      I first heard this when Dr. Demento was interviewed on the CBC Vancouver late afternoon show nearly 40 years ago. DD mentioned that Weird Al made the audition recording using only an accordion and a tape recorder in a university men’s room.

    Several months ago, he announced over a year ago that Canada was “going to the moon” as MDA, part of the Maxar organization, was going to build a manipulator system for the proposed Lunar Gateway. It doesn’t look like that’ll be happening any time soon.

    Somehow, I don’t think HRH is too concerned about it right now.

    Expect another horrid, if not record down day on Monday.

    Unfortunately, and I hate saying this, but the Trump administration is using all its ammo now, and the battle has just started. If we think things are bad on the market, wait until the 2nd Q results are announced in July. Too many companies are either shut down, have reduced operations, or will see huge losses, at least thru then.

    Will this be a 3 or 4 month blood bath? Or will it find a floor in the next two weeks that seemed impossible a very short time ago?

    1. I checked Bloomberg earlier this evening and the Asian and Pacific markets aren’t looking too promising, either. It’s going to be another rough day tomorrow.

      I’m sure that no matter what Prinz Dummkopf and his courtiers will say tomorrow, Toronto’s going to take a nose-dive.

      1. Oh yeah, the markets are intertwined as it were the businesses are interrelated. Unfortunately, it also means good, solid, relatively unaffected companies are caught in the maelstrom. Those are your opportunities to weather the storm.

        Think utilities, telcos and cablecos, Costco, M$FT……

        Anything with travel, leisure, etc, are virtually without value. Its awful, perfectly good companies, literally ripe for destruction. Which will survive? Those that do, will be a GREAT opportunity to buy on while they’re on life support. Of course AC will be propped by the LIEberals, as will any LIEberal pet project, Bombardier anyone?

    2. Beijing and the globalists will stop at nothing to overthrow President Trump. And nothing means exactly that.

      Chairman Xi, when he gave the order to release the Wuhan virus into the environment, knew his own people would be its first victims. As long as it brought forward the day Trump was overthrown and executed (“found dead in his cell”), and a Chinese puppet put in his place, he did not care. Neither did his allies in western Deep States.

      This will drag on till November. Millions of Americans will see their parents die, lose their jobs and lose their homes in the same year, and every “respectable” newspaper will blame the president, not Chairman Xi.

      Unfortunately for Chairman Xi, Americans will know better. And they will re-elect the president.

    Its way too late.
    Containment doesn’t work especially when airports are still bringing in the infected. A half-assed measure from elected asshats. Bet they’re rubbing their hands at the thought of how much power they’re going to exercise over the masses while removing their civil liberties.

    1. I have been tracking the Wuhan Virus confirmed cases for the last 4 days (Mar 12-138, Mar 13-176, Mar 14-244, Mar 15-304) at the Government of Canada Outbreak website. The link is below.

      In the last 3-days we have gone from 138 cases to 304 cases as of 5:45 pm March 15th. We are seeing a doubling of cases (or more) every 3-days. I believe this to be the normalized rate for the spread of the virus. That would mean at the least for Canada that by Wed Mar 18-500 cases, by Sat Mar 21-1000 cases and Tues Mar 24-2000 cases.

      1. … a million cases by Apr 20, a billion cases by May 20, and over ONE TRILLION CASES before the first day of summer!
        So the people shaking their heads in disbelief are wrong… there’s no way there will be enough toilet paper to go around.

      2. Another rate to predict, is cases multiply by a factor of 10, every 13-14 days. That’s the exponential rate, once a country is at the case, case, cluster, cluster, BOOM part of the cycle. That’s where we are and the US is. Expect that to lengthen out, in time. That’s the curve authorities warn to flatten out, by isolation and distancing measures.

  13. Ok, time for a reality check.

    This is not a black swan. Worldwide viral epidemics happen regularly. There have been at least five in the last ten years alone (SARS, MERS, H1N1, H5N1, Zika, West Nile virus – ring any bells?)

    Second, we are already over the worst. Look at the data on a log scale. The inflection point, where a disease goes from exponential growth to a sigmoid, happened a month ago.

    Third, the reaction has been literally hysterical. Who benefits from that? People are being stampeded like a herd of bison.

    Yes, it’s serious, but we’ve handled serious before without panic. Use your head. Wash your damn hands. Cough into the crook of your elbow. Don’t go visiting nursing homes, not that we do much of that anyhow. If you’re abroad, don’t cut a vacation short just so you can stand crowded in line with thousands of people in Pearson.

    Have some common sense, take a deep breath, keep calm and carry on.

    1. I agree with you. The disease is not the issue, it’s the media induced panic and economic collapse that’s the problem. If I was into conspiracy theories I would suggest that the people who brought us “global warming” realized that their plan to destroy civilization wasn’t working fast enough, so they came up with this as a new ploy.

      1. Yep it is the same crowd who promotes the man made global warming scam who are promoting the COVID-19 panic.

        1. Because if you’re sleeping peacefully at night, the government hasn’t done its job properly.

    2. We’re not over the worst yet.

      Expect 3,000 cases in Canuckistan by end of month, perhaps 30,000 by Mid-April. By that time, let’s hope that rate of increase is starting to diminish.

      If we keep importing third world trash, Eurotrash, and Chicoms, from air travel, all bets are off. Why doesn’t Dumbkopf just import them all to Ottawa, if there’s little risk? He’s such a serial liar!

  14. The real Black Swan event that took place recently was the idea that all animals need Oxygen, trash that idea, they don’t. Just one exception throws that theory in the trash.

    1. The only thing Saskatchewan and Ontario have in common is unfortunately we live in the same country Hopefully the west can fix that in the next few years.

      1. Rural Ontario voted as overwhelmingly conservative as Alberta. As an Ontarian if you decide to leave I would wish you well and send you on your way. I hope that Alberta leaving collapses the whole country and we get rid of the useless federal level of government for everyone. If you do separate, just be careful that you don’t elect a Notley or Nenshi as your president. Your two big cities, which are more than half the population of the province regularly vote for left wing mayors and councils.

        1. Hear hear. To many Albertan retards on here can’t seem to get it through their heads that Ontario ≠ Toronto and Ottawa.
          The Conservatives got 2.2 million votes in Ontario last election. More conservative votes than ALL THREE prairie provinces combined. And the vast majority of those 2.2M came from those of us living in rural ridings.

          And Albertistanis conveniently tend to forget about Redmonton and downtown Calgary as you say.

        2. Those two cities will kibosh any sepratiste sentiments in Alberta. Shoulda done it in ’81 and the NEP. Now the Old Stock is out numbered by imports in just those two cities. Been here for a while to see the changes. Just being realistic about things.

          1. Glad to see some Albertans aren’t delusional. “Separatism” is a fantasy for people who can’t face reality. Nice to joke about but stupid as a policy because the enemy is already in your stockade and it will never, ever, ever happen.

            I do hope things change for the province otherwise you’ll be working to support Quebec for a long, long time. My fondest hope is that Quebec holds a referendum again. And TROC gets to vote. They’ll be out so fast they won’t know what hit them. Maritimes too, probably. But since most of the hardworking Newfies have already moved to Fort Mac, no loss.
