  1. The peasants will just have to be content planting trees for Adolf this summer. Blacklock reports this morning that 50 cents will be added per litre to the price of gasoline.

    1. But it too is illegal to cut one down for heat.
So freeze you damn Seniors, freeze.
      (Private thoughts by PM Trudeau).

He certainly is being a fantastic representative of the globalists.

    2. Who do we have to kill to stop the insanity. Oh know I should not say that but, hey, they are so stupid it is a wonder they can breathe.

    3. John, ayear or so ago I was researching the Environment Canada web page for estimates of GHG emissions, by province — and estimates of oxygen emissions of trees, again by province. I did this, to advocate for New Brunswick getting extra dispensation for having the highest percentage of trees (and scrub, weeds, moose dung, etc.) per square mile, of any province.

Piling through the humongous bureaucratic verbiage, it turns out that the Paris accords, which address the issue, specially refuse to take oxygen-breathing trees into account, for anything. Why this is so is anybody guess. So Trudeau’s fantasy policy of planting two billion trees (none which have yet to be planted) means diddly squat to effete bureaucrats in Europe. Only gross GHG emissions count.

  2. If it affects low- income earners, middle class earners, seniors and single moms doesn’t that affect almost everyone other than a minority who can afford it? So this is something new? It probably took an advanced degree in crystal ball and navel gazing to figure that out.

    1. “It is possible that there could be other socio-economic groups that may have disproportionately lower income, may be at an increased vulnerability to energy poverty, or may be adversely affected by the proposed Regulations.”

Here let me fix that for you … Global Warming Taxes are RACIST!!

If black and brown people already make up a disproportionate number of the “underserved” communities … then they will be the most SEVERELY impacted by these $ wealthy leftist virtue taxes.

  3. One thing to remember that the idiot in charge is a puppet with dramatic delivery.
Note how dramatic he likes to sound especially when he talks about the things that the puppet masters think needs slow and deep delivery.
Other than that, the guy has no clue, in fact.
For an idiot to make good living for the single happenstance of having a name is pretty much conductive to Canadian voters.

Why do you thing the former minister of finance quit?
As corrupt as he was, he could not bring himself to follow the diktat of certain Butts.
Yeah, that guy is the leader of the tight cabal of rich socialist/fascists that runs the show.
You got to give it to him though, he excels in corruption.
And show it is, completely out of touch with reality.

    1. Speak for yourself. I’m from the west and we didn’t vote overwhelmingly for the french adolph. In fact in the last election we didn’t give his one seat which is probably the reason most of his dictates are designed to hurt us the most.

      1. How does a country vote twice for an idiotic blackface-wearing groper with no skills, an undying love for China and with no fear of ever being ousted?

Listen to the average Canadian thank his lucky stars that a snowboard instructor has screwed up this country and not Trump, Harper, the Russians or some other bogey-man.

    2. Out West, our vote does not count. One only needs Southern Ontario and Quebec to form the federal government. Telling these two regions that you will screw over the West gets your party in power.
The bureaucrats love the Liberals because they will always do their dirty work with very few exceptions.

      1. No.
        The Liberals love conservatives.
        Particularly western ones.
        Why wouldn’t they?”
Biggest pussies and pushovers in history.
Most of you probably got palpitations watching Americans actually do something beside whine.
        You are cowards.
        You are defeated.
        You are owned.
        You are serfs.
        Own it.

  4. The only way this stops is when the creditors tell the sock monkey and his red dwarf they won’t be able to lend them anymore money.
    Then it ends.

    1. He’s got that covered with another green loon (greener than Carney) installed at the BOC. Monetizing the debt will affect that same demographic as the carbon tax but when green zealotry is the state religion, poverty is the means that justify the ends. Too bad the Cons only have “me too, but not as fast” as their answer. Butt’s Lib, NDP, Green, Media (complex) party is currently unstoppable.

  5. I’ll file that one in my “Well Duh” folder.
There was a time I believed there would be a tipping point for most folks to begin realizing that inducing economic stress on people with increased fuel prices is all part of their plan. Not yet I guess. I wonder what it’ll take? A nationwide trucker strike perhaps to make things scarce for a while might be a good start. Nothing like empty store shelves to get hungry and pissed off people on the streets.
And seeing how most people are a little slow on the uptake here’s a little something – the Conservative Party of Canada doesn’t give a shit about you either.

    1. The Conservatives have no imagination. They figure that they can win elections by copying what Dinglefritz is and does.

It’s now at a point that I can’t tell the difference between the two parties. Neither one gives a rat’s patootie about western Canada, though individual Conservative MPs do.

    2. Fake conservative party of Canada. “Canada’s cuckservatives” are ready to work with Team Biden/Harris.

—–> Real conservatives in Canada always vote #PPC

  6. Trudeau will halve it to .$25/liter like he always intended and dumbass Canadians will take to the streets to demand his face be put on our currency.
    That’s how cynical I’ve become.

    1. Pierre was celebrated for taxing fuel more than Joe Cuck. The fuel tax brought down clueless Joe Cuck and when Pierre won, CBC and CTV cheered the new higher tax.

Clark $0.25 Imperial Gallon. Pierre $0.35.
No, the brain dead will demand the spawn go on currency for whatever he does.

  7. It is so important for Canadians to feel morally superior that they’ll support this. And O’Toole knows it and so he cannot do or say a thing. Trudeau isn’t the disease, he’s a symptom.

  8. Buried in a fawning article. brought to my attention over the weekend by Michael Campbell.

Thank God they had some sauvignon blanc on hand as a crisp antidote to the daunting task of shutting Canada down.

“Can you please one half of Canada without alienating the other, I ask. (Chrystia) Freeland answers guardedly. “Yes, we do have to take action on climate change,” she says. “At the same time we also need a strong economy and we understand the reality that fossil fuels are part of the Canadian economy and the world economy.” But how can the world slow climate change if Canada keeps exporting so much carbon, I interrupt. “What I would say is my dad could not live or get around without a pick-up truck, and his combines need to run on fossil fuel,” she says. “We’re the 10th-largest economy in the world and predicted to become the eighth largest partly because of immigration. But we’re realistic. Even if all Canadians ceased emitting carbon we wouldn’t move the dial. A big part of our task needs to be leading the multilateral challenge.”

    https://www.ft.com/content/f4f88f32-3b83-11ea-a01a-bae547046735

If taxing leadership moved somebody’s dial, it would be the working poor who have to drive so sorry, no Friday family pizza night.
C’mon, we all have to make sacrifices for the greater good. They could run out of sauvignon blanc. Look at China and India.
If not for our leadership their emissions would be skyrocketing! They’re quite concerned with Canada’s per-capita emissions.
They’re tying food to our ass and making us walk backwards. What will they do to us when they run out of our money?

    1. “Even if all Canadians ceased emitting carbon we wouldn’t move the dial. A big part of our task needs to be leading the multilateral challenge.”

Straight from the horse’s mouth. What Canada does will have no effect. But symbolism! Canadians are leading! … right into the abyss.

  9. We haven’t begun to see the results of the Chinese bio-attack. When Western food surpluses start disappearing the results will be catastrophic for the third world. Then “Camp of the Saints” gets real.

    1. “Camp of the Saints” – Interesting. Might make for some good lock down reading.
On the other hand – maybe it won’t.

      1. I highly recommend it. The only problem with the book is Raspail dramatically underestimated how many would be coming to the West/France. Still an apocalyptic tract.

        1. I read it a while ago and I found it to be ponderous and pedestrian in its presentation.

          1. Bop:

Unfortunately, you’re right. When I see what’s happened in the last few years, I’m surprised that the author, who wrote it around 50 years ago, was so accurate in his portrayal.

    2. All that food will be exported to China in partial payment of the Libranos’ debts.

Our Chinese overseers will get to stuff themselves with the best pork and beef on earth. Flash a CCP membership card and you’ll be welcome to fill your absurdly large car with free gasoline.

Meanwhile the blue-eyed devils will have to catch and cook bats to get any protein and gather wood to keep warm in winter.

      1. It’ll be like what happened in Romania. The country was in hock over its ears, so the people had to contend with periodic blackouts as that debt had to be paid. It didn’t help that Nick and Ellie decided they needed to live in the fanciest barn in the world and were having their new digs built when the ungrateful masses rose up against them.

  10. Canadians were duped by two centrist political parties for too long now. The degenerate LPC & the fake conservative CPC shared the workload of “ruling” us with extremely incompetent ways, multiple crimes, bribes, honey pots, conflicts of interest, disastrous deficits/debts, mismanage everything, kick backs and looking after friends and family on OUR backs.

So why don’t we vote Blackie out and see what happens under another CPC #LibCons globalist w/o experience?

I am sure Erin & his “Canada’s cuckservatives” would reverse that, right…

    1. So why don’t we vote Blackie out and see what happens under another CPC #LibCons globalist w/o experience?

We tried that more than 40 years ago. Much of the country finally had their fill of PET and narrowly voted in Joe Who. It didn’t even last 2 years, when it was back to business as usual.

It took us until 1984 to get the Liberals out of office. Unfortunately, Mulruin was hardly an improvement.

      1. I had my sarcasm at “ON” when I posted “So why don’t we vote Blackie out and see what happens under another CPC #LibCons globalist w/o experience?”

Know why? Because Canadians have 0 values or principles. Too many told me “vote for the least worse party”…

        Well deserved.

        1. Yes, or rather vote against the greatest threat, you didn’t, and the greatest threat won.

      2. Mulruin, I like that. He was another Quebecker, which was the big problem. I liked Harper mostly because he wasn’t from Quebec. But he was constantly pandering to them, and for what? I could support the Cons if they called out the climate scam, but it looks like they won’t. So there is no party I can support. Nada.

      3. To be fair, Mulroney was saddled with the monstrous debt PET rang up, and just as interest rates were going sky-high. His government was fairly thrifty but the interest payments from said debt did them in.

    2. Oh so you’re a Maxipad and a mooselimb? No wonder you supported Black Prince, you just like him wanted to destory civilization.

    3. Centrist?
      How so?
From the distance it looks like socialist extremists, socialists and socialists in training.
There is no center in this country.

  11. By design.
Make you poor so you depend on the State.

It’s time to get serious about the real cause of this: Stupid voters.
Start demanding answers from the idiots who voted for this.

    1. Everyone knows what the answer will be: “We need to do something!”

The same for lockdowns: “We need to do something!”

Canada is a country of Karens

      1. I’ve seen the same thing with safety rules put in place at work to show the appearance of doing something.
Once you put one in place you must tread very carefully before removing it.
It can be the most useless thing ever but if somebody gets hurt after YOU remove the rule your ass is done.

Same thing with masks, if the mask mandate is removed the idiots will be howling about how whomever removed the mandate is a murderer.
And a mask is a very visible sigh of ‘doing something’.

  12. You can’t pay liberals to think.
    I’ve tried.

Tell a liberal that you will pay them $500.00 if they can explain to you how this carbon tax will reduce overall CO2 and real pollution.
I’ve tried this many times and never had to pay out a dime.
Ask them how bankrupting our clean industries here where 20% of our electricity is produced by coal and moving production to China where 65% of their electricity is produced by coal will reduce CO2 and real pollution overall.

Ask this liberal how shipping raw materials to coal powered factories in China and shipping the finished products back here will reduce CO2 and real pollution.
Do those huge ocean freighters run on goat farts?
Remember how we are supposed to be Locovores and eat food grown locally?
But we should buy our steel products from China.

You cannot pay a liberal to think.
    I’ve tried.
They cannot comprehend cause and effect.

    1. Stan, that applies to just about 90% of all Canadians. We the sane, don’t stand an f ing chance in the coming gulag of the north. Just remember, your neighbour (canadian spelling) probably voted for this while sitting at your table and drinking your beer.

    1. On the bright side, according to the peavymart website they still have torches in stock.

Shurely, the apparent shortage of pitchforks is merely a coincidence…

  13. As noted,in a country of vast distances and extreme cold,a tax on energy is a tax on everything.
Such a simple observation yet unable to penetrate the fools and bandits’s mindset.
The tale of the Golden Goose is incomprehensible to those sharing the Emperors New Clothes.

So when are we,the mindless host, going to find a good scratching post to remove these parasites from our backs?
At what point do people stop working?
For it is damn near pointless.
Ask the young tradesmen just starting out in self employment.
Every useless “regulator” inspector from a thousand agencies demanding money and of course Bill C45 which makes being an employer a criminal offence.
None can answer this simple question;”What rate do I need to charge,to cover the risk of a criminal record, should I hire a useless and clueless who manages to kill themselves on my time?”
And remember you cannot fire them
For you cannot buy insurance against criminal behaviour on your own part and C45 defines “Employee” so loosely that you be guilty if the “Powers” want you to be.
And just “proving yourself not guilty” will cost you more than you can earn.
So why work,if you are not able to keep the return on your labour?

This is why socialism in all its destructive forms fails.
For it defies human nature to believe that you can inspire people to work harder for less reward.
And even more antagonistic to our nature is the concept of working ,so that other people, who openly abuse and mock you, reap the rewards from your labour.
    As you get ever poorer.

As the Russians used to say;”Dah,they pretend to pay us,we pretend to work”.

  14. Why is Holly Doan breaking this story? Where are the Torys? Any comment from any CPC MP on this yet or are they all on Christmas vacation?
There is a massive opportunity for the Torys to galvanize the support of working-class Canadians and they aren’t even trying.

  15. There is so much material for the Tories to use. From epic corruption to epic incompetence. Or to simply ask the question; “What the f@#K are Chinese soldiers doing training in Canada?”
Will the Tories use it? Will they use every means of communication possible to get their point across? Will they start to do it now? The Tories need to purge their campaign “brain-trust” and put in some people that are actually willing to fight? To actually do what the Tories say they want to do; save Canada?
I think we all know the answer to that.
The only solution is for a new Dominion. Alberta and Saskatchewan must leave this disaster. Believe it or not, that may be the only way of saving the last vestiges of a free country above the 49th parallel.

    1. Oh tool is about as capable as Scheer. Seriously so much material and the idiot just stays quiet like a little toad. I’m not renewing my membership until that idiot is gone. No donations and no time wasted. Stop rigging the damn thing you asshats.

  16. The posted report is a real eye-glazerfor anyone, including an economist, to get through without reaching for water and some Tylenol. Congratulations to Mr. Goldstein for digging up the study (came out today), and for slogging through it.

I agree with the posters here that the idea, that carbon tax hurts poor people more, is common sense. Energy prodics (like heating fuel and gasoline) are necessities.

  17. Ya gotta remember guys, the conservatives are “her Majesties “Loyal” opposition”.

They are loyal to the system not us, that is why they aren’t making much noise beyond whining and whispers. They are all on the grave train, and we are not, and never will be. In simple terms, why rock the boat, er, sorry train, when you are in the first class staterooms, being pampered. We don’t even get to ride in the caboose or steerage. The carbon tax helps sort the wheat (them) from the chaff (us) So shut up, walk, ride a bike or take the bus. It also helps to keep you local and not using precious resources that they plan to reserve for themselves, the elite.

  18. Kenney is up for election in 2021 – right? Lets see what bovine excrement he comes out with to save his atse. He was so strong campaigning and we believed him in droves s and once in – just like old PEE -AIR said ” tell them what they want to hear and when you are elected – do what you want”. Kenney has been a huge disappointment. The alternative to vote for is????

  19. All I needed to read is in the Cost-benefit Statement…. “the modelling conducted for this analysis estimates” followed by “recently published estimates of the SCC (societal cost of carbon) value found in the academic literature.” Total BS followed by even greater TOTAL BS!

    1. Few more months of lockdowns and there will be no middle class left.

That was part of the objective all along.

      1. Oh absolutely. Welcome to Scandimania, where, apart for the omnipotent elites, everyone is kept is equal comfortable subsistence and there is no uppity middle class with illusions of independence.

… and the distance from Scandimania to Venezuela isn’t that long either.

  20. No need to fret. See the COLA clause of your Collective agreement:
“On May 1 in each year of this Agreement, the Employer shall raise the salary for bargaining-unit members by the equivalent of the rate of inflation from April 1 of the previous year to March 31 of the current year, based on the Consumer Price Index for that period. The Cost of Living Adjustment shall be capped at 3%”. The pension benefits are also indexed.

Not an apparatchik? Sucks to be you!
