      So I hope you’ll forgive my suspicion that the “deadliness” of this virus doesn’t match its billing, and the effectiveness of the mandatory mask law isn’t all its cracked up to be.

      Frankly, the best way to make sure that the largest possible number of people resist wearing a mask is to make it mandatory. Just remember, they don’t care if you die. they only care if you do what you’re told.

      If they cared about you dying they’d have stopped the direct flights from China in December.

  5. I hope I don’t get the Chicom virus and conduct myself accordingly. My socialist neighbours mocked my caution and have suffered varying levels of symptoms (the few that went for testing were positive). How we live (and risk death) is their choice and my choice. The curve has been flattened and people know what to do. If it were about stopping the virus, the government would have restricted air travel and set up appropriate screening in February. My experience at the time was that passengers from international flights were backed up and comingled even more than usual by CBSA on arrival in Canada.
    This is not about health, it’s about power.

  7. Let’s all remember that once a virus/bacterium gets into the general population, it cannot be removed and it is impossible to stop its eventual spread. A man in Los Angeles (I might have the details a little off) was diagnosed and recovered from the Black Death, bubonic plague just a week or two ago, while a teenager in Mongolia died from the same ailment about a month ago. There are still cases of pneumonic plague surfacing every year. We cannot allow our society to dissolve because of a crisis and COVID 19 as not in the same league as either of the plagues at their peaks. Enough is enough.

    1. Correct Doug. We have been wrong with what has been done from the very start. Even denying a drug that has been proven to be effective at the onset of the flu virus. The HCQ cocktail has benefited tens of thousands and there are thousands of doctors who say so having used it effectively. Yet the communists running our medical system say we cannot have it. That to me is a serious criminal action.

  15. When did a simple precaution that costs little, takes little effort, and is shown to work, like wearing a mask, become a conspiracy to shame people?

    Why do cops wear bullet proof vests when they could still get shot in the head? Because it provides some protection and reduces the number of dead cops. All masks would do is speed the day that some kind of normalcy returns, your pre-COVID normal life ended the day the virus they cooked up escaped from a ChiCom lab.

    Weirdly enough, studies of where mask mandates were put in place show a reduction in spread of the disease, and laboratory tests with surgical masks and viruses show that while the masks don’t stop most viruses, for some reason they do coronavirus. Maybe having something to do with static electricity, IDK. That’s called a lucky break and we should take it.

    You guys rant that we should “protect the vulnerable” and the rest of us should get on with our lives, but “the vulnerable” have to go into grocery stores. Obviously there are morons among the Democrats especially, who want to take it too far. There is little risk of transmission outdoors except in crowds. The only known case I have read of of outdoor transmission were running partners. Any mandate should be done with a light touch, obviously.

Nowhere in your rant did you mention the type of mask, specifications, manufacturer, weave matrix, and so on, which as anyone who’s worked in medical labs and the chemical industry knows, all these things are spelled out in detail for you when employed in these fields, which I was. Oh and btw…If this is such a deadly virus, where’s the Biohazard bins where one can dispose of the “mask” after use? What, are you supposed to keep using? Kinda defeats the purpose doesn’t it?
      Toronto bylaw specifically states “mask or face covering”. Face covering? What the hell does that mean??? Cheesecloth?…Coffee filters…Granny’s old handkerchief? I guess by that definition a mosquito net would do just fine.

      If you want to use PPE, by all means, knock yourself out. Your vulnerability to outside bacteria, viruses, etc. are never contingent on whether others are using theirs, so stop berating those who aren’t adhering to your flawed logic. Like claiming you were seriously hurt in an auto accident because the driver of the other car wasn’t wearing his seat belt.

      If this mask mandate was issued for a work site hazard,with so little useful details and such vague parameters,the safety idiots would face revolt and then their firing.
