidly as possible.

      1. Unlike Lady Macbeth, Peolsi hasn’t taken her own life. I’ve always likened Jill Biden to Lady Macbeth, myself. We are currently in the banquet scene and she is getting a little nervous about her husband’s behaviour. Beer and popcorn, indeed!

        1. Ah, but what happened to her dog? After all, wasn’t that what was meant by “Out, damned Spot”?

          1. I can’t claim credit for that line. It’s an oldie but a goodie and I can’t remember where or when I first heard of it.

Mind you, I recall seeing a Punch cartoon many years ago which showed a housewife trying to remove a stubborn stain from a shirt, proclaiming “Out, damned spot!”

          2. That sounds like something from Punch. I have “The Punch Cartoon Album, 150 Years of Classic Cartoons” published in 1990. So very British. You might appreciate this one: two cavemen staring at a wall covered in drawings of a hunt, and one says, “Art, art, art – when are we going to get some engineers?”

    2. Yes. Everyone who has bothered to look at the evidence knows it was stolen. That is why that goon from DOJ wants all the corporations to sign a letter attesting to the legitimacy of the election. If that goes forward, undoubtedly companies will be harassed if they refuse to sign. If they were smart, they could add a PS to the form letter: “And, We also agree that global warming is real.”

  2. Blacklock reports that Infrastructure Barbie’s bank has not attracted one penny of private investment.

  3. Liberal MP from Kingston spent time in parliament yesterday ranting that a Conservative MP blocked him on twitter. How dare she do that. Expect lots of debate about this atrocity in the fake parliament for weeks.

    1. He doesn’t give a shit because he knows he’s toast and locking the party into following the Government narrative.
Even though he state’s that the Carbon Tax is dead, he’s a politician and they never tell the truth anymore.
This way the mainstream media gives him a pass and won’t crucify his ass.

    2. L – He was confirming his solidarity with the Trudeau regime, Dr. Tam and W.H.O.(C.C.P.).

If he was, for example, to enter the scientific evidence contradicting the medical malpractice
advocated by the government, along with calling for the highly qualified physicians/medical
researchers willing to testify before a House Committee. The masquerade would become
      obvious.

The four Party leaders agree on one principle about freedom of information for the public.
“The Truth ? You can’t handle the Truth!” and “There is no truth, only power, ours.”

  4. Blackie’s Toronto Star and Casino is upset that to many white people are riding their bikes. Biking needs to diversify and have more blacks on bike lanes/trails.

    1. I’m professionally registered in 3 provinces. If the respective magazines the associations produce are to be believed, “divesity” is the #1 issue facing our business. We are told to be more “inclusive” and “accommodating” blah blah blah.

I’m glad I’m no longer practicing.

  5. Yet another very good analysis explaining that lockdowns don’t work to stop the spread of Covid: https://www.aier.org/article/lockdowns-do-not-control-the-coronavirus-the-evidence/?fbclid=IwAR3j042Pnd8Ew6ztrnfhogN44MedJgfrecT2PdEJODGsqXvsPE6fiVPctfs

So why do governments continue to pretend that they do? I think it is in part that too many people think governments can fix everything. Governments respond by pretending they can. It’s comforting. Unfortunately, it is also a very childish belief. It is time governments stop treating citizens like children. The other constraint against moving away from the lockdown narrative is that governments are resistant to even thinking they have made a mistake, let alone admitting it.

    1. It’s long past time for citizens to stop behaving like children. Stop believing that third rate (at best) scientists working in the bureaucracy have more wisdom or knowledge than the average person.

  6. This John Robson column regarding O’Toole’s convention wreck is a must read and far better than similar columns from other NP persons.

    https://nationalpost.com/opinion/john-robson-what-was-erin-otoole-thinking-you-may-ask

It has a comment so good it needs to be excerpted: ” Truly conservative policies may not win elections at this time, but adopting liberal ones while basically claiming to be more competent at administering them, will only win the odd election. As soon as the conservatives balk on something, the liberals accuse them of being regressive and come back into power. This dynamic then repeats at intervals. Harper was only the most recent example. Meanwhile, the NDP holds its values, drives the liberals left, and never wins federally.

Conservatives, if they believe in something, need to decide what they believe in, argue coherently for it, and reconcile themselves to a long stint in the wilderness. If what they believe actually makes sense, and leftist policy doesn’t work, eventually people will listen. At least such an approach will make some difference, preserve their self-respect, and cause people to at least respect their integrity. Their current approach achieves none of those things – and still loses elections. ” -Anthony Mirvish

    1. Bring back….
      Drums beating…
      The REFORM party.
      Remember Preston Manning?
Seems our governments tend to corrupt themselves over time as our politicians turn to shit.

      1. Yeah, but how far did Reform get the west? Many of us believed the party’s codswallop about “the west wants in”. What we got was 40 wasted years and nothing to show for it.

      2. The Reform party had positive features and also some serious serious failures. Bad ads, bad candidates. Manning. Social conservatism.

  7. Please do not flame me for posting a Guardian link here. It is a fairly good, although fairly complicated, article about why Europe (and other countries) will be seeing a serious inflation in the not-too-distant future:
    https://www.theguardian.com/business/2021/mar/24/why-is-no-one-in-europe-talking-about-dangers-of-rising-inflation

Kate a number of months ago posted a Bank of Canada chart showing that Canada’s money supply grew astronomically during the middle of 2020. This is what the above writer is saying, whereby he takes the reader step by step through the money creation process.

With Justin Trudeau’s Liberals, as is elsewhere, it is preached that the free money, during the lockdowns, have no opportunity costs. The establishment left states that all governments have to do is to tax the rich, and all the free money is good, and all will be fine. But they do not tell of the upcoming inflation, which is a tax on everybody, including the poor.

This is the crux of left-wing policy: favour the powerful, vested interests, and to hell with the common good. Inflation hurts the common good, since it hits everybody.

Btw, my wife shopped at Sobey’s yesterday, and when the cashier rang in a roll of aluminum foil for $8.99, my wife rejected the purchase. We will not be buying any more aluminum foil. Our stock portfolio is very overweight in primary metals, including aluminum production.

  8. Canadian authorities expelled eight terrorists and spies in 2020, but decided not to tell the public about it — because of violating the privacy of the said terrorists and spies:
    https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/article-canada-expelled-eight-foreigners-for-terrorism-spying-in-2020/

“Eight foreigners suspected of espionage, subversion or terrorism were removed from Canada last year, according to the federal government.

The department of Public Safety would not reveal the countries that the individuals were acting on behalf of, citing privacy laws, nor the specific nature of their activities in Canada.

“However, we can tell you that in 2020, the CBSA [Canada Border Services Agency] removed eight individuals deemed inadmissible on security grounds,” Public Safety spokesman Tim Warmington said in a statement. “Removal on security grounds may include persons who are found inadmissible for espionage, subversion, terrorism and/or for membership in groups involved in such activities.”

The Globe and Mail had asked the government how many foreigners were expelled for espionage in 2020 after Australia’s spy director, Mike Burgess, revealed last week that his country had removed or rendered inoperative a “significant number” of foreign spies in 2020.

“I’m talking about a number in the double figures,” Mr. Burgess told Australian news media.

Mr. Warmington said Public Safety “cannot give information regarding specific removals, including confirming or denying if a specific person has been removed.”

Andy Ellis, a former assistant director of operations at the Canadian Security Intelligence Service, said that in his experience, the nationalities of individuals removed for espionage tended to be Iranian, Chinese, Russian or Pakistani.

“But I’ve seen North Koreans. I’ve seen others as well. Ones [whose nationality] you would be very surprised at,” he said.

Mr. Ellis said there were times where intelligence officials would want foreigners admitted who might otherwise be rejected so they could try to recruit them. But proposals such as that would encounter significant resistance inside government.

Richard Fadden, a former CSIS director who served as national-security adviser to two prime ministers, said that it’s very difficult to counter espionage and foreign interference in Canada because this country is an open society that doesn’t have massive resources to devote to this”.

    ****
Again, with the Trudeau Liberal government, to hell with the overall public interest. It is the Spies’ and terrorists’ “privacy” that counts.

  9. Since the mainstream media is so overwhelmingly wedded to China virus scaremongering and the on-going need for lockdowns, why do they not keep Canadians up-to-date on the vaccine roll-out? According to Bloomberg, Canada is currently in 42nd place on doses administered per capita, at 5.6% of the population. Even countries such as Morocco, at 9.6%, are well ahead of Canada.

Could it be because regularly reporting on this number would undermine the reign of the Supreme Leader who funds the mainstream media with taxpayer money?

    https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/covid-vaccine-tracker-global-distribution/#global

  10. There is a new double varient of the China virus in India. In related news the media reports that cases of the China virus are on every daily flight from India. But don’t worry, Great Leader Adolf The Magnificent is looking after us.

  11. This is how “the narrative” is pronounced:

My local newscaster who deliberately pronounces her own name in the most proper of ethnic tones … and even gives a phonetic instruction for the uninitiated “white folk” (as if she isn’t one) on her bio page …

    https://www.ktvu.com/person/m/gasia-mikaelian

Is pronouncing the “Colorado shooters” name as “Ahh-medd Ahh-Lyssa”. Dear ‘Gahhcctzia’ (as she pronounces her own name) ; the correct Syrian pronunciation of Ahmed Al Aliwi Alissa is:

    Acchh’med AL AhLEEwee ALeeeezzzah

Please make a note of it

  12. One for the people. Angela Merkel dropped the plan for an ultra restrictive Easter lockdown due to huge backlash by Germans and other politicians.
The story is linked at Zero Hedge.
Canadians need to wake up and start pushing back the way people in other countries appear to be doing.
The Canadian elected members of parliament from all parties must get back in the house and do the work needed to end this authoritarian lockdown and tell Blackie to stop acting like a reclusive little dictator who doesn’t seem to want an end to this bullshit.

  13. The finance minister for Justin Ford just gave his budget speech. 33 billion dollar deficit. Lots of money for indians, women, and blacks. And the finance minister reminded us that systematic racism is running rampant in Ontario.

  14. True North reports that over forty thousand dollars was spent to study the abandoned barn at Blackie’s cottage. Its only money.
