  1. Same you-know-what, different pile. Remember, lineups like this are supposed to be good for the environment, just like similar lineups for gasoline more than 40 years ago were bad.

    1. There is one big upside to this … car-jackings and thefts may cease to occur with these electric cars …. too unreliable and no way to tell how much charge is left in the big toxic battery. And no quick fill-ups along the way.

No respectable car-jacker is going to go down because he had to stop for a few hours to charge up.

    2. The Tesla owners say … there’s a certain “zen” in … waiting. And it is a good time to catch up on reading and emails. And it’s a good way to teach your small “wiggly” children … patience. All the life skills valued by millennial tools.

      1. Funny huh? Tesla virtue signalling owners, paying a premium compared to a comparable ICE vehicle, but TOO CHEAP to charge their roller skate at home on a 120v adapter or to install the wall mount power bar.
Couldn’t they charge it overnight at home? Nope, gotta freeload instead, but hey, if they miss work or dinner, or kids bedtime, waiting in line for #freeshit while virtue signalling, all is well in the SJW world.
Tesla owners claim to be very smart and virtuous, but the stupid is strong, as is the ignorance of reality

        1. They’re traveling FAR beyond the actual range of their ecomobile (Nevermind the EPA range bullshit). These LA -to- SF travelers will likely have to recharge AGAIN before reaching home. Old fashioned modernism. Stopping when your horses needed water. Anything beyond 30mi/day is out of the question.

          1. Yeah, smart enlightened owners……

They apparently are GREAT coders, making a healthy six figures a year, but they can’t do basic math without a calculator…Geez, how many miles to LA and what’s the limit on my rolling computer? MATH IS HARD.

    1. Charge your Tesla than promptly drive to the end of the charging line and maybe you’ll have enough power until it is time to charge again. Don’t forget to turn on your virtue signal.

    1. I’m surprised the free market of crime hasn’t caught on yet. It’s a half mile long line of easy unarmed robbery targets who can’t go anywhere.

  2. I always laugh whenever I read some comment about “early adopters” of a technology that has been continuously available since 1832. People talking about 200 year old technology like it is something new, proves that worldwide intelligence is on the decline.

  3. With CA energy policies I am surprised there is enough electricity to charge a golf cart let alone thousands of Teslas. I wonder which state they are buying their power from this month?

    1. And there ya have it.
      Indeed, what happens…? LMAO.!!
“yes, you can drive your tesla, but only when we are delivering power…on a 50 yr old tranmission system that has not seen maintenance for 25 years..and, as such, when the Santa Anna winds blow and the inevitable fires start we’ll shut the whole system down”.

Ya wanna save the planet..? ride a bike.
Ya really wanna save the planet..? Drive a gas guzzler – we need more CO2.

      TESLA.?
      Nothing more than Electronic C R A P.

I love these stories Kate…keep em coming..!!

    2. You see … these “eco” zealots WANT you to learn to live with power outages. They LOVE the idea of FORCED conservation. Just as they will be FORCING us out of our ICE automobiles … when any one of these Democrap candidates institute a Federal Global Warming EMERGENCY and ban all sales of all fossil fuels in America. Too EXTREME? As if this sharp left turn Democrap Party is “too extreme” … shit! they’ve gotten away with an attempted coup against the opposition candidate. Now they know they can get away with completely ignoring the US Constitution. The US Police State is THEIRS. The Democrap’s OWN this country. Until ONE single Deep State coup conspirator is tried and jailed … the Left can and will do whatever the hell they want to our country.

  4. “This saga has been truly astonishing. I know that there are always bumps for early adopters, but this is expensive heavy machinery, not an app. What if something had come loose while we were in it?”

What indeed? What would America have lost? An Overseas Chinese princess who writes puff pieces about restaurants selling mediocre, overpriced food to the sort of parasite who can afford a Tesla.

I dare say not much of value would have been lost if the Tesla had bricked just in time to be knocked clear by a Mack truck, driven by a white American who depends on his brains for his bread.

    1. Ass Canadian, yes the chinese are the problem, they are the ever present problem in every one of your intellectually stunted posts. Will sanity ever prevail in your world, or does god not allow that????

  5. If the fossil fuel burned far far away, did it make CO2?

“What would America have lost?” someone bad at math. Something came loose well before the car.

  6. A bunch of selfish virtue-preeners forced to compete for a limited resource that they feel entitled to getting. What could possibly go wrong?

Since we are talking sanctimonious leftards here(and since your average Antifa thug can’t afford a car), I suspect crying and whining will win out over fist-fights as these long line-ups become more and more common.

  7. I would love to be the guy at the front of the line helping them charge their cars. The entire time they were trapped at the outlet…..I would be explaining to them how we burn coal, gas, and other fossil fuels to produce the electricity they are putting into their green cars. then I would explain the science that you cannot transfer forms of energy without some form of loss.

but then again….this is California. I doubt they would stay focused that long.

  8. I see a big market in 2 wheeled or even bumper mounted generators. You can get a 9kw at Canadian Tire for $1500. Throw it on a $1500 utility trailer and you’ll never be stuck. I don’t think you can charge a Tesla while in motion but you’ll never be stuck in line on the road.

Or maybe you could convert your car to steam with an automatic coal stoker.

    1. Or better yet get one and bring it to the line-up and sell chargings for 100$ whilst videoing the customer and putting their carbon sin on social
      Media.

    2. Ok…I now want to buy a Tesla just so I can drive around with a gas generator ratchet strapped to the roof and an orange extension cord duct taped to the car running down to the plug in. 🙂

      1. You can always get the hitch mounted cage at the rear to hold the generator too.

        More aerodynamic……..LOL

  9. What is being overlooked at the present time is the number of these virtue signalling ‘greenies’ that will not pay the cost of installing a charging station in their garage at home, cost about $1,000.00 to $1,500.00. Instead they are jury-rigging a charging station by plugging in to the dryer outlet and running an extension cord into the garage. Wait until the insurance companies start getting their actuaries working on the true costs of insuring EV’s when house fires start rising. I shake my head in wonder every time I see one of these EV’s on the road and wonder how people that are supposed to be educated can buy into this con.

  10. at 30 minutes per car to recharge,
and if there are 20 cars ahead of you,
you will be waiting in line 10 hours

i ll keep my gasoline car thank you
