1. A bit OT but the audio version of Shackleton’s Voyage to the Antarctic, their entrapment in the ice and Shackleton’s heroics to rescue his men is wonderfully produced. If you have 5+ hours on a road trip and you want to hear something special this is it. I think this is the version here:

3. From the pics you can clearly see the ice was way more icey ice than todays glowbull warming sickly ice.
