  1. This should erase any doubt that Environazis truly deserve their moniker.
    By wantonly destroying property and carbon dioxide absorbing trees (the best natural CO2 sink if you will) they have amply demonstrated they don’t give a fig about the environment.

        There’s a big problem with that, OWG. Don’t get me wrong – it has been that high before – it’s just that human-emitted CO2 currently sits at ~408 ppm (we only contribute ~5% of all the atmospheric CO2), and it’s only increasing at ~2 ppm per year. It’s gonna’ take us an AWFUL lot of burning-stuff to get it up to 1,000 ppm; and with Shiny Potato’s (certain to increase rapidly) carbon tax, I doubt we can afford it.

        And if we could, Sockpuppet would just tax all the money away from us before we could git ‘er done. “Born Free – Taxed to Death”.

          1. That is part of the scam, calling CO2 “carbon pollution”. That brings up the image of soot and smog, while we all know CO2 is colorless (whatever Greta says she sees), and odorless. They conflate the two so careless or ignorant people think fighting CO2 is the same as fighting air pollution.

      3. OWG, I meant “care about the environment” from their point of view, which is CO2 is bad. Actually I believe a concentration of about 1000 ppm would be about right. That is more or less the concentration in most greenhouses and homes. As it is, the slight increase to just above 400 ppm has been documented to have greened the Earth, inclusive of the Sahara.

      1. Not to diminish the need to guard against environazis, out of work fire fighters and or jihadis. BUT Several years ago I was burning a 2 meter pile of kindling I had gathered off my wood lot floor when the fire marshal showed up and demanded I put it out because only 1meter burn piles were allowed. In spite of the fact that I had a 3,000 gal. Water tank and an 1 1/2 fire pump right there he insisted, so I put it out with a garden hose. If that had happened in Australia do you suppose it would have made the 99th incident? How many of those incidents do you suppose were as innocent?

    2. It would be so easy to do 2 things. (One) Put a mile wide buffer around urban areas in the bush with zero coniferous forest. The forest fires in northern deciduous forest advance pathetically slow. Coniferous forest virtually explodes in drought and wind. (Two) Build houses that aren’t inflammable. What a concept. Funny no-one has ever thought of it. Plastic siding that melts and exposes wood or paper isn’t such a good idea. Neither is exposed wood or asphalt shingles. If all external surfaces were metal, masonry or other non burnable material Fort McMurray likely would have lost 25 houses, not 2,500. It would likely add few thousands of dollars to a home and save cost in insurance and human misery many time over.

      1. They used to do that in Europe, have a buffer (fields) between the forest and the urban area, and build a surrounding wall of stone and masonry around the entire urban area. I believe they called them city walls.

  10. The policies by governments,that increased the fuel available to burn,is a fact that goes right over the heads of city dwellers.
    I guess unless you have built fires and pushed them beyond sensible limits,you have no concept of how wild fire becomes.
    My father was breaking in bush land to farm,we cut down the scrub,piled it up,usually on difficult stumps and burnt it in the winter.
    Make your own firestorms.
    Even a campfire can teach this lesson.
    But TV never will.
    The follies of past “forest Management” are burning all around the world right now.
    Gang Green and their enablers,our gutless bureaus and politicians are to blame.
    So of course they chant”Climate Change”,when we consider them for future Wickermans..

  14. I do wonder about how the Fort Mac fire got started, the big fire fighting budget cut a couple of months before and the slow response of Notley’s flunkies in the first week. It seems Enviros are quick to apply successful lessons elsewhere…
