      1. Thanks. John Batchelor interviewed the speaker a few years ago. Once in a while, it shows up in the RSS feed for his show. It’s definitely worth listening to.

    1. Don’t let Nenshi or Iveson see that. They’ll make those mandatory in their respective cities as well. That’s because the science is “settled”, right?

    2. Ha! Ha!
No way José, I’m not wearing a lampshade!
That’s got to be a joke, one would trip and fall unless it were clear plastic. What are they thinking?

      1. I thought lampshades had to be worn on one’s head and only after consuming copious amounts of ethanol. On the other hand, maybe one needs to be zonked to wear one of those things in public.

        1. Some might call it a masterpiece for a politician who continuously has bright ideas….

    1. Common sense reporting that nothing at all will come ftom the RCMP “investigation”. Commissioner Brenda Lucki is on top of the situation. Wik, nod.

    2. Examining is not an investigation.
Examining can also mean to audit for incriminating evidence or to compose a legitimate reason why they won’t investigate further.
If the later, the individual that came up with Morneau’s resignation speech will be advising the RCMP on the public notification explaining why no investigation is necessary.

  1. Three Gorges Dam Update.

After the last two weeks, they drained the dam pool down to 153 meters by the 14th. Now on the 19th, it filled back up to 160.5 meters, even as they increase the releases to 48,000 cubic meters per second, and the flood raises the downstream river level at Yicheng to 72 meters. Why? There is a lot of water flowing down the upper Yangtze River, almost 74,000 cubic meters per second. That is an enormous amount of water.

    https://journal.probeinternational.org/reservoir-level-3/

Expect the river to fill the dam pool higher this week. They still have 15 meters to the normal top of the pool level of 175 meters, so I don’t think it will overflow. I also expect another breathless scare-mongering media report about how the dam is going to fail about Monday or Tuesday next week.

        1. I can see a lot of Canada’s future in that feed.

PHDChen could have a solid future in canada, as a Media interpreter.
          Good Liberal material.

      1. Kate,

It’s a monsoon season. This has been a very rainy monsoon season. It has hit many countries over there with bad flooding, not just China. I don’t think the dam is in any danger, it has survived about ten years now. Every year after the rainy season, they fill the pool up to 175 meters to make sure they have enough water to survive the dry season. So filling it up will not cause it to break.

But the big commercial news media needs a hook, a gimmick to get people to click on their story. “Huge Dam May Fail!!!” is a great hook. One story had “Emergency in (Yellow River) Provinces as last ditch effort to save 3G Dam (on Yangtze River).”

Also a lot of the reports are not exactly unbiased. Several non-Communist, non-Government news organizations are financed and run by people that are antithetical to the Chinese Communist Party and Communist Government, like Falun Gong. I have seen stories predicting the imminent demise of the vile Chinese Communist Government since at least 2012. Hopefully they will be accurate one day soon.

        1. The problem with that is that the CCP leaders would all get asylum in Canada, and probably end up as your local Liberal MP.

          Points to ponder:
Does anyone know who is more corrupt, the Liberals or the Communists?
Canada probably doesn’t have any working tanks.
The Communists believe in Math. Check your local uni engineering classes.
          Communists don’t like POC.
          Liberals don’t like Westerners.
          Liberals own the Media.
          Communists disappear the Media.
          The Trudeau disaster would end.
I’d better stop before I do my own personal mo strong and have to color the white parts of my canadian flag red and add one big yellow star and four little ones.

      2. Kate, because Premier Xi ordered the Western corporate media to censor any reporting of the flooding problem.

  2. Obama refused call the USA a Republic… Constantly using the Word Democracy (~40 times) . Is that how the Communists hope to avoid the USA Constitution…. A dog whistle

“The key difference between a republic and a democracy is not how power is projected, but the limits to power. Both use the representational system, meaning that the citizenry is represented in the government by elected leaders. In both cases, the majority rule, but in a republic the constitution limits how the government can exercise power. These rights are inalienable and cannot be changed or altered by an elected government. The United States is a typical example of a republic state because the constitution limits the power of the government. Some rights such as the Bill of Rights, the right to vote, and the powers to amend the constitution are limited and cannot be changed by the sitting government without consulting the public directly.”

    1. His speech at the DNC on Wednesday night was anti-Trump, dramatic and unbecoming of a former President.

      I wasn’t surprised.

      1. Obama never had a shred of class. He was and still is a small-time Chicago grifter with no discernible talents, intellect, or achievements. If he’d been white like his mother, he’d never have had any success in politics, let alone become president. The man reeks of black privilege.

        1. O’Bummer was first elected largely because of the legacy of Bush II. He was re-elected because Romney was a lousy candidate for the Republicans.

        2. Definitely, stinks to high heaven more like it. I believe he was a diversity elected, a new phenomenon of a woke world, much the same as diversity hires. Same as Wynne, Nenshi, almost the whole city council in Victoria the list gets bigger every election at any level. No matter what level of performance measures you apply to the aforementioned and those of their ilk, they fail dramatically (except for things no taxpayer gives a rat’s ass about). Methinks we may have to get used to it, I feel badly for my grandchildren!

      2. Nancy, I read something somewhere today along the lines that in his speech Obama departed from his usual stately self.
Barry, the commie shakedown thug … stately?

        1. MND —
          He’s hardly stately, I agree.
Since he retired he seems more dramatic to me. His speech last night came off as a bit phoney as a result.

At this point in his life, I think he doesn’t like any criticism for it might ruin the image he has of himself. After all, he’s a very wealthy man now.

I think some might like to judge for themselves, if they’ve missed his speech, here it is:

  3. Rex Murphy has a great story on Blackie and the fake parliament at the National Post website.

  4. Blackie’s Globe and Mail is excited about a star from Schitt’s Creek taking the free whiny indian course at the University of Alberta. Yeah there is a course that will get you a job. Its right up there with black, colonialism is evil, feminist, and gay studies programs. Rumour has it that classes will be held in a rusted out pickup truck specially brought into the campus bar.

  5. Media this morning that the Russia’s top opposition leader was poisoned, on a plane trip from Sibetia to Moscow, and is jow in grave condition in a coma.

  6. True North reports on how Canada’s bought and paid for media companies awarded themselves federal grants.

  7. I leave in Ottawa, ON
Yesterday around 11pm I could hear an extended series of bang – bang, bang – bang noises (a quiet evening helped).
Fireworks me think, some morons shot fireworks on Wednesday night.
But then there was this bangbangbangbang series.
    Automatic fire me think again?
Impossible! Aren’t automatic guns prohibited in Canada?
So I went to bed much relieved.

    1. Howdie neighbour!
Girleen and I heard similar in our neighbourhood last night. Plus some speeding vehicles – motorcycle then car after 2nd set of ‘shots’. Unsure of time. Listened for cops. None. Back to sleep.
Last week we walked past a shot up house in our hood two blocks over.
      Same ol same ol.
I do my shooting on the range.
      For now.

  8. Phillip I have always described the difference between a republic and a democracy as either “rule by law or rule by the mob.”

  9. What did the recently released WE documents actually show? According to the mainstream media, very little. But Matt Gurney cuts to the chase. The documents show that Trudeau and Morneau lied. The plan to hire WE did not originate in the federal bureaucracy. Rather, the plan was hatched by WE and Trudeau insiders and then the bureaucrats were instructed to implement it.

“The public service did indeed recommend WE. That is true. But WE was recommended after the Trudeau government — not just the public service, but cabinet ministers or their staff — was actively working with WE. The recommendation of the public service, though undenied, did not happen in a vacuum, nor was it generated neutrally. It took place against a backdrop of active lobbying by WE and communication about the matter at high levels of the Trudeau government.”

  10. “So the break down for students returning to Londonderry (NH) district where parents had the option to return or do remote learning is 80% in school and 19% remote with 1% other.
All the chatter I have been hearing has been negative for in person. Goes to show you a small gang can sure make a big stink and make it seem you are the minority.”

From NH based niece and mother of 4. Hope this is the prevailing attitude of parents in both US and Canada.

  11. And now the Liberal Party’s iPolitics website. The loyal Unifor journalists are excited that a number of whiny indian groups are going to court over Enbridge’s Line 5 pipeline project. Meanwhile although Herr Trudeau has banned parliament, his cabinet lackeys are spreading out across Canada. Some will be in diverse Toronto to hand out money for safe illegal drug projects. And Infrastructure Barbie is in Quebec handing out money from Alberta. But hopefully her loyal media doesn’t ask her questions, as she seems to have a hard time remembering what projects are actually approved.

  12. Well if there is one party that is honest about its extortion its the Bloc. The Liberal Party’s CBC reports that the Bloc has stated today, that their support of the government depends on how much is promised to Quebec.

  13. Post Millennial reports that the Liberal Party’s Toronto Star has endorsed Peter Mackay for the leadership of the Conservative Party. The socialists at the Star think he is wonderful.

    1. That’s a good thing, if there’s lots of commercials. That means that The Rebel is getting more money from YouTube.

Or there’s direct subscription to rebelnews.com which means they get a lot more.

  14. FNC HEADLINE…
    “DNC FINALLY WRAPS MISERY-FILLED CONVENTION”

Joe just finished his speech at the DNC. He promises to “build back better” after the China flu. ( just like Trudeau & Chrystia promised)

Course there was the usual rhetoric against Trump. Apparently, according to Biden, Trump has done nothing for the American people. (Sure, sure Joe)

(Yes, he is going to trash America.
It’s going to be a swamp!)
Yes, and there is love, and decency etc
we’re supposed to love each other.
Gosh, I hope Pelosi was listening closely.
    B’bye 50 year swamp creature.

    P.S. I love you too.
