The Department of Finance yesterday acknowledged taxpayers will see cost over-runs on the Trans Mountain Pipeline. “Costs tend to go up over time,” Associate Assistant Deputy Finance Minister Evelyn Dancey told the Commons finance committee. “I would not be surprised if that’s the direction based on the delays and so on.”
Typical government operation. If the government was in charge of the Sahara Desert, it wouldn’t take long before there’d be a shortage of sand.

So, what else is new? And this government is going to save the planet? Hahahahahahahhahahahahahahha.

My advice to Albertans is to know your options for emigrating to another country. It won’t be long before even Edmonton, with all of its government employees, is on its knees like Calgary, and the rest of the province. There doesn’t appear to be very much “C” in the UCP. Mr. Kenney appears to be very similar to Justin Trudeau when it comes to having Albertans’ backs. That is a fact that does not bode well for the future of Albertans.

Not only is Kenney not a conservative, he has absolutely no understanding of conservatism. I’m sure he thinks CBC is a bargain. He’s no different than “Red Ed” Stelmach and “Alison the Red” Redford.
Of course the pipeline will be over budget:
a) There will be too many siphons in the money stream
b) I believe the pipeline is guaranteed a certain return on capital. So the greater the capital costs, the greater the fees the pipeline can charge. So why would the pipeline come in underbudget?
Liberals can make money building the pipeline. Then they charge high fees for shipping product down the pipeline. So high that it will make oil projects uneconomic. Sounds like another Butts attack on the energy industry.
Don’t forget; the Liberals will sell the pipeline to First Nations. But who will handle the sale? Undoubtedly a good Liberal firm who will collect a substantial fee.
…and SNC has been given the all-clear by the Liberal Party to bid on government contracts. Anyone betting that SNC gets a sole source (and no one can see the details) contract for part of the build if TMX gets the green light? And like previously, followed by a suspiciously high number of max donations from SNC employees to the Liberal Party that all of the government subsidized news media will pretend not to notice?

And. of course there are going to be strikes.
The fascist unions know how to extort money from the government and politicians know how to extort money from the working people.
And so on, and so on.
So……why did an anti-pipeline government buy a pipeline and by extension why did anyone vote for that idiot ?
Is it too late to use wooden nickels ? They are, after all, biodegradable and could heat our homes until the pipeline is built. While that development may be years away I’m certain the Liberals will over mint this traditional coinage as they have with paper currency. Elimination of gold reserves was an environmental protection action. People may ask why doubling pipelines is necessary failing to realize hot air from Ottawa is what we get in return.
And the delays are caused by a spineless government that could have pushed this project into reality with one declaration in Parliament. Governments cause the problems they claim to solve.
It’s not going to get built. Not in our lifetime.
Therefore it becomes the perfect government program, infinite cost with no service being delivered at all.
(Except for the convenient distraction. Look over here, not at the rest of our stupidity and foolishness).
Cost overruns are the feature not a bug.

As someone commented the pipeline will never be built anyway.Forget about it and move on we need to strike a deal with Trump to ship our oil to market using existing infrastructure.A deal that is fair for both the west and Americans .
