Things escalated quickly on CNBC this morning.

Preceeding commentary here.
Flashback to the Santelli “Tea Party” rant that launched a movement that would ultimately lead to a Trump presidency.

Is it just because Rick is Italian that he has these outbursts? He seemed angrier than the exchange justifies. Maybe there was some missing context?
His drawers are too tight and the little boys are in a bunch cutting off circulation to his brain…ops small brain.
I suspect not. There are curmudgeons and those who are increasingly fed up with “experts” who come from all cultures. A certain pig-headedness helps, too, for those of us with some Highlands ancestry.
I fall into that category, C_M. Completely fed up and disgusted with the BS being shoveled to the masses by so-called experts.
Simply ask some rhetorical questions about Sorkin, his ancestry, and his apparent complete lack of lower intestinal fortitude coupled with the sniveling elitist demagoguery of pseudoscience. Perhaps that’s the context you are seeking? Indeed not. STFU
More people got their special invitation walking notices from the Whitehouse in the Pentagon…
Do…do…do….do…
Do…do….do….do…

All you bubble wrap soy boi queens and fairy tale princesses out there please take note of this.
When the pendulum swings back (and it will) the push back will be harder and faster than you expect.
Because I said, “It’s science,” that’s why!
EXACTLY.
Everyone who wears glasses KNOWS how effective masks are!
“Science!” The argument for the intellectually dishonest!
I watch CNBC off an on, switching with BNN-Bloomberg, whichever one is not on an anti-Trump rant. Co-anchor Andrew Sorkin (the guy on the left) is an establishment liberal (he also writes a column for the NYT).
Rick Santelli, the guy on the right, is a free-marketeer, who specializes in commodity, bond and foreign-exchange markets. Early on, he would often say some pro-Trump things, but during the campaign he joined with the other CNBCers to ensure a unified anti-Trump front. He is something of a hothead, who will often tear a strip off of another panelist, on some technical economics issue unrelated to politics.
Co-host Sorkin shares co-hosting responsibilities with Joe Kernan, an older, old-school journalist who is something of middle-of-the-road conservative. During the morning show, the two would share pleasant banter, and when they disagree on business-politics, they always do it in a congenial way. But during the three month election campaign, the senior CNBC suits promoted Sorkin to lead interviewer, and pushed Kernen more into the background, to ensure one-sided bias expected of any NBC news outlet.
What happens to Rick Sartell? Look for CNBC suits to dehire him, over this nasty exchange with their preferred liberal. The establishment media are the Borg, and the Borg swallows all.
I’m betting the Old Guy could beat the shit out of Science Queeny in a heartbeat. Whenever some fucktard says its the science you know they know jack shit and need to be jap slapped.
Well said, very well posted
I think someone went home carrying his naughty bits….
He looks as tired of these smarmy assholes as I am.. talking down to us as though we’re children incapable of reason. It’s only going to get worse when the Dementia Biden takes over.
I’d get mad and want to kick the crap outta that smarmy, over made up news reader telling me, “It’s science.” Princess wouldn’t know science if it bit him on the butt.
Love this!! And thanks for the blast from the past. Good times!!
Could be the turning point, similar to the Tea Party movement.
We need more Santellis and Rubins.
As in the case of covid lockdowns and collectivism generally, the easiest answer is almost always the wrong answer.
Rather than trying to be approximately right, no skin in the game risk to themselves averse politicians are precisely wrong.
This will become evident as one lockdown succeeds another, the latter far more harsh, yet “cases” rise.
We had our chance to acquire herd immunity, over the summer, like every other virus.
Instead we delayed that by quarantining a healthy population, assuring future outbreaks.
Like debt and deficits, we are simply delaying the consequences with lockdowns and masks, which is worse pain in future.
That deaths per case are obviously falling matters not them media ignoramuses lacking aptitude, like math and science.
An analyzer looks for evidence for their theories while the collectivist neo-bigot need not check, and they know in their heart.
Which leads to some pretty awful consequences, given government is amoral with no need to consider morality at all.
There’s not a lot I disagree with Santelli on and quite frankly I think he’s right on this one.
And like one commenter has already said – We’re sick and tired of being treated like children by smug, pasty faced self righteous pricks on all this covid nonsense.
And interesting as well at least from my perspective anyways, how the battle lines are drawn straight down the middle. The Left coming down hard on anti masker/vaxxers and the Right once again standing up for personal freedom.
Why is that? Help me here…are they reading from the same fucking playbook?
I see Michelle Rempel took it on the chin today and yesterday for her eyebrow raising objections to Derek Sloan’s petition to protect those who refuse the vaccination. I mean, Holy Shit Michelle!!! You’re a Conservative aren’t you???!!!??? Of course that had some people bringing up her membership in the World Economic Forum which suddenly gave her the sadz and a case of the Twitter Blocks. Apparently “My body…my choice” is off the table.
Phoney.
Whenever you hear some airhead talk about “science”, it is almost always because they don’t have a freaking clue what the science actually says. They simply use it as a foil to try to protect them from their breathtaking ignorance. By the way, if you are looking for an explanation of how the virus operates, you need look no further than “Farr’s Law”. And when you understand that concept, take a look at the infection and death rate curves of virtually every country on the planet….it quickly becomes evident that the virus is going to do what it’s going to do and nothing governments try will stop it. The ONLY way this pandemic could have been stopped is if countries had slammed the door shut on international travel IMMEDIATELY and entirely. Then you have a chance of seeking out cases and doing contact tracing. Anybody who thinks contact tracing is feasible this late in the game is brain dead.
Art, “it quickly becomes evident that the virus is going to do, what it’s going to do, and nothing governments try will stop it”.
That perfectly encapsulates the reality Sir! The rest of your post is also “on the money”.
The assjack on the left has a face that one would never tire of kicking.
Gold. Pure gold.
Another one, obese Michael Moore, says a lot of MAGA fans are going to die.

Follow the science–HA!!!

That news reader has the SMUG down. What a cocky puke.
I’m pretty big on science myself. If Science Boi there on the left thinks that the little 2 layer paper mask is protecting anyone, he’s dreaming. Just put your glasses on and watch them fog up with every single breath, that’s how much the tiny mask is filtering your exhalations. Not very much.
Is it better than -nothing-? Maybe. I’d say 10% better than nothing, at most. Those are the sciency numbers I found when I looked it all up in February. (Which is when we -should- have had mask orders, shutdowns and etc. Closing the airports in December would have helped too.) I don’t wear the friggin’ 2 layer dentist’s special. I wear the big rubber N-95 respirator. Makes other people nervous when they see it, and realize that I’m the only guy in the place with a mask that actually works. They don’t realize I wear it because it doesn’t fog my glasses.
Mask orders and shutdowns now? Completely pointless. That’s the real science. It doesn’t matter what public health measures are taken now. It’s too late. Time to concentrate our efforts on protecting the weak and vulnerable. Which nobody is doing.
Unfortunately, Santelli isn’t credible either. Is a Costco different than a McDonalds? Yes. Objectively, infection risk from an airborne disease is higher in a place where you’re EATING. Putting stuff in your mouth. In a store you just walk around and put stuff in a cart.
Sadly Santelli doesn’t understand the actual math involved, which he bloody well should, being a finance guy. If he did, he’d be asking Science Boi what the reduction in cases is expected to be from shutting all the restaurants but leaving the Food Court at Costco open. Is the food court safer than McDonalds? No. Because putting stuff in your mouth is the same in both places.
All of the above is why I don’t watch CNBC. Or television generally. You see how -wrong- both Santelli and Science Boi are? They’re just as wrong about all the business and stock market news they say the rest of the time. Chilling, isn’t it?
The minute someone says ‘trust me” or ” I am an expert in…….” its time to change the channel and/or quit listening! If they are so wonderful – prove it without telling me you are so great!
The Presidential wisdom of Biden is the old canard that Joe’s Science is all Mask.. Yes! that was what everyone was waiting for… Joe leading from yesterdays nonsense, when you have no idea WEAR a Mask,,,,Joe can’t find his own butt-hole using both hands….He trained under Tony the Fauci… AKA the clown with numbered accounts
