Julie Payette rubber-stamps prorogue request… it has been a cascade of negative press: she’s refused to move in to the official residence in Ottawa, preferring to live at her cottage in Quebec or another guesthouse in the capital — even as some $250,000 has been spent on renovating Rideau Hall. She’s super-private, doesn’t like being in the public eye.

And lets not forget the government jet she uses to travel to her cottage in Quebec, one hour away from Ottawa.
Where is the opposition????
Conservatives? They’re in a study session to determine whether to use “troubling” or “unacceptable “.
Sing-along Singh? He’s busy dictating the terms of the next budget to turdo la doo.
Prorogued.
The only place left for the opposition is to try and get media coverage. Canadian media coverage. Canadian mainstream media coverage. From the likes of Canadian Press, Toronto Star, CBC, Globe and Mail.
Good luck with that.
Admiral Norman trashes Great Leader at the Toronto Sun website.
Payette is making a mockery of position. Why she accepted the position is puzzling. The reigning Monarch should choose who represents them, not rubber stamp a choice made by a political leader. In fact there are plenty of royals who could do the job with no political connections.
She’s only following the tradition started by Adrienne Clarkson, who treated that position with absolute contempt. AC’s successor wasn’t much better.
Little known fact: Elizabeth II is The Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson’s representative in London.
The Royals? Good Lord, they are an even worse clown show. Andrew is a pedo. Charles is too. Edward? Who? William is spoken for. Harry is a dingbat and Charles isn’t even the real father. Who’s left? Send them all on an all expense paid one way trip to Yekaterinberg.
We have a thing called email. Scan the Jesus bills to the Queen and let her designate sign them and do away with the whole office.
Good to see a muzzle on that ugly bitch’s face though.
Oh my, you do have an opinion!
I have a question though, who would read the speech/political BS from the throne? I suppose that could be done via video right from Buck House.
Yes. That’s how the rest of the world does business now.
I am so old that I remember when proroguing parliament was the most undemocratic thing in the universe. Times change I guess.
Proroguing is simply business as usual. The Liberals crapped themselves when the Conservatives did it for the hundredth time. Now everyone has to clutch their pearls when a session of Parliament ends.
This is just one of the reasons PM Weirdo II hired her without a selection process.
I hope if ever a Conservative takes power they do away with selection committees. Seems to be a way to ensure Bolsheviks are selected.
Watch the committees investigating the corrupt Liberals go away.
Or more committees investigating the other committees, all reporting to the Central committee.
Ms. Julie P. brings to mind ‘The Honeymooners’, the old TV show – “To the Moon, Alice!” and Ralph Cramdon – Julie P. made it partway to the moon, but Les Canadians would have been much better off had she not returned. I long for the days of Adrienne.., wait no! let’s get rid of this position, now!
We Canadians are so damn screwed!!
WExit!
Jay?Are you there?
I thought that they were already prorogued, since March. How can they be more prorogued?
+++John
She’s so Canadian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Admiral Mark Norman calls out Trudeau on prorogation
“Leadership means facing problems not avoiding them,” Norman wrote in a social media post on Twitter Wednesday afternoon. “Wouldn’t it be nice if the millions of [Canadians] struggling with the challenges of the pandemic could just hit the ‘reset’ button and ‘prorogue’ their responsibilities.”
Before SNC and Jody Wilson there was Mark Norman!! You may recall that Mr Norman was a victim of the criminal justice system and “many observers believed the Prime Minister’s Office improperly interfered in the justice system to get Norman charged.”
