The always pragmatic Bjørn Lomborg has an in-depth and brilliant conversation with Adam Carolla. Well worth a careful listen.

More than 2 hours??? Feature movies are shorter! Couldn’t he just release shorter clips of the best parts and if we want the complete context it’s available too?
Skip to 1:15 if you want Bjorn, everything before that is mindless filler…at least the bits I listened to.
It’d be interesting to know what Adam Carolla and Jimmy Kimmel think of each other, given that they used to do a show together.
Carolla does more for society in one episode of “Catch a Contractor” than Kimmel could do for the rest of his career. I mean, he’ll end up interviewing that Swedish Soros Sock Muppet, what does that tell you?
I would love to have transcript. I prefer reading as oppose to watching.
Especially, watching what is essentially a radio show. I like Carolla but that’s a long time to listen to anyone ramble.
I picked up his tome, “The Skeptical Environmentalist” years ago in a thrift store. Admittedly I’ve only glossed over it but the chapter summaries are full of common sense solutions.
Solutions, only if there actually happens to be a problem.
Wrong, OWG. There are plenty of problems around the world. The difficulty is that the distraction of global warming prevents any serious attention from being paid to them. There’s a slew of serious problems such as: communicable diseases; contaminated water; serious food spoliation on a global basis; lack of access to reliable energy supplies like electricity. There are many problems and by pointing out what a distraction AGW is from them, Lomborg is hated and opposed by every green slime member and organization out there.
cgh, the only problem we have is government control as do they.
Lomborg gets it partly wrong when he says Sweden listened to the experts, as if the experts knew what every individual should do. What Sweden has actually done right is mostly to let the people decide for themselves. Who is the most “expert” about yourself, your own personal health, your preference for how much risk you want to take to catch the virus or die from it?
Even for large public gatherings like pro sports, which Sweden banned, why was that necessary? Will I, as an older guy with a health condition, still want to take the risk of going to a prime virus spreading event of closely packed, hard breathing / shouting fans? Maybe I will take a pass for few months until all those robust young people have had the virus pass through, develop immunity and then make games non-spreading events.
