More insanity from Canada’s most infamous SJW university campus:
Self-identification renders the word “woman” meaningless. Efforts to address women’s issues like the wage gap are impossible with self-identification, since men can self-select into the compensation. But to extend self-ID to all “equity seeking groups” is further madness. Remember Rachel Dolezal who self-identified as black? Or, Emile Ratelband, the 69 year old Dutch man, who self-identified as being 49 years old? Apparently, Laurier would support both claims. Ironically, self-identification renders the equity survey’s results meaningless.
The second example is more troubling. In August, the University announced $1.3M in federal funding to support women entrepreneurs. Several programs will be launched to support female entrepreneurs in non-tech and social ventures, and to support Indigenous women starting businesses in Indigenous culture. So many red flags. Why would the program preclude tech businesses in the middle of the Waterloo-Toronto tech corridor? But the really troubling part is that males need not apply. Laurier and the federal government are actively discriminating against individuals based on an immutable characteristic: sex.
I self-identify as a trans-gender lesbian. My wife self-identifies as a trans-gender gay. We live in a perfect harmony.
So your question was how it was legal for a nearly 100% government subsidiary to discriminate? It is because they want so. FO!
My kid, while still in school, had been savagely kicked by a bully. Ontario had and still has a non-discretionary expulsion provision for any student who injures others. The school board ignored on two grounds that are always used by bureaucrats. 1. This law is going to be changed. 2. The student is a school age and has to study.
In Canada the law does not matter. The only thing that matters is what the omnipotent bureaucrat in charge of enforcing the law wants.
Laurier, of all unis does not have an issue with women being disadvantaged. Hell, back in the early 80’s when I went to engineering school up the street at UofW we all went out of our way to include Laurier women in our plans

Why would anyone want to go to one of these indoctrination centers in the first place… and why doesn’t every dude who wants to attend this particular indoctrination center simply “identify” as a woman, problem solved. Every male criminal should do the same, especially the female predator type, the cat among the pigeons. What the heck are the Paul Bernardo’s of this world waiting for, the Government wants to help them continue their depravity… Bernardo wants to continue to rape and murder, identify as a woman with the aid of the Government.

…it goes without saying that recruiters also ought to shred resumes on sight that contain any reference to attending Laurier (and a host of other SJW indoctrination centers). Lindsey Shepherd would be a notable exception.
That’s been rue for years, though. U(W) students refer to it as the high school down the road for a reason.
And no, Shepherd is no exception. She got a BA in “Communications” from SFU and her WLU MA was in “Cultural Analysis & Social Theory”. These are not real degrees and she has no real skills aside from being young, cute, and female.
It’s hard to believe that this institution began as Waterloo Lutheran University.

Disavowing the Charter as the foundation document of our Rights is breaking with cult who neither know nor think we had rights long before 1982. Well, well, well. I guess it’s time to be a part time student and start identifying as a women, of course I also would be lesbian. I would also start using the waterloo athletic complex during the women only hours, you know, since I identify as a women. Also in the showers when I am constantly at full mast it’s because I am lesbian and can’t help it. Do these people really want to start playing this game?

One of my former co-workers graduated from WLU business/IT program.
He is one of the most opinionated, useless, coward, incompetent wastes of time I have ever encountered.
All hat, no cattle. And he really stinks. Like, smells, as in having an unpleasant odor.

quick version:
I was with a crew adding lights to the main library.
the job was such a mess (I found loose wire nuts in a couple of the new fixtures),
and behind sched I quit a 4 in the morning.
with nothing else to do, I hacked a library catalogue computer (in the old DOS days) and put a msg in the
famous autoexec.bat tongue-in-cheek warning that touching the metal shelves could cause electric shock.
next day when I woke up, I called the physical plant folks expressing my concerns and topped it off
with a call to the student paper suggesting a story.
never did find out what remedies they took.
the job was a disaster right from the start, one crew leader would screw the empty metal box onto the rails
and claim THAT constituted an ‘installed fixture’ taking credit for MY crew which had to put up with parts
raining down on us struggling with all the wires and connectors instead of doing the thing on a bloody BENCH.
I didnt realize at the time w laurier u deserved the mess landing in their lap.
