  1. They had rotating blackouts in Ecuador when I was there. Restaurants even had menus for when they had power and when they didn’t. And as soon as the power went out, out came all the portable generators, to enhance the air quality.

California…achieving the same standards as a 3rd World shithole.

  2. I track energy consumption at 8 warehouses across the country, one of which is in SoCal. Always getting e-mails from the utility there to please lower energy consumption. What are we supposed to do? Turn out the lights? Oh yeah, sure – we’ll just tell our forklift operators to drive around in the dark. What could possibly go wrong?

  3. AOC is, no doubt, gleeful at what’s happening. Her Green New Deal is slowly being fulfilled.

  4. What did Californians use for light before candles? Nuclear power.

It used to be a joke, but those who claim to be green demand it.

I wonder if “green” comes from “soylent green”, the food source they’re looking forwards to enjoying. Not realizing that they’re first into the blenders.

  5. The false narrative of green energy has dominated California politics for half a century. It’s about time that they reap what they have sown. The Spawn / Butts conjoined assholes, their NDP and Bloc enablers and Green Theocrats are all fellow faithful travelers.

  6. Don’t be so hard on Jerry Brown and Gavin Newsom … they’re simply trying to make all our “undocumented” 3rd world visitors feel at home … where power outages are routine business in their shitholes of origin. How very “virtuous” of all his well heeled friends in neighborhoods such as Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Atherton, Sonoma, et.al will feeeeeel as neighboring middle class, Trump-voting cities have their power shut down in a symbolic signal of solidarity with the third world.

Yes, it is insult added to injury. A very REAL kick in the nuts to all the legal residents of CA. A reminder that they are just one more property tax increase, sales tax increase, vehicle tax increase, gasoline tax increase … and PG&E rate hike away from one of the State’s expanding homeless shanty towns.

    1. It’s not a coincidence, rather because of the heat wave, that PG&E has rolling blackouts.
Kenji, take care of yourself and family, and good luck.
I really don’t understand people. What bad things happened when we had Republican (that excludes the Terminator, apt name for what he did to the California Republican party) governors? Oh yes, they were hard on illegal aliens. But SF and LA weren’t literally full of shit and we didn’t decommission perfectly functioning nuclear generators to cause blackouts. I believe when things go well people take it for granted and can’t imagine little acts of “kindness” (to illegal aliens and homeless and “the Planet”) can cause the whole civic order to collapse.

  7. You would think they would open their eyes and see the truth and the reality. How long before the poverty stricken homeless grow into an uncontrollable number. Then they will begin to take from the haves, until they are no longer the haves, and then they’ll need to find a tent and join their ranks.
There is also the fact that most people know that the south west corner of the US, is much warmer in winter than anywhere else. I’m sure if they polled the tent cities they would find a lot of migrants from colder areas of the country. Just ride the freight trains to get there. When you have nothing to lose, the taking, and killing is much easier. Those that get caught then have a roof and three squares for a while. That is, if they survive the drugs, disease, rats, and fellow tenters stealing the stuff they stole. We have a very dark future to endure.
