A virtue signaling moron named Harald Schmidt, who claims to be an ethics professor, has insisted that older white people should get the Covid 19 vaccine after younger minorities:

“Older populations are whiter, ” Harald Schmidt told the New York Times. “Society is structured in a way that enables them to live longer. Instead of giving additional health benefits to those who already had more of them, we can start to level the playing field a bit.”

The Centers for Disease Control should use its own “social vulnerability index” to decide how to protect older people who are more at risk, Schmidt said. The index uses measures from the Census like poverty, unemployment, disability, housing status and education to determine which communities are most likely to feel the impact of a public health emergency. At least 18 states plan to use the index, he told The Times.

At this time, there is no word whether Herr Schmidt will be giving up his paycheck to help out a more needy minority professor.

  2. I got ‘Woke’ / awakened as a child when my parents made sure I washed my hands frequently so that proper sanitation became instinctive. This is why I lived to become an old man. Now I’m told I have ‘privilege’. Well it is a priviledge and a pleasure not to be a stupid virtue signaling narcissist like Herr Schmidt who can unleash his kacken in a toilet.

    1. It’s also a privilege to not be afraid of catching the COVID … because I have seen NO evidence that it actually “transmits easily”. And it is a privilege to have worked all my life so I can live in a peaceful, bucolic, lilywhite (and Asian) suburb with a tiny number of COVID cases. A very CLEAN community and culture. It’s a privilege to know that the vast majority of COVID spread (and deaths) are hitting minority communities. Your government hints at this … but cannot bring themselves to tell you the WHOLE truth. The government won’t give you the WHOLE data. Nope. Because that might reflect poorly on brown communities. But the reality is that huge brown families, who live packed like sardines in small houses and apartments who are unhealthy, fat, with multiple diseases are the ones dying. But your government won’t tell you that.

      So … as for me? Go ahead … put all those brown poster children for COVID transmission and death ahead of me in line. I will be fine. I’ve BEEN fine. Best to keep them from spreading it further and increasing MY risk mathematically. Put the brown disease carriers ahead of me (despite my age) … it makes epidemiological sense.

      I don’t see this as a “racial” issue … but as a cultural one. My culture is safe and secure enough to dine out at $600/plate Laundered French Restaurants … safely. Social gatherings with “my people” is safe. So let the brown people get inoculated… so they don’t infect us privileged white folks.

    1. Don’t know exactly what triage principles are but I suspect they coincide with the common-sense answer to who should get vaccinated first – the person most likely to die if they contract covid.
      Any other order would seem to be elevating something else over and above saving lives.

  7. This is off topic, I know, it’s another example of the down side of the Wokerati POV. Netflix has a documentary style program on the 70’s Yorkshire serial killer, “Ripper”. Whether it was intentional, or not, it was Woke. I’m sure you won’t be surprised to learn that the police were trashed as misogynistic and, consequentially, incompetent. The investigators were accused of unjustifiably reaching the conclusion that most of the victims were prostitutes, and the police were decried for urging women not to go about alone, late at night. Much as I despise second guessing with hind sight, here goes.
    I agree that not all of the victims were “Good Time Girls” or led marginal life styles. This inadvertently was a public disservice giving many other women a false sense of security. It put blinders on the investigation, led them to overlook additional attacks, and may have also contributed to the police being easily duped by the hoaxer, when he told them what they wanted to hear. I think this is a fair criticism though I doubt it comes from misogyny.
    The part that is disturbing is the idea that if you urge women to take precautions you are misogynistic. This is an even greater disservice by the Wokerati, claiming misogyny for the predator-prey dynamic. Has no one watched Nature programs, are all feminists oblivious to “Tooth and Talon”. Of course, predators are going to seek out the vulnerable and the solitary. It’s who they are; it’s what they do.

Applicant: “Yes, I have a degree in Post Modern Nihilism” Employer: “Fine, we have a position for you in our Diversity Office in the HR department. We need someone to roll out our new age wages program where whites are at the bottom of the pay scale, including you”.

  17. Professor Schmidt is an assistant professor, which means he is untenured. In theory, with his next promotion hearing, should he fail it, he then is asked to leave after one more year. But then again, his overt racism and evil proposal as to discrimination in health care might earn him extra brownie points at university. Sign of the times.
