They Went From “Flatten The Curve” To “Put Your Hands Behind Your Back” So Fast We Didn’t Even Notice

HERE THERE BE TASERS: Premier Francois Legault announced a “shock therapy” of several new lockdown measures on Wednesday afternoon.

Your official government watchdogs welcome the “heavy police presence”.

Selley: Because governments can’t get their act together and some critical mass of citizens can’t or won’t take the precautions necessary not to spread and catch the virus, you can’t go for a healthy walk after 8 p.m. in Canada’s second-most-populous province unless you have a dog.

Meanwhile, at Pallister Penitentiary – COVID cops fine mask exempt Manitoba man, tracked down with co-op code and security footage.

  1. It would seem that the only rights the people have are the ones the government allows them to have.
All the charters, declarations and documents in the world mean nothing.

    1. As Canadians always chide me (a Californian) … I get the government I voted for. Nope. I never voted for a single one of them.

    2. The Irreverent “Charter” the liberals cherish and referred to by many foisted upon us by comrade Trudeau actually limits our rights. It specifically says our rights can be denied at the whim of those who decide they are.
The right to liberty, speech and most importantly the right to self preservation and security of the person are inherent. These rights are not granted and therefore cannot be denied by a self serving politician with an agenda to subvert. The right to bear arms to protect ones life cannot be denied. They will will not bring this to the Supreme Court.

  2. So Canada is upset at fascist China for arresting demonstrators in Hong Kong, but its ok to arrest demonstrators breaking the curfew in Quebec.

    1. Don’t you just feel like one big petri dish of an experiment?
See what reactions each experiment provokes.
Remix and try again until….ahhhh the breaking point.

Reminds me of an ant colony…
Being disturbed, moved and tried again.

    2. What did I miss?
Did Trudeau actually *issue a statemant* expressing his disappointment in China? Link please

    3. You need to be off the street no later than 8pm.The Virus is much more deadly after 8 pm, Go walk and shopping at Whole Foods store, it might save your life.

    4. I am sure Little Potato had his comments approved by the Chinese Ministry before he said them to give the appearance of god knows what.
Certainly not competence or working for Canada’s interests.

  3. No need to wonder how the Nazi and Communist butchers took over. People give up their human rights in a blink and actively attack those that claim their rights. The Nazis were the Karens as were the Stasi.

      1. Particularly when there’s more profit in being a camp guard than a dissident.

  4. The cops love this shit.
They get free coffee and donuts while patrolling empty streets.
    No car accidents.
    No drunks.
    “Montre-moi tes papiers.”
They get to fine people, maybe chase a few, maybe Taser some and if lucky, even shoot someone.
They’re probably all looking to get on the night shift.

    1. Not only that but they get what amounts to paid time off to attend the court case when the time comes.
There are more costs incurred than the time it takes to issue the ticket.

      1. It reminds me of a story I heard about the British coal miner strike in the early 1980s. Apparently some of the police gave their quiet verbal approval of the strike and protests because it meant more overtime for them.

        1. Worse than that. The miners and their families were starving and the cops were boasting about how much overtime money they were making to incite the miners to violence. When we moved into an old coal mining town in the north of England in 1994, anti-police feeling was still strong. So strong that protestors were not manhandled in those areas during the fuel protests in 2000.

          1. The miner unions were on Kremlin’s payroll, Iron Lady was right to crush them. They should have been give free helicopter rides Courtesy of Pinochet Helicopter Rides and Rentals.

        2. A excellent example why unions should be banned from all publicly paid services.
All levels: bureaucrats, teachers, police and anyone I missed.
They collude globally to push a marxist agenda.
An example: Climate change polls at the bottom of the public’s perceived problems of the world but bureaucrats steal billions a day pretending they are saving the planet. The climate change mantra denies third world countries cheap reliable sources of electricity which is the most effective way to raise their standards of living. totally disgusted with these “climatologists” and NGO’s pushing this.
Some are pushing back: check out False Alarm by Lomberg and Apocalypse Never by Shellenberger.
If they think they are going to implement COVID style lockdowns over climate change….

    2. You forgot lead pipe lock $100,000 a year and gubmint union protection from everything for life.

      1. No sticks and pucks allowed for kids on Ottawa outdoor rinks but the Senators can play in the arena.

          1. “Hello, Doctor? I’m curfewing at home–with full pay and benefits, you understand–and I’ve got a severe case of remoter’s thumb because of all the channel switching I’m doing while I sit on my backside doing nothing.”

  5. Seems the wanna bees up here don’t want to be left out of the big cull coming to their kind in the USA.
The “modelled pandemic” never came close to being real.
Yet 10 months later our “experts and helpers” are demanding we do the same panicked rituals they insisted on ,for two weeks, to “Save the healthcare system”.
    Pay attention to their actions.
They spend money, not on measures to treat an illness, but on controlling the public.
Hiring more compliance officers and mobilizing more police.

Then ,those who insist we act as if there is an emergency situation, justifying their abuses of our rights and freedoms(such as they are)..Take annual vacations to sunny climes, cause it is their right..Or they know there is no emergency.
For the politicians and bureaucrats best positioned to have all the facts, certainly act as if there is no urgency or emergency.
The lessons of the Dread Covid, will be many.
Foremost, the cure,as brought by government,is far more deadly than the virus.
    Next?
Healthcare is dead,it was a stumbling corpse before Covid and got no help during this plandemic.
Surrender all your freedoms,to save the healthcare system, for “just two weeks” which became 10 months?
    System cannot be saved.
That the government agencies, set up and maintained with great swathes of taxpayer dollars,to provide the citizen with accurate information on threats to public health, which would allow the citizen to make informed decisions in their own interests..
    ARE USELESS.
After 10 months of idiocy, posturing and self contradiction ?
Do you have any better information,as to the nature of the Dread Covid now?
    Thanks to Health Canada?

It seems to me we are back to the beginning,oh look,it is a corona virus of the common cold family, for which no vaccine has been developed…
And now the miracle vaccines, provide no immunity and at least 3 new mutations are roaming free.
Except we now know how damaging government help is.
How utterly useless the “government experts” are.
And how willing the bureaucrats are to use every opportunity to stomp on us.
With the willing help of those fools and bandits we call politicians.

    1. But after the Pandemic, everything is suppose to go back to normal.

After all…we’re all in this together.
      (popular political phrase).

      1. But after the Pandemic, everything is suppose to go back to normal.

My elderly aunt actually believes that.

    2. Well said.
All the while we pay these “Chief Medical Officers” $450,000 a year.
The “Deputy Chief Medical Officer” $350,000 a year and how many hold that title, 5+??
All this to just take orders from the corrupt WHO??
      Fire. Them. All.
I suggest a new rule, sort of like Godwins Law. We can call it say, COVID Rule No 1.
      It goes as such:
Any public servant or elected official that says “lockdown” or facsimile thereof is automatically fired. All future compensation and or pensions will be forfeit from that moment.

We need to take back our rights.

  6. Someone is going to end up shot in the face. I suspect it’ll be one of those
‘Ticket Book Ninja’s’ and then all hell will break loose. There is absolutely no medical/virilogical reason for this curfew, it’s a power move, plain and simple.

      1. No benefit to lockdowns either. There is simply no correlation between lockdowns and lower trandmission/death rate. It is all horrifying really, to realize that the government is filled with ignorance. Rather than doing this stuff across the board, they should have policy people looking at the actual data. These measures are not protecting people from the virus.

        1. It is all horrifying really, to realize that the government is filled with ignorance.

You’re only figuring it out now?

    1. Co-Ops are deep left Commie organizations. At least they always have been in BC.

      Anti-profit and unionized. Nuff said.

        1. Except that he would have to sue them in a BC court, where a communist judge and a lobotomized jury would soon force him to pay the co-op’s court costs.

  7. Shrug. Our bought-and-paid-for media may well be cherry-picking their responses, but 4 out of 5 interviewed by CTV in Gatineau said it was a necessary thing.

It wouldn’t surprise me if this ratio was a pretty accurate reflection of Canada as a whole.

    1. Never trust the selective street responses. Heavily and selectively edited. Confirmation bias.

      1. Did a survey this morning with a well-known canadian poll company.
After 3 initial questions that referred to shut down, if it should continue, if I would go into a restaurant, responding inappropriately, as in not to their expectations, the survey told me that ‘ooops’ they don’t need my opinion.
        End of story.

        1. Yup….I have had the same thing happen several times. But, I almost always lie to pollsters anyway. It’s great fun.

        2. I got a call from a polling company yesterday. This was a political poll. Who would I support if an election were called today: 1 Liberal, 2 NDP 3 Conservative 4 Green 5 Undecided. I pressed 3. It went back to the same question. I responded in the same fashion. Repeated again. I should have answered differently to see what would have happened.

    2. A lot of people value safety over freedom. I will do what I’m told and you take care of me. That’s the deal they think is there. Lots of Canadians think like this. It is why we are where we are.

      1. They are the first to steal your liberty in exchange for false security. The Wendy Cuckiers of the world are just plain evil. Their most evil phrase, “If it saves just one life…”

  8. The sooner this day comes the better I hope the citizens do not wait to long, for payback.
“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? After all, you knew ahead of time that those bluecaps were out at night for no good purpose. And you could be sure ahead of time that you’d be cracking the skull of a cutthroat.”

― Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago 1918–1956

    1. As a kid in a socialist country run by communists in the middle 50′ of the past century at the height of hunt for the undesirables, as it some times happened, when there was unexpected ringing the door on our apartment, my parents would look at each other a wonder it their time was up.
For no other reason than they went to church on Sunday.
Eventually the ‘for the common good crowd’ decided that my father was not a good enough cadre and lost a job at the department of agriculture.
Today, it’s as though dejavu all over again.
Sometimes you think that these little dicktators (sic) just can’t stop the destruction of the souls.

    2. My grandmother lived through that before fleeing to the West. She told us “never register your guns”. Wise advice.

  9. I burst into tears watching this. Don’t youse peoplez know that peoplez are dying? Lying in a sweat soaked bed, coughing up their lungs, their eyes crazed with fear … fear of Duh-Death? And why are these peoplez dying? Because of Youse! Youse put them on that cold morgue slab because youse did not wear a facey covering. I hope youse feel bad. I feelz better knowing youse feelz bad.

    1. I have a cousin in a long-term care home and he caught the bug from one of the staff working there. His elderly mother, my aunt, went all into panic mode about it and has bombarded me by e-mail with all sorts of “advice” and “evidence” intended to convert me, the mask apostate, into doing whatever horse puckey the government tells me.

Then again, my cousin is the real genius in the family, buying his Ph. D. from a boiler room university, so I guess anything he says can be believed.

    2. Had a Karen go ballistic on me a few weeks ago: “Aren’t you afraid you’ll kill somebody!?”. I looked her dead in the eyes and said “No”.

  10. Re Quebec – we know some people who work in hospitals there – Tois Riviere is filled with Covid cases – but here is the kicker – most are asymptomatic – no symptoms.

So given the fact that a can of coke or a goat can test positive – I would posit that asymptomatic positive is actually not infected at all – or at least not with any sort of highly communicable strong version of the virus.

So actually sick people who need medical treatment cant get it.

Trudeau is putting up illegal immigrants in hotels in Quebec – why not do the same with the asymptomatic and leave room in hospitals for actual sick people?

    Rhetorical question of course

    1. “Trudeau is putting up illegal immigrants in hotels in Quebec – why not do the same with the asymptomatic and leave room in hospitals for actual sick people?”

How about just leave the asymptotic people the fuck alone?

      1. That’s because the asymptomatic strain of the virus is the real threat. “We have to lock you up…… just in case….. for everyone’s safety, you know. We need to make sure. Better safe than sorry. If you die while being locked up, you’ll die safe.”

    2. Asymptomatic patients are prefered by the hospitals. Easy to treat, less risk to staff, and keeping the beds full = more $.

  11. The charter is a piece of toilet paper. Prove me wrong. I fondly remember when the press was telling us a lockdown wouldn’t be possible in Canada.

    1. Sadly, I cannot prove you wrong. S.1 makes it a bogus document right off the bat.
      1. The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the rights and freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.

Any court will agree with the tyrants it is reasonable if it applies to everyone.

      1. L-A Charter infringement obligates the government to prove via. an Oakes Test:
        1. The reason for the infringement is serious enough to justify the infringement.
        2. Provide sufficient evidence that the infringement actually achieves the purpose.
        3. The degree of infringement is the minimal possible to achieve the purpose.

All this is subject to challenge via cross-examination, evidence submitted by testimony and weight of the scientific evidence for and against. Hence, why John Carpay and Roco Galati are publicly and via court process, challenging the lock down policies.

No government is taking up the offer to debate them publicly on it’s policies !!!
Sunlight is the disinfectant the vampire fears the most. Darkness hides the serpent.

If the public gets to see the sheer weight of damage to human health, even the shutdown of the economy itself has caused plus: the drug overdose deaths to skyrocket, increased suicides follow a downturn in the economy, domestic violence rises, children being brought to hospital suffering from a beating, sometimes fatal by parents, ones who have lost control due the distress due to the lock down. The shutdown/delays of cancer diagnosis and treatment alone is in the tens of thousands, though it can take years for the lower survival rate deaths to show up in the statistics. The same with heart disease. Anti-viral therapeutics outlawed by regulation for use by clinicians and the relevant studies internationally. It’s long list and if or when this becomes public knowledge. The game is up.

The more this knowledge is public, the greater the pressure on the judiciary to rule in favour of a Charter Challenge is valid to proceed. From there either the gov’t. throws the bureaucrats under the bus or vice-versa.

The media acting as P.R. firms for the gov’t. only a few acknowledge publicly there are Charter challenges. Those always boastfully the gov’t. case will pass a Charter challenge, but provide no details and allow no cross-examination or counter evidence.

If the government violates the Constitution either by suppressing the process or by failing the (Oakes Test) publicly. They’ve publicly declared: There is no rule of law.

If Gov’t. bureaucrats start a civil war. They risk: both that they’ll win and that there will be anything or anyone remaining to govern. Bureaucrat-Utopians fail to understand the infrastructure, level of organized/skill and effort by individuals required for modern societies to create wealth, each day. The symbiosis on which, they are parasites.

    1. Now I have an excuse to have my canine step-brother stay with me when I’m at my house in B. C. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind that in the least.

      1. Pretty soon they will be going door to door to collect your dog in the name of public safety. And you will never see it again. Try protesting and you will not be heard from for a long time, or ever. It is coming.

        1. I’d probably be arrested for dog-napping because the little guy doesn’t actually belong to me any more. He’s registered in the name of the family that adopted him but his batching with me once in a while was part of the original arrangement.

    1. I would LOVE to see Trudeau’s face when it is made clear that President Trump has 4 more years….PRICELESS…

  12. The Quebec SPCA is having a run on dogs. Every dog they have in the Dog Pound will get a home in the next couple of days in Quebec.

Pretty soon the Quebec SPCA will have a callout to all SPCA’s across Canada to ship their dogs to Quebec so they can have a good home.

It is illegal to go for a walk after 8:00 PM unless you are walking a dog. Go Figure.

  13. The last time some poor smuck asserted his charter of rights and freedom, some liberal judge ruled sorry but the Gobernment knows best. Our rights aren’t worth the paper they are written upon. The case was about carrying more than one case of beer across the New Brunswick boarder.

    1. When everyone refers to the worthless Charter, it is like playing by the devil’s rules and expecting him to be fair.

Pierre Trudeau went to the former Soviet Union and used that as a basis for this legal toilet paper.

  14. Don’t you love the police surveillance state we’re under and how the police always send you the photo of your infraction? Forget about taking this to court because there you are or your car’s license number right in the middle of the photo.
When you join a Co-op your membership entitles you to receive a membership number and that’s the number that was used to track down this ‘criminal’.
I would sometimes help out a neighbor who didn’t have a number shop at the Co-op and when they asked for his number at the check-out he’d always laugh and say the same thing,
“I’m #1 or at least that’s what Mom always told me”

  15. What’s next – telling you your windows must be locked tight and your doors closed? You deserve what you tolerate.

  16. I broke the rules intentionally at Christmas. My family gathered in a single home. Half the adults in my family are doctors. Thats all I need to know about the effectiveness of the restrictions.

  17. I don’t understand how lockdowns or curfews ‘stop the virus’. The virus will mutate, all by itself, to a different form that enables it to spread more easily – and lockdowns or curfews won’t stop this ongoing self-organized adaptive action. Once lockdowns/curfews are ended, the virus won’t have died out; it will simply revitalize itself and spread more rapidly.

The image of a virus as akin to a biological organism, which, if you isolate it, the species will go extinct – isn’t valid for a virus. The virus will simply go dormant and will ‘wait’ until new hosts appear – and – spring back into action.

So- I simply don’t understand the reason for the lockdowns and curfews.

    1. So- I simply don’t understand the reason for the lockdowns and curfews.

Since when has the government ever acted on anything based on logic, reason, and actual facts?

      1. BADP – yes, that’s an answer of sorts but..not really.

I acknowledge after having spent over a year dealing with my sister’s estate and as POA for my brother, that the incompetence, ignorance and sheer monumental indifference of our bureaucratic class is mind-boggling.

But – I still have to wonder why and how they come up with a rule that, medically and scientifically, will not stop the virus – because a virus is not like a cellular organism. It’s not a species where, if you herd them all into a barn and isolate them – the species will go extinct.

A virus can ‘go dormant’ [known as viral latency]; its host will be without symptoms; it can be dealt with by the body’s immune system….but, you can release the virus by some ‘activators’ [such as stress]. So, lockdowns and curfews, which are stressful, can actually activate a serious infection – which the body had previously been dealing with..

And the virus, if hindered in its agenda of moving into as many hosts as possible, will mutate to a less lethal but more infectious form. So…lockdowns and curfews, once lifted, can result in many more people becoming infected with this more-spreadable mutated form of the virus.

        i don’t get it.

        1. If one looks at the medium used to incubate viri it is warm, moist, and contains organic materials which can act as food.

Sounds like the inside of a (cotton) mask to me. If sterilization practices aren’t properly followed, does anyone know how much one’s odds of contracting a viral infection from a dirty mask would be?

          1. I fully agree with you. And anywhere else in the house – where it can lie dormant.

My point is only – I don’t understand how our Dear Leaders can conclude that isolating people will stop the virus – since the virus has the ability to mutate and will do so, in an isolate population, to a less lethal but more infectious form…and once that population is released from isolation, the virus will explode in numbers. [as we’ve seen].

        2. I acknowledge after having spent over a year dealing with my sister’s estate and as POA for my brother, that the incompetence, ignorance and sheer monumental indifference of our bureaucratic class is mind-boggling.

You don’t have to tell me about it. I’ve been dealing with that for nearly 4 years ever since my father died. The amount of bureaucratic idiocy that I’ve had to deal with in all 3 roles of executor, trustee, and beneficiary is staggering.

And I’m a long way from being done…..

        3. ET…you assume the policy is based on science and good advice. It is not. It is virtue signalling at its finest.
What province wins the competition for having more balls than Trump? That is all.

Remember this guy is on Fords Covid Advisory Committee.
          https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/hamilton/st-joes-niagara-health-ceo-vacation-covid-19-1.5862449

Useless arrogant bureaucrats making 6 figure salaries. They do not care. And they have no science to back them up.

        4. “And the virus, if hindered in its agenda of moving into as many hosts as possible, will mutate to a less lethal but more infectious form. So…lockdowns and curfews, once lifted, can result in many more people becoming infected with this more-spreadable mutated form of the virus.” – ET
          ———————————————————————————————————————-
L-This leads to the fun part:

The previous gov’t. shutdown measures stimulated the natural evolutionary process for the more infectious mutation of the Covid-19 virus. Therefore, they own it !

I’m going to enjoy watching the government’s response to this. 🙂

P.S. (someone needs to tell John Carpay and Roco Galati to add this to their factum.)

Like flattening the curve, they’ve been only able to delay reality accessing the public.
In Saskatchewan, the degradation of the mental health of the citizenry could not be suppressed any longer. So the government has made mental health a ministerial responsibility. Which means the bureaucracy have persuaded the politicians to volunteer to throw themselves under the bus.

The Panic-demic is a joint project by Monte Python’s Flying Circus & Yes, Minister.

    2. The reason for the lockdowns and curfews is to destroy the livelihoods of business owners who cannot shout on command “TEN THOUSAND YEARS TO THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA” in pitch-perfect Mandarin.

A Quebec resident unable to pay his mortgage or property taxes is more easily ordered out of his home at gunpoint, while the Chinese “investor” wanting a pied-à-terre for his little empress while she attends McGill to look for a rich white man to seduce and recruit as a CCP asset looks on, smirking as only a Chinaman can.

It’s about expropriating everything you’ve work for your whole life and handing it over to Bay Street and Beijing for free.

If you can’t see that by now…

      1. You got the general idea S.G. The details can be left to the imagination. Not a pretty picture!

    3. You have to also remember the Ct (cycle threshold) used in the RT-PCR test is too high. A Ct of 45 will detect background noise and can’t differentiate between infectious and non infectious. The test has been configured to falsely give a large number of positive cases. A scam right from the beginning. Even the WHO agrees that a Ct of 45 is high. A Ct of 25 to 30 (multiplications) would have much better accuracy. Yet our testing laboratories continue to use a Ct of 45.

  18. For an idea of how likely Government is able to stop the spread of a virus.
We could admire their success stopping the flow of unlicensed cigarettes or illegal drugs..
Or even their attempts to prevent invasive species..
Now normally when conmen rip us off ,take our money and do nothing,we at least stop buying from them.
So why would you buy anything government sells?
Other than because they threaten violence.

  19. You only need to know the first article of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms:

    1. The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the rights and freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.

So any Act or law passed in the Commons can nullify every other article of the Charter…

I.E. In Canada, you have no guaranteed rights, even the most basic of basics.

    1. None of this stuff is done via an act of Parliament. They figured out that the legislation around public health orders from provincial health officers basically grants absolute power to a political appointee. If they ever stop this crap that position and all its powers needs to be eliminated permanently.

  20. While trapped in a truck with CBC blaring,I discovered that the resisters in Quebec have been issued fines of between $1000 and $6000,if I heard CBC right.
Quite amazing how our parasitic overload can turn what is supposed to be a public health crisis into another way to steal from the citizens.
Not content with destroying our businesses, they now seek to extract any funds we might have left over.

    1. Absolutely DISGUSTING!
I grew up thinking, believing that the cops were on my side. And I think they were. Were!
No more. Not given the most recent information – the videos like this one, the shutting down of the BBQ place in Toronto, the home invasion in Quebec! And this is just a start.
The Flu has everyone on edge. Including the politicians and when was the last time they fixed anything? Think hard.
And these are the guys directing a costumed, over-zealous and armed gang of saps just “doin’ my job ma’m enforcin’ the Law!”.
      We are so screwed!!

  21. Where the heck is everyone going at night that would warrant a curfew? We already cannot go to concerts, bars, restaurants, sporting events, family gatherings, …. the list goes on.

  22. And we foolishly thought that Manitoba had elected a slightly right of center conservative government last time around. Watch for what they do and don’t believe what a politician says. We’re having the same problem here in Saskatchewan.
