  1. Elena has got it all wrong FFS! A platform rises up and down, the bicycle stays in place. Who propels the bike? Most Uber drivers because at least 80% are failures at that. Then you rate Hassan or Mutombo’s speed in which you get up to your lofty 150 square foot castle in the sky.

    1. You’re right Buddy. It should have 2 seats. One for the Uber wall biker and one for millenial to get a wall bike ride share on their cell phone.

    1. But it will take up a lot more space if you install enough of them to match the carrying capacity of a stairwell. If people want them and can afford the space and materials I don’t mind but it looks like not the solution to the problems (that most people don’t identify as problems in any case.) I think it would mean less wear and tear on my knees than walking up and down stairs. But so does a bungalow or ground floor apartment, when the time comes, meanwhile I’ll keep exercising on the stairs.

  2. In addition to everything panned in the twitter thread I’ll just add that’ll work great in winter!

Also, between stairs or elevator biking up the damned wall never entered my realm of thought.

    1. This is a good demonstration of why polls about lifestyle, moral and trendy issues are crap. People tell you what they think you want to hear. If you want better data then observe what people do, not what they say.

Forcing people to go against basic human wants and needs will fail. It’s where communists went wrong. It’s why wokeness and climate alarmism will fail. The fact that someone actually has to say things like “I’m not living in a pod, I’m not eating bugs…” tells you how close the left is to having to enact perestroika and glasnost because people are close to tearing down progressives Berlin Wall of crazy and increasingly authoritarian ideas.

    2. Uber Rickshaw would be a “better” solution. Plus it would put thousands of arts graduates to work.

  3. Hmmm…I guess she didnt include calculations for the Extra amount of CO2 expellled when doing hi intensity work. 40 floors worth. I would also expect this pinhead to use a similar contraption to generate power to charge her Tesla for no Electrical source is obviously KLEAN enough for the Eco-tards.

Just another moronic idea from some self styled “Artist”…..
One that will dissapear into the abyss….in about 2 days time

    1. Like kids are so gross and polluty and junk! Hampster powered drones will get Uber eats to me.

  4. I don’t see any safety cams ? Nothing to keep it from falling uncontrollably if some cheap made in China part fails. You
probably don’t want some SJW designing something your life depends on: bridges, elevators, electricity, bricks.

    1. “Imagine no possessions, I wonder if you can? No need for greed or hunger, a brotherhood of man. Imagine all the people, sharing all the world”

The “dreamers” apartments are empty. Just like Yoko Ono, who sold all her clothes to charity. Nothing to move. They’ll leave everything behind … just like a “shared” scooter, or bicycle littering the streets of Oakland.

  5. I don’t even know where to start on the volume of stupid in this concept…and I won’t even go into the climate change angle on the shite idea this represents. In no particular order:

Ummm where is the disembarkation platform that allows you to safely exit onto your floor ….at how many feet up. Who hasn’t caught a foot getting off your bike. Watch the drop. Darwin wins

Not handicap friendly thus will be verboten by government any which way. Let’s put an electric motor on each bike for you.

In most jurisdictions elevating beyond “x” feet requires safety restraints that in this case would end up in requiring the person to be tied with a body harness to the highest point. Ok fine create an enclosure for the person around the bike with electric assist. We have say 6 shafts like this in a building. Can we say we have cumulatively just built an elevator…with a bigger footprint.

Not engineered to work well for volume….. as a few dozen people wait sooooo patiently before or after work. Oh yes is a 3rd alternative…… so where is the hortizontal stairwell space saving again if we accommodate all users?

Sure everyone is fit enough to do the whole vertical. Whoops class stratification along floor levels for the lesser fit ones. Fittest ones get the best views. Unfair!! Fittest shaming!!! Rather discriminatory: Only be for the physically fit and mentally able. No judging here. (ok a bit of a red herring but was fun)

Payload issues like laundry, groceries, small kids. Oh OK there’s still that elevator……

Oh good we still have the one elevator for the big stuff.

FIRE! Fewer if no stairwells for mass exiting …. Just let that sink in

Be sure to take your cell phone with you in case it breaks. Well ok they can have a phone on the bike….but that’s now 6 phones instead of just one in the one elevator.

Have a heart attack while on the bike……. with no restraints or with them in a narrow…… space saving…… vertical shaft. Rescue personnel will all have to all learn to repel instead of just prying open elevator doors

Ok while this is still in prototype stage that this idea even being proffered as viable is sooooooo atypical of an artsy millennial in her fucking Lululemon workout outfit

    1. I think you hit on all the immediate points I came up with, and a few more. To me the biggest show-stoppers (aside from it’s stupid) are 1) the fact that you must be fit, healthy and able-bodied to use it; 2) you can’t even take a few bags of groceries with you; and 3) what happens in a building fire.

  6. One of the benefits of discovering oil was the elimination of human slavery. In other words, a non-human source of energy allowed us to create machines that helped eliminate human slavery.

But now we’re returning to human slavery.

Now I know why collectivists despise oil. No slaves!

  7. “disrupt the ‘elevator or stairs’ dilemma”

No stairs, building catches fire, you goan DIE Cupcake!

    1. Smoke inhalation is the major killer in a burning building situation.
I’m guessing there aren’t too many people cycling around Australia right about now.

      1. I think the #2 killer is heart attack after the smoke or fire alarm scares you death in the middle of the night.

  8. Re: Po’ed in Alberta, I have seen this graph before and I do not understand it. I understand the bottom scale it is in years, but what is the left scale and why are the biggest numbers on the bottom, or is it like a minus number on a thermometer, -30.5 is warmer than -30.0. Is this in Celsius and why is it in the minus 30’s. So many questions, the graph looks pretty but totaly useless

  9. Freaking perfect, now when will they have to kill this old man because he will not pedal his ass upstairs?

  10. Good luck using that if you need to move something heavier than a briefcase up ten stories…

  11. Why every government supported housing project must have one.
Eliminate the stairs and elevators..cause we have a Climate Crisis people.
Looks like the “Down”trip could be really exillerating.
