It all started when we stopped spanking obnoxious children. Oh heck, who am I kidding. All of our problems stem from adopting universal suffrage.
I don’t know about you, Tanker. But, when I was wee high to a grasshopper I didn’t get any of these “time outs.” I got the belt. I got the hand. I got sent to my room. Sometimes the trifecta. I never entertained the idea that it was unfair. I entertained the idea that I got caught.
I, also, entertained the idea that maybe it wasn’t a good path to be going down. I liked the option to sit down every once in a while.

Same here. My parents, however, warped me for the rest of my life: I was never in trouble with the law (aside from minor traffic offences), never did drugs, and, worse, went on to get a good engineering education.
As far as “special” children, I encountered enough of them while I was teaching at Armpit College. Every one of my students was “unique” with his or her “needs and expectations”. And people wonder why I gave up such a “good” job when I quit…..
No rod spared by parents in this family either. But, was provided by parents with a comprehensive sense of humor for balance. Has served very well, providing happiness throughout life so far.
Observation: those without a sense of humor, sadly quite often, have no sense at all.

In pre-industrial times, men depended on their children being raised in the way they should go to ensure they had any support when they became too old to do back-breaking work themselves. Sons were expected to start working early in life and be able to support themselves and a family by their late teens at the latest.
Daughters were expected to acquire the skills required by good wives before they married, and remain virgins till marriage, so they could marry men from good families who could support families themselves.
Today? Instead of raising a child in the way he should go, you can put the baby money into the stock market. Your “golden years” will be paid for by somebody else’s children. Why bother trying to make anything worthwhile of your own (if you bother having any of your own?) Let them run off with the gypsies if they like. Your RRSP and the CPP will provide.
Such attitudes were harmful even when they were restricted to a small class of aristocratic parasites able to live without serious work, and able to allow their heirs to spend years on Grand Tours of Europe drinking, whoring, and studying the latest bad ideas from France, of which liberalism and socialism were just the most notorious. Decline started in earnest when they spread to the middle classes that had birthed the industrialized world.

Been saying it a long time JR, I even mentioned in the last day or two on SDA, a few times that the US Buck is teetering, and when they devalue by pumping in fiat paper, “to save the day” after the last bubble pop, and then the next bubble builds bigger and pops again. At some point, the Fed can’t cover it any longer, and then we have a giant reset. Then we will endure mass unrest, homelessness, deep poverty, and starvation for many years. Now is the time to prep up, buy gold, silver, ammo and popcorn. It will not be long now. We have had continuous low interest rates for decades, no small natural boom and bust problems, which is in itself worrying, because the bust just becomes bigger when it arrives. It will not be pretty, and I believe the coming civil war, will be the final straw. It will be left versus right, and I know what side I’m on, and we are the ones that think ahead.
The left is essentially about reward for incompetence and cultural failure.
They understand they can bluff the youngsters by designating the recognition of dangerous incompetence as racism, that’s easy virtue signalling for the kiddies, someone is supposed to give them money and power for it, I guess
When our kids claim that calling failed ethnic cultural values for what they are is evil…. while they burn and loot, we are in bizarro world……..Antifa has won.
