Not Walk, Run

“I hope we can create some kind of trend, that actually people are going to run to the parks and start complaining to the trees. This is one way of healing at this moment of our history.”

Acclaimed performance artist shares her deep, deep wisdom.

  1. My God! Stark raving mad tree huggers!
They must Trudeau’s advisors on government policies.
Certainly heavy in the mind altering drugs…

  2. It brings this classic doozy to mind:

I’m so old when I remember when nutters like this were kept locked up in soft rooms and wore jackets that sleeves that were too long.

So, did I violate the rights and feelings of two dying trees on my lot in B. C. when I had them cut down? (“How did you know they were dying? Did you ask them and get in touch with their feelings?”)

  3. So I should go into the House of Commons and rant at all the dead wood I see before me (and I am not talking about the benches)?

  4. Sure and when you’re done, hmmm?
You just end up with the endless denial, injustice and fairness about all things forest succession.
    “Silence is violence”

Black walnuts are alleopathic for a reason.

  5. I had a hippie social psychology professor, back in the 1960s. He claimed that scientists conducted experiments — wiring up plants — that showed that kissing and talking to plants made them “happier plants”.

So on that point I sometimes talk to our trees, in our back yard and at our riverside cabin. But theconversations tend to be one sided. I say “Hello tree!”, but nothing happens.

    1. I talk to the trees
But they don’t listen to me
      I talk to the stars
      But they never hear me
      The breeze hasn’t time
To stop and hear what I say
I talk to them all in vain

      1. I talk to the trees, so they put me in a padded cell. But seriously talking to the trees would be as effective as talking to most politicians.

  6. It’s Abramovic, she of “Spirit Cooking” fame and where nothing is too insane or absurd.
I pray a neighbourhood rascal gets some poison ivy vines and rubs it on the bark then sit back and watch her face turn into a Baboon’s ass.
The only performance art worth watching in my opinion.

  7. Every spring I make the maple trees bleed and boil their blood over a fire made from the fallen limbs of their community members. Trees certainly do have energy, it can be measured in British thermal units.

  8. L- Nature worship is the historical psychological default belief system. Humans evolved living in direct, constant contact with and in the wilderness. For those who have spent time in the wilderness and rural areas, hunting, fishing, gathering nuts and berries, or simply going for a walk. There is a calming effect reflective of being evolved in nature. One not found in a forest of concrete and steel.

Though if the concrete and steel and wood is arranged beautifully. Aesthetics do improve the human mood or spirit, to the degree they reflect naturally pleasing patterns. This is also why pre-modern architecture is seen as so precious, as to be preserved and often designated as historic. Those areas are visited like a religious shrine, which some are e.i. the historic churches of Europe, the United Kingdom et al. They inspire awe as they reach to the heavens. The Hagia Sophia was reputed to do so for the even pagans who looked up at it’s ceiling.

Pattern awareness is part of human brain thought function. Unrefined, spirit world cults were the first religions. Hence, the still existent term Mother Nature. The Spanish explorers, 15 centuries after the conversion to Jude-Christian beliefs were shocked to discover natives practicing that e.i. Apocaclypto(film), the Wall of Skulls reported by the Conquistadors and recently discovered during excavations in Cuidad Mexico. Witchcraft, as a minor cult, re-emerged in the 1960s-70s.

Paganism in the past led to human sacrifice to appease those gods.

How popular is Nature Worship today, you ask ?

It’s the basis of the “Climate Crisis” cult, which Western politicians bow in reverence to. They must, in order to avoid being labelled blasphemers(global warming deniers, by it’s worshiping zealots… believers. Human wealth is sacrificed to appease those the nature goddess. The high priests and priestesses do pretty well, though.

The political movement to reduce human wealth and well being, modern life, by banning oil, gas and mining has it’s foundation in a regression to nature worship. It’s even led Canadians to elect a Druid like figurehead as Prime Minister.

Western Civilization adoption of the Judeo-Christian narrative allowed the development of knowledge(truth) in the service of (good) the reduction of unnecessary human suffering ! Which it has achieved to a degree unimaginable to our ancestors. Our cup runneth over.

The re-emergent Nature Worship cult mimicks the old one in sacrifice, the former by throwing the female virgin(the potential for future humanity) into the volcano. This to appease the spirit of the volcano. They mimic it today by their claims that humans are the threat to the (mother) earth and she would be better without them. It’s zealot adherents vow not to have children to save the planet. Eventually, to reduce the human footprint to archeological only.

In it’s milder version, women having babies, at even a population replacement rate in Canada, last occurred in 1971. The imperial powers in the Middle-Kingdom and in the Middle-East see their opportunity as the West slowly does itself in, as we are seen to have lost confidence in our own Civilization.

If this was a little long, well it is Sunday morning…

  9. This is the same mentally unbalanced BS that created the Wild Fire situation on the LEFT COAST….what ever happened to ESSENDALE in Coquitlam anyway..??

We need at least a cpl Dozen more institutions like that….maybe once WE get KONTROL we could use the hopefully abandoned & untorched COVID Isolation Centres…?

Abramovic…? BAT SHIT crazy…akin to howling at the moon.

    1. About 30 years ago I was at a Commission on Resources and Environment (CORE – an NDP inspired land use “negotiation” for Vancouver Island) meeting representing one of the forest companies trying to hold on to land for forestry use. I was listening to a nutter who was inspired by Agenda 21 and wanted to depopulate all of rural human existence and wanted temporary “work camps” established where communities existed while the “workers” restored all of the wilderness after which time, they would all move to cities….. At that point I lost my cool and said to my colleagues (industrial foresters) loud enough so that the 50 or so greens in the room could hear me, that “there had been a major breakout at Essendale and they all ended up in this room”. I was asked to leave the room for a while by my colleagues while I calmed down. Now the same green nihilistic nutters around that table have attained institutionally leftist cultural dominance.

  10. There is no doubt that this artiste is going to be a guru for next generation of freaks, if not for the “journalistes”

  11. Right. We start doing this and some even wiser and more enlightened artist will accuse us of tree rape. I’m going to stay where I am and not bother the trees with my petty problems, thanks.

  12. This is not about environmentalism or art or even pagan earth worship. It’s a feeble attempt at diverting attention and ultimately our wrath against our “ruling elite” who have pulled off the greatest scam in human history. They are in constant fear we will revolt and pull them all from their mansions and hang them from them nearest lamppost.

  13. I guess she figures that a certain Monty Python sketch should be banned, except for, maybe, the part about the main character’s “inclinations”…..
