Fighting for the Souls of Seattle and San Francisco

KOMO, the ABC affiliate in Seattle, is very brave for creating this documentary. This is an accurate view of a once beautiful city that has let itself be taken over by Woke Progressives who are convinced they know better. In fact, these “leaders” know nothing and there’s endless evidence of their outright incompetence and malfeasance. And yet, even with this insanity all around them, in the next election and the one after that, and the one after that, guess who the voters in Seattle will voter for? Citizens get the government they vote for … good and hard.

Meet the City Council and Mayor of Seattle.

17.5 minutes in, the same misery can be seen in San Francisco.

    1. Or if I can add Warren, this is what inevitably happens when you ONLY have left wing candidates to choose from. Center left to far left to bat shit crazy left. Sounds like Canada actually.

      1. Spot on Boots….
        Hedy Fry.?
        Feeeland
        Trudeau
        Ex climate Barbie
        8 Islamics in Cabinet
        The entire MSM

        Guillotine fodder the lot.

      2. Exactly. The only reason Vancouver or anywhere else in Canada isn’t just as bad or even worse is because the weather and the economy is so much crappier here.

    2. How do we know the people elected these putzes? What if they are in power because these putzes corrupted the electoral system and it doesn’t matter what you vote for, the outcome is predetermined by corruption?

take a look at mississauga, ontario…

Even though his uncle was holding a knife, Hashim said the police’s
decision to shoot him does not make sense.

Sorry, bruh… ‘refusing to put down a weapon’… knife, gun, hammer…
is literally the gold standard definition of when cops can light some
      crazy fucker up.

  1. Considering the massive election fraud at a national level we’ve just witnessed I think it’s safe to say that the left has retained their hold on America’s decaying cities (despite being the obvious source of the decay) through massive amounts of fraud, leaving the sane to vote with their feet instead.

  2. I haven’t listened to this yet but I feel the once great city of Calgary Alberta has fallen into a similar abyss. It is a shadow of it’s former self.

Once proudly known as ‘Cowtown’ it embraced conservative values. It was a fun place that entrepreneurs gravitated too. Fresh with enthusiasm and grit they made things happen. There wasn’t anything they couldn’t do.

Over the years Calgary began to change. By degree, stealth, almost unnoticeable but change it was. The new population imported the idea that Cowtown needed a sophistication that only liberal ideology could deliver. The cowboy/oilman image and philosophy was not for them. They began to install their politicians and ideas. Once they reached critical mass elimination of the ‘old ways’ was complete. The evidence/ decay is now everywhere. Sad.

    1. I was born and grew up in Calgary, as did my mom b. 1913 (dad was born in Ft. Macleod 1903 and my grandparents were “official” Alberta pioneers living there before 1885). One of my other grandpas arrived circa 1909 and built some nice places, now “heritage-designated” by the City.

I often read about what is happening there, as my siblings live there, and I am a BSc, MSc grad of U of Calgary.
… and you are absolutely correct. This is clearly not the city that it once was. It is a train wreck, orchestrated by Mayor Nenshi and friends, and probably others before him, as you said, via stealth change.

I admit that we Calgary girls in 1969-70 did not dress well, though. Personally, I did not like the cowgirl look of parka plus running shoes and socks – very uncool, then and now, however I figured it out then and later better when we lived in New York in the early 1970s. Cool clothes were there.

That said, I still love Calgary (in the summer, too chilly otherwise).

  3. Report from Seattle North
Vancouver BC councilors and the mayors, current and past, are just like those in Seattle and San Fran. All their CVs as candidates in the last election had on them were greeny activist/NGO credentials. Only one had business creds. All had green goals, thus no one for me to vote for.

Council just voted for hard drugs to be legal in personal amounts (probably illegal due to fed or provincial laws). That will work well, especially since they cut the police budget1%.
    https://www.straight.com/news/vancouver-council-approves-mayor-kennedy-stewarts-motion-seeking-to-decriminalize-drug

5% property tax increase (my income did not increase that much), but fewer services (oh yeah, the road repair folks are working from home on full salary, playing e-mail). Police budget cut by 1%. Why not copy every failed coastal American plans?

We have/had a nice park not far away where I used to drive my Cavalier dog to run off-leach in 2019 (I need a hip), have a picnic and watch kids playing baseball. This covid year, so it was turned into a cess pool tent city, far away from where they live, fully enabled and supported by the overpaid Vancouver Park Board (all activists too) and the City:

    https://thetyee.ca/News/2020/10/28/Strathcona-Park-Tent-City-Place-of-Refuge/
The neighbours had terrible problems and the City did nothing.

It is finally raining here, so a few of 359 tenters might move.

    1. Yes L, but Wangcouver, as you know, has been run by leftist Eco-wingnuts for decades, you are most familiar with Comrade Gregor Moonbeam, a fraud of epic proportions, and his Commie follow up, Kennedy Stewart, as much a lefty dingbat as can be. I always wonder “HOW?”, why Vancouverites would be elect complete morons, but then, most of Van went commie in the recent BC election too, and, it’s a west coast thing, Lisa Helps and her cadre of Commies are doing their best to wreck the once proud city of Victoria, which has become in its core, an unsafe area, due to all the druggies, thieves and homeless drecks. But, then our betters keep telling us, that the street urchins are “just like you and me”.
The dregs are currently inhabiting Beacon Hill Park, which has always been protected against this, until now, Lisa and her Commies use pretzel logic to defend it.
The problem is, the business owners don’t get a vote but pay the highest taxes. They need to vote with their feet and move, but are too cowardly to do so, or to run for council.

  4. Watching this 60% of the people disapprove of the way their city is being run. 40% strongly disapprove. Obviously these people are not voting for this. The elections are corrupt. The result is predetermined. I suspect a lot of it is drug money corrupting city hall combined with intimidation of politicians. And given what just happened in the American election this is the future that the USA faces for the entire country under Biden.

  5. I have watched 15 min. so far (will be watching the rest later) and the most striking thing I have found is there are a number of cities in Canada headed in the same direction. We have put in place the leaders ????? who are going to take us to the level of Seattle and Portland very quickly ; I see Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal all declining at a furious rate over the next couple of years. BTW Toronto has a very good start with Tory and CO. Ottawa started to slide back in the early 80’s and as some one said if we keep electing these liberals it will only get much worse much faster. Just my 2 cents worth…..Steve O

  6. Good point by Boots, only left liberals are running because anyone with any integrity get’s driven off.
I propose two things (although a pipe dream cause the tards would never let it happen)
    – one 4 to 6 year term, for municipal Councillors/Mayors, provincial MLA’s/Premiers and federal MP’s/PM. Pay them very well, federally up to $500K a year, but one term, no pension.
    – the other biggy, de-certify all unions that have public servants as members including teachers.
Maybe the public will have a chance to get their government back.

    1. Excellent. I agree with all of your points. Wish some of this could become possible but I somehow have my doubts. We’d have to have been hit with meteors and all govt people would’ve had to have disappeared first, for any changes to occur.
      TQ

  7. The divide between the woke left and the conservative right is getting wider every day. Reading the comments to articles in the CBC is just stunning how people support this leftist insanity. Lived in Toronto and its suburbs all my life and to see blacks having shootouts in broad daylight on our streets is just incredible but more so as our political leaders wallow in this crap. I totally agree with Thomas Sowell and Jordan Peterson in their view of this is caused by our teachers and the endless dogma they push on their students at all levels.

This will not end well with a federal government dedicated to tearing this wonderful country apart.

    1. Don’t forget the role of the courts and legal system whereby we have the revolving door syndrome. Toronto’s chief of police and Tory (yes, that Tory) complained about this last year when it was revealed how many crimes were committed by people out on bail. The city and province are powerless to deal with this. This, thanks to Trudeau’s Charter and his idiot spawn.

As for the local politicians, I expect it’s the leftists that are more mobilized to run for office (no doubt in part to the generous salary) while the better educated conservative part of the population has better things to do in life and anyway, are insulated from the rot one sees downtown. You don’t see this crap in Rosedale, Forest Hills or Leaside.

I believe this is the same station that produced “Seattle is Dying” last year. Apparently, no one was listening.

      1. Unlike Calgary, which is a large sprawl of a single city, Seattle, VAncouver and Victoria are but one municipality of many but those are the central most important of the cities in each region.
The core cities proportionally have more dwellers in apartments and condos than houses, and, they tend to be renters. Add it up, and you have the very old and the very young as the renters. The old tend more and more to either not give a hoot, or vote for health care, which is left. The young vote in earnest, very left, they’ve been brainwashed with ecoweenie values, or else you will die. And don’t forget, unions are very motivated at the local level, to vote for the CUPE friendly candidates, they do get their vote out.
Local elections tend to have poorer turnouts, so the most organized groups that get their vote out wins. And as we see, the left is VERY organized.

  8. Only PURE Anarchists celebrate a City that refuses to stop anyone from doing anything for any reason at anytime. This is the principle espoused by Noam Chomsky, who believes it is child abuse if you scream at your kid to NOT run onto a busy street. That the child’s autonomy, freedom of expression and liberty (without constraints) are more important than anyone’s rules or regulations.

This tired old hippie concept of societal anarchy has been floating around academia since the 1960’s. But as with all PURE ideologies practiced without exceptions or restraint … it is a massive car crash. No red lights, no traffic warning signs … never stop anyone from doing anything for any reason at anytime. The roots of this notion comes from the concept that every person is born perfect. That it is only “society”, parents, rules, laws, and restraints that RUIN people’s lives. If only people were left to be completely FREE … right? Well … people are NOT born perfect. We are born as utterly dependent upon “structure”. Familial structure. A mother’s love and dedication. Food and shelter. And above all … protection. Protection from a world of predators who would swallow us whole without a tribal structure … without societal constructs. Hint: Why do you think every Medieval City was “walled”?

The authors of the US Constitution were brilliant men. Men who understood that mankind is both Free and benevolent as well cruel and opportunistic. That US citizens must be FREE … but they must also be PROTECTED. Protected from predators … and protected from themselves. Honest and Just laws were needed to protect the Freedoms of good people from the bad. Sorry hippies … but both Good … AND Evil … walk the planet.

My HS football coach had a phrase he used whenever we lost a game following a win … “you can’t stand prosperity”. Well … Seattle and San Francisco “can’t stand prosperity”. They HATE the USA of their birth. They HATE Police … and Laws … and especially the US Constitution. So they are dedicated to tearing it all down ma’aaan. They have unilaterally suspended the Constitutional Rights defending people and property. Soon … they will TAKE everyone’s wealth. They’re already coming for it. Your accumulated wealth is your protection, and they want to strip your protection bare. Then … we will allllllll be “equal” with “equitable outcomes” as Kampala Harris says.

The crazed leftists of the 60’s have raised two generations of kids without guardrails. Children who have never been told “NO!”. These kids, and a few crazed ollllld lefties like Nancy Pelosi, are in-charge. They are bent on practicing Noam Chomsky’s anarchy and “equity” … and we are getting a good preview of the society they envision on the streets of Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco … feces, drugs, violence, mental illness, lawlessness, and total chaos. People living in FEAR and retreating to safe spaces … wherever they can find them

  9. The bright side?
If our progressive comrades can form their own enclaves, where rule of law is suspended, why can’t we?
That New Country,is perfectly acceptable by Progressive Standards,or at least in their welter of double standards.
For if “Sanctuary Cities” are acceptable, then a Sanctuary for Rule of Law and civil society shall be as well.
Let the Progressives chose lawlessness and chaos, let us chose what worked to get us here.
And let us create a buffer zone to prevent the corruption oozing out of the Progressive enclaves, from destroying what we value.
For the only thing, that seems to educate liberals,is to live their delusion to the logical conclusion..
But I do not want to “share their pain”,rather I wish to enjoy their misery ,as it is self inflicted, from a safe distance.
With sever consequences,as in lethal should they further attempt to “share their wisdom”.

The old joke,”How do you tell a Liberal” is of course written in the constant theft and destruction they cause on productive members of society.
A New Country, with definite “Liberal Exclusion Zones”,means we will not be available for these fools and bandits to bleed,to steal from to fund their idiotic fantasies.
So they will fail faster and more spectacularly.
As the answer, from that old joke,is You can’t tell a Liberal anything.
Our survival depends on us separating from those who would destroy us,to serve their vanity.

Now we get the rather timely messages, from the Merged Media Lords.

Voting does not work as the results shall be preordained. For us morons are too stupid to recognize our own interests.
The Pandemic is a crisis not to be spurned,an “Opportunity” not to be missed..not a disease to be mitigated.
That the system of trade and valuation we have used to mutual advantage for centuries,is no longer useful and must be ‘reset’ to better serve the parasites,as productive citizens are subhumans, unworthy to manage their own lives.
Our “superiors” will decide who receives what, for they know better than you,in all things of and beyond this world.(Or so they insist).

The classic delusion of “Those who would rule” is that they are necessary.
How is your work, has to one of the most destructive questions ever asked of a career parasite.
For they have no works to see.

  10. An excellent documentary with reporters doing a fine job. Surely Hope Haven would be a reincarnation of mental institutions long overdue.

  11. Bob Daye ……. agreed but the term in office should be 4 yrs PERIOD.
One term and out – forever and definitely ZERO pension.

  12. Haven’t watched it yet but I wonder if KOMO is willing to take any responsibility for the years that they covered up leftist insanity and attacked conservative values.

I grew up in Vancouver (1970s) and attended UW in Seattle (1980s) and it definitely wasn’t anything like this in either place. There’s a reason I didn’t go back to either place when the part of my life that took me away ended.
