For all you Karens and Kevins out there.Here’s a little test you can try. Put your mask on as best as you can. Then spray some air freshener into the air and wait.
After a few seconds if you can smell its artificial floral scent, your mask won’t protect you from a virus.
There is a difference between prevention and reduction.
Only isolation will prevent you from getting COVID.
Masks will reduce the risk and should probably be used by and around the most vulnerable.

Masks do not help prevent the spread of Covid 19. It even says so on the side of the box.
It’s hard to tell. Most of the stuff inside the box (where most of the specs are) is written in Chinese. The only part I could understand said for gwailou use only.
These masks are meant for short term use in a sterile surgery type situation to prevent spittle from landing on the patient. They are not meant for long term use.
In fact they are known to contribute and cause the following when used for long term use –
Oxygen deprivation, Various bacterial throat infections including strep throat, tooth decay, Carbon dioxide toxicity, Lowered immune system, Effects on heart rate, Thermal stress, just to name a few.
Long term use of these masks are dangerous, and they do not stop the spread of Covid 19. In fact it’s been shown that the air you intake with an N95 mask, 30% goes through the mask while the other 70% goes in around the edges. It’s also interesting to point out that the Covid 19 virus is small enough to pass straight through a mask anyway.
Unless the masks are N95 or better, they will do nothing to reduce the risk and probably will increase it.

In BC, the infection and death rates went up AFTER mandatory masks and lockdowns happened, the inverse of what the experts said what would happen.
Just wear a pair of glasses wearing a mask, that will tell anyone what kind of FILTER a mask is, as in NOT a filter whatsoever.

It’s frankly troubling that we even have to explain this to canadians. You’d think that people who live anywhere where winter weather occurs would be able to determine for themselves that masks are ineffective. Who, with even a limited amount of functioning brains cells would accept medical advice from the likes of Time magazine. Unless you are sick, in which case you should stay home, masks are all about government control and compliance.
As early as 1946 the scientist have studied the effectiveness of masks in preventing viral infections. Only N95 masks in a controlled environment have shown a small reduction in infections. But with covid and mask mandates our Professional class, smug overlords could deflect from their incompetence and blame the public by insisting that mask work but the public isn’t following their advice and that’s why the virus is spreading.
Out for a walk today and approaching me was a 60 something couple. Neither of them had masks on and neither did I. But as they got to about 15 feet away the lady pulled up a neck gator over her face, passed me and then she pulled it back down. She’s convinced, i suppose from the daily fear porn she watches on the local news, the virus is that contagious that in about a one second span of time it took to for us to pass it could somehow exit me and enter her with such a viral load that would infect her and cause illness. BUT… the mask saved her you see. Proves the power of propaganda that seemingly ‘normals’ can become this fearful and irrational. I’ve been convinced for several months now that we’ll see people wearing masks for the rest of our lives.
I see the same crap every day. I will not move out of the way for these people, nor will I acknowledge their presence.

Truth be told, we could probably achieve a greater reduction in transmission if we simply instructed everyone to breathe through their noses.

Equally as farcical is the obsession with making sure one’s nose is completely covered. Assuming that was the intent, Francisco, you’ve got to communicate more clearly. How many people are going to notice the date in the article, tie it back to the post title, and guess the intended message? Judging by the responses, not that many.
