  1. There is not a single organization, profession or trade that doesn’t have a % of idiots, sociopaths, psychopaths. It’s tough to find the % of idiots in the general population, however, psychologytoday.com has articles suggesting approximately 1% of the population are psychopaths and 3% are sociopaths.

    Assume various Police Departments have a better track record than most professions due to a better than average vetting process. So, instead of 1 out of 25 members being a sociopath/psychopath, let’s be way conservative and estimate the police number is 100 times better, meaning they only have 1 in 2,500 Officers in that category.

    In the US, there are approximately 1 Million Police Officers serving a population of 328 Million. Therefore, using the above conservative number, there would be 400 US Police Officers that are ticking time bombs. Let’s say they’re lucky and only 1% of that number do something horrific in any giving year……That would be maybe four Nationally Reported Incidents per year proving that ‘police are horrible/racist’….then add in the % of ugly incidents that are committed by otherwise good cops that are just having a bad day, or make a split-second bad decision.

    My point is this: If we want to live in a society governed by rules, and we hire Human Beings to enforce those rules, then it is statically impossible for their NOT to be a half-dozen or so ugly, indefensible, horrific, and/or racist incidents every single year that draw national attention…..In fact, with a million US cops, I’m frankly surprised, statistically, there aren’t even more. In the age of social media where something bad happening in New York gets the same attention in Seattle as if it happened in Seattle, there’s no getting away from the consistent narrative among the left that cops are horrible.

    There is no solution until the left can accept that there always will be bad cops doing bad things. So long as when they do, they are punished appropriately, it just needs to be considered a fact of life.

      I question that assumption. In fact, I suspect that the vetting process actually makes it easier for them to get in. Psychopaths would actually appear to be brave due to their lack of response to fear. The only thing that I am aware that would act as a specific filter for psychopaths is the IQ standards, as Psychopaths in general have higher IQ’s than normal.

      One should not assume that a psychopath or sociopath is automatically a bad thing, but unless they have found personal reasons to follow societal norms, they are not likely to follow them. There are many more dangerous traits that need to be weeded out, and at least a psychopath or sociopath would be unlikely to have an irrational emotional response knowing his brothers would cover for him than many others.

      I think the application process and department certification process should require them all to write essays on Sir Robert Peele, from whom the British nicknames Bobbies and Peelers were derived. It was after all his plan that massively reduced violence and crime, which seems to increase the farther policy strays from his ideals.

        I agree with much of your statement, but I don’t believe the quote here is necessarily true. Psychopaths come in all flavors, the dumb ones end up in prison, something like 25% of the prison population I read somewhere. The most intelligent ones end up in high value societal positions CEO’s, surgeons, military generals, etcetera where empathy is a detractor to the mission at hand.

        Of course the Psychopaths with other underlying mental illnesses and fetishes end up as pedophiles or serial killers and run the gamut of intelligence and careers, but are most likely to try and work their way into positions with access and power over their prey. Politicians, clergy, police, military, sales to name a few.

  3. Seattle has been attacked tonight, in the burbs, by the looters. AFter wreaking havoc last night downtown, it was left for the virtuous demonstrators to “protest tonight”. What a group of snowflakes, watching them for the last few hours. Total snowflakes and poseurs, even had a trumpet boy, ranting and raving, and a few others jibber jabbering nonsense and the usual chants and garbage that these professinaol protestors are famous for.
    But tonight, the looters have attacked Bellevue, Renton, and Tukwila, which is famous for its SouthCenter sprawling mall.
    This isnt random. This is completely co-ordinated, and indefensible, as I told my stupid son tonight. One step away from telling him to find somewhere else to live if he cant tell right from wrong. Infected by rap music, Snapchat BS and FB, our kids are easily twisted by the idiots on social media!

    1. Myself, my siblings and my friends ALL got the “stink eye” from our fathers when we turned 19. This means we were told “when are you going to leave home?” I was “allowed” a gap year to save money for university (which was in a different city) and “allowed” to come home for the summers to earn money. This was the same for all of my peers except for our youngest brother. At the age of 23, he was told by my parents that they had sold the house and were moving and he was NOT coming with them. Mind you this was back in the early 70’s. Nevertheless, my daughter left home at 19 after a gap year, and came home for 1 summer to work. Then she was on her own for good. I think it builds character to have to live in residence and live with “less than special” room-mates and not have all the modern conveniences such as dish washers and in house washer/dryers.

      1. I couldn’t wait to be on my own. My first experience with that came during my undergrad studies. I had a number of roommates while I lived in residence but I had a single room during my junior and senior years.

        Then came the time for me to take a job. I had more than one offer to consider, one of them being back in the area I grew up in. I asked a clergyman about which one I should accept, and he told me to take one out of town, ending with “Your parents have to grow up, too.” That was the answer I needed to hear.

        That didn’t mean that I completely cut my ties with my parents. We saw each other from time to time and I often called my father for advice, such as how to fix something on my car.

        Even during the times I was unemployed, I insisted on getting through it on my own, though my parents sneaked a few bucks to me once in a while.

    I’ve had cops treat me like I was a piece of dog shit – while working, dressed in hardhat, high viz, work boots & clothes, etc. no less – and like a human over the decades. I give them the 50/50 rule. Half are wanton douchebags, half are humans. On a good day, but probably not in K-bec.

    However the police are a necessary evil, at least in urban settings in my opinion.
    If the justice system wasn’t a sorry joke maybe they wouldn’t be so quick to view just about everybody as a criminal.

    1. I still don’t understand what this new word “racialised” is. Does it refer to things that have been made racist?

      Were we all one race, once, then, like the language Tower of Babel, we were divided up into races? As the word has only recently become current, I guess this new splitting into races is a new phenomenon.

      1. I don’t think “all one race” is as accurate as “Progressive” ideologues want to portray. Common ancestor is probably more accurate. Races developed independently through admixtures of other hominids at various times and geographical locations including genetic mutations for a variety of reasons, especially via selective breeding.

        African’s today are not unchanged from 60K – 200K BC either, they have also undergone admixtures with archaic “ghost” hominid species after the earliest “Out of Africa” theories.

        So the new unbiased and ethical geneticist are now telling us.

Unemployed people because of the virus are now rioting in America. The rest of the world is turning against America because of the ginned up media.     2. Many suspected this was the case. Governments have completely over-reacted and caused much damage– economic and otherwise. Italy has also said that the virus is effectively gone from there. Trudeau needs to stop his nonsense and exploitation of the lockdown. Media needs to hold governments to account.

      1. If the grand national curfew/house arrest stopped, a lot of people are going to panic. Their 2 metre “safe spaces” will promptly vanish and they actually have to be in close proximity to their fellow citizens once again. Their displays of “practice social distancing, you varlet!” arrogance will no longer be accepted and they’ll be seen as obnoxious just like before.

        Dear Leader will sense their fear and will keep them safe.

  10. I watch BNN-Bloomberg news, as an economist and as an investor, but mostly because ostensibly the news channel has avoided the propagandistic dreck that passes for news on CBC and CTV. But this morning, turning on BNN-Bloomberg this morning at 8 am Eastern, the channel led of with 14 straight minutes of CTV propaganda supporting the riots. We have heard that various billionaire oligarchs, in the last few days, are siding with the BLM anarchists. So it seems BNN-Bloomberg has joined the corrupt oligarchs as well.

A few months ago he criticized the federal Health ministry for its incompetence — ergo no more federal grant dollars. Since then, the good professor has been on a tear.

They also discussed how wonderful the Liberal Party dictatorship is in handling the issue. The CBC earlier had Blackie’s lapdog leader of the NDP explaining that Canadians are racist bastards. Great Leader started off his drivel today explaining that Canadians are racist bastards, and then handed out a couple of billion dollars to municipal governments. Now diverse Toronto can water dead tree stumps again this summer.
