    1. Aye, Jamie, tis true, tis true !

On the other hand, there is a big bull Buffalo, pawing the ground, getting ready to clear the all the Cult. Marxist Butts off the prairies.

Stompin’ Tom could have made a national anthem out of that image.

  1. Harper=katholic
    Scheep = katholic

so we have a katholik kult pissing contest on the go

get religion out of politics, as politics is not an emotional venue

    1. Politics is a religion. Might better have some true Christians in office as opposed to true 666 er’s screwing up everything with their Satan worship and their socialist/communist hate of all things moral.

      1. Exactly.
I’m an agnostic but I can see the value in the lessons of the Ten Commandments and in the concept of having morals.

        1. stn, you need more than 10 commandment, you need don’t rape the little boys

          Don’t serve poisoned coolaid

don’t talk the 12 year olds you’v raped into staying in a burning building (Wacko Texas)

Don’t rob the poor to increase your own wealth (damn near every religious cult)

Don’t punish Jews for being Jewish (a 1500 year RCC legacy )

and if you can’t live a moral life without a stupid religion, I’ll buy you the rope, and drive you to a suitable tree

Don’t be like the Phelps, JW’s, katholics.

People in here are just like libtards, unable to see their own sins , and the sins of those like minded

    2. Umm, Stephen Harper attends a Christian and Missionary Alliance congregation. His wife does not. Last I heard. I’ve heard all along this silly notion from silly people that we should compartmentalize our beliefs from our actions. Ask the 100 million or so killed by atheists in the 20th century how that worked out.

      1. Remember, Trugroper whips out his “Catholic” roots when convenient for cynical political needs.
Just like his dear friend Nanny Pelosi!
And then they resume stomping all over those roots on a daily basis.

      2. exactamundo farmer,
compare the frequency and rapidity atheism costs lives with the eons it took carisssstians to do it.
*nobody* has a stellar record on THIS ‘count’ (pun intended), aka I betcha it was mostly carisssstians
doing the killing of other carissssstians.
        all about power.
        and money.

same as muzzies later and communissssssts after that.
the 1 thing all three belief systems have in common eh?

      3. farmboy

Religion is personal, keep it that way, and quit trying to shove it down my throat, I have a right to be an atheist, and governed accordingly. That is such a simple concept even YOU shuld be able to grasp it. I even support your right to your religion, rite up until you try shoving it down my throat by using your beliefs to base your laws on your religion to govern me.

Fact is, in here and with most religious people, they don’t like the lefties shoving their crap down their throats, so why don’t bible bangers practice what they preach ????

    3. As usual, NME, you don’t have a clue what you’re talking about. (And wipe the spittle off your chin.)

    4. Get religion out of politics? Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia, and Communist China did. How did that work out?
With some exceptions (such as the antipope re AGW and US borders) religion by and large is not “in” politics. Ethics and morality are, since you cannot isolate them from the person, and they are rooted in religious beliefs. Take them away, and you have someone who is unethical and immoral, as most leftists are.
And I have news for you. Politics in fact, unfortunately, IS very much an emotional venue, ever since they gave the vote to women.

      1. oldBruin, I remember one of your posts from back a while, and it was eloquent and informative. But this one is emotional based bullschitt. Yes religion was missing for the most part in those events, but not completely. So democracy, personal rites, capitalism, and a few other things. But there is NO proof that any of those missing elements were causative, they were an effect, so maybe you want to bring forward some proof that the missing religion was instrumental in causing these slaughters, rather than being effect of the mind set of people shoving their ideology down other’s throats. Fact is there were many religious people in those countries who did nothing to stop the murdering, their turned over victims to the authorities. In Poland there was a village of about 3000, half Jews and half catholics, the catholic half killed off the jewish half. And for 1500 years the RCC persecuted the jews in Italy , in the last 2 years the RCC of Germany apologized to the Jews for throwing out sanction seekers who came to the church for help to avoid getting killed. So your whole premise falls apart to the facts. Then again it ignores the crusades were the christians specifically went out to kill, so religion is not a barrier to killing. BTW, I do support the reason for the crusades.

      1. OK, Harper had/has my respect for keeping his religious beliefs personal and to himself, as they are bloody stupid and based on absolutely NO valid religious thesis , the second coming has been predicted to happen any time now for 2000 years, and like climate change, every prediction has failed. Hell I was even promised that the world would end by 1985, and if not, absolutely by 2000, that was when I was about 14, and that was also the straw that broke the camel’s back. It made me confirm to myself that I would now be a devout atheist

        1. I see you got someone to do your typing for you, Mr. “Qatoliks took owr jrrrbbbsss!”.

Do you need to be reminded what you typed?: “Harper=katholic
          Scheep = katholic”

You can’t even get your slurs or facts straight.

Who made abortion (a secular issue and the reason why great influxes of unwashed Jew-haters like yourself are replacing “old stock” Canadians) an issue?

          Justin the liar did.

          You fell for it big-time.

Then again, you look forward to any opportunity to prove not your militant atheist credentials but your wankerist ones, as well.

    5. All our laws are based on religion. Thou shall not Kill, and thou shall not steal are religious values. They are not universal, and they have not been with us since the beginning of time. They are laws because of our religious heritage. If you want to get religion out of politics, which values are you going to base your laws on?

      1. Yes, prior to that it was, “I’m bigger than you and I’m gonna take your stuff, do your wife and if you don’t like it I’ll bludgeon you to death.”
The Judeo/Christian rules pushed for mutual respect as a means to discourage the former behaviour.
Just because some tyrants still meted out abuse in the name religion does not make the rules any less valid.

        1. PragarU has a great article on what a leveler “eye for an eye” was. Arguably, we wouldn’t have our current justice system without it.

Not to say that we have a true justice system, just that the ideas behind it came from that tradition.

      2. minuteman, just how stupid are you. 2.8 billion people on this earth are not of the religion that those “commandments” came from, and I do not see or hear about rampant criminal activity in those cultures. Fact is they hold much the same social legal beliefs as we do, with out our type of religious molding
. Your whole premise is a fail. Try taking a course in logical thinking rather than religious belief BS :-)))

        1. NME666 – Bullshit they do. In many places slavery is still legal and common. If you think that all cultures are basically the same, go and live in New Guinea, or Saudi Arabia. In Saudi they’ll behead you for speaking out against the king and in New Guinea they’ll eat you. Assuming you are talking about muslims, you are aware that if you went to Pakistan they could kill you because you are not a muslim, and there would basically be no consequences, because in their belief system you are garbage. They kill their wives and daughters over honour crimes all the time, and it’s accepted at totally normal, just and right. You really need to get out more if you think that our belief system and laws are universal.

    6. Just a bit of clarification Scheer is Roman Catholic. Harper attends the Alliance Church. The two are not the same.

  2. Can anyone here think of a single, willing Canadian Conservative who has the character, leadership skills and guts required to lead and unite the CPC while bravely confronting the leftist media horde and all the other entrenched, conservative-hating leftist institutions?

    Me neither.

      1. Hey steakman, I voted for Max….. but he now has a less than ZERO chance of leading the CPC. I also seriously doubt he would now be “willing” to even consider it, anyways.

Cripes, I wish people would read posts properly before they address them.

        1. I am a PPC member who recently renewed his membership for 12 months.
As a PPC member I receive a newsletter. Maxime stated he has 0 interest of running again for the CPC, which he said was still morally corrupt.
Most PPC candidates right now are enacting their “lessons learned” for next election.

    1. Not going to happen. Canadian politicians don’t lead, they follow. If I was leader of the party I would set out my platform and then try to convince the voters that my vision was the correct one, but that’s not how it works. Politicians are in it for the power and paycheck not for any ideology. The Cons are going to try and out liberal the Liberals, because they think that’s what the people want. It obviously is what the people want, but that could change if someone explained that we are going to go full Venezuela unless we change our ways.

    2. When I asked the most capable, insightful, intelligent, well spoken politician I have ever met, if he would consider a run for the Prime Ministers office, he said, “Why would I put myself in line for that kind of shit?”

  3. So Brian, by declaring that the party ate one of its own, has unintentionally spoken the truth that the disappointed conservative voter already knows: yes, the majority of the so-called conservatives are cynical opportunists, just like Schemer. And yes they threw one of their own out, and that’s so sad: who cares?

That’s nothing compared to what the conservatives do on a daily basis to the honest people who voted them into office.

    1. s c, true conservatives in Canada are a rare breed. I may be the only one living at this point in time. Liars always screw over the voters, just look at where this poor country is now with a tax on every breath we take and necessities of life. Real conservatives would not do what has been done by so called conservatives for the last 75 years. No one has reduced the size or the cost of government and those who promise any tax relief always take it back with a different tax increase. As I have been saying for decades now Canadians are stupid socialists who always want something for nothing. Now with Christmas on the way maybe at least one of the morons in office will do something sane, other than give your tax money to someone who never contributed to Canada in any way.

      1. If you disapprove and would abolish socialized medicine (the point upon which I loose all my friends who like to call themselves conservatives) then there are at least two of us. I look forward to your posts. Thanks. If ever we disagree, I will take it up with you.

    2. All politicians, ALL OF THEM, are schemers. It’s not a way of life for naive, purists, you will either be eaten alive, or, like Lizard May, rump status and nothing more.
Max, for example, a purist in many peoples opinions. Couldn’t win his own seat.

If you want to win, it has to be a big tent. Worked for Reagan, worked for Harper, worked for Trump.

      1. Worked ? Chain migration worked with all of them. Big Tent is not the way to go. Principles matter not opportunism.

  4. Right now, there is not one prominent Canadian conservative politician in office, or recently out of office, that I would vote for to become leader. None of the current premiers, none of the recent past premiers. None of Harpers cabinet ministers. None of the last crop of leadership contenders.

What a sad, f-ing state of affairs.

  5. Don’t care who they pick now.
What I know is that there is about 44% of the eligible voters that don’t vote which means they won’t vote for the current government and they won’t vote for what’s on offer to replace it.
I also believe whenever someone comes out to offer something to those voters the useful idiots (ie:WK) treat them to the usual ad hom attacks of “ists” and “isms” and the party apparatus following this advice without question convince the newly minted leader to not rock the boat and scare the centrist MTV voters that will never vote for them anyways.
So I don’t care, and won’t care till I see someone on the ballot ready to drain this swamp.

  6. Until the Conservative party defines what it is I don’t give a f**k who the leader is because that party is not conservative in any way, shape or form.
There are lots of leaders out there. But they’re not in politics, they don’t speak K-bec any better than Max speaks English, if at all and they’ll scare the shit out the current ship of fools because the truth makes most people cry these days.
The average Chinadian is a socialist whore who’d suck off any syphilitic promiser of government goodies.
Voting is pointless in this post nation.

  7. Don’t worry, once the Conservative Party follows the orders of Blackie’s media, and gets a leader who is from Quebec, promotes abortion, prances in gay parades, and supports global warming scams everything will be ok.

  8. I liked Scheer. he was a nice guy, especially compared to Trudeau. However he lost what should have been a cake walk of an election for him. Sorry, but he has to go. As for who to replace him with? Fire, purpose, maybe a nasty tweet or two. Canada needs a total SOB to kick butt, a nasty to drain our swamp. A really C–t woman could do it too. Where is Canada’s Maggie Thatcher? Enough with the Nice Guys. We know where they finish.

    1. You seem to forget that this is Canada and the rules are that Conservatives are not allowed to be nasty or the Media will attack.

In fact, the rules are that the Canadian Media will attack the Conservative Party if they play politics at all.

Actually, it really doesn’t matter what the Conservatives do, the Canadian Media will attack.

      So, to recap.

No matter what the Conservative Leader does, they will have to fight against an almost universally hostile, co-opted Can Media, a Liberally infested Bureaucracy/Government, a Liberally infested Courts, a Liberally infested Education System, a Liberally infested NGOs, a Liberally infested International Brotherhood/Leftwing Governments, a Liberally infested Business/Corporate Welfare regime, a Liberally infested Institutional Complex, a Liberally infected Majority Populace, a Liberal Party Owner Laurention”Elite” , an Ineffective/Incompetent Conservative Party Leadership, and last but not least, a Cowardly, Apathetic, Easily-Cowed Conservative voter/populace.

Not a woman dead or alive that could deal with such overwhelming odds, hate and vitriol.

And darn few men. Certainly no Canadian.(see well meaning but ineffective, eventual surrender artist Steve Harper)

      It requires a Trump.

      And we don’t have one.

      Not even close.

      1. I have to agree that we need a fearless-fighter, and someone who can stand up to the deepening insanity of the leftists.

What we we will get is a Laurentian compromiser, If we are lucky they’ll be from Quebec and acceptable to Quebec. (and the west would then continue to be told to ‘enjoy’ the sodomy by Eastern elites).

  9. The Christian religion is no longer tolerated in Canadian politics. Openly declaring yourself a Christian is your exit from the halls of power.

The mohamedians don’t pretend to separate church from politics, they are one and the same. They, however are tolerated in Canadian politics. Embraced even.

The CPC is largely western based. It will be interesting to see how the leadership plays out as different factions of the party fall upon each other – savaging opponents.

This is the quarrelsome nature of conservative philosophy. We argue incessantly over points of minutiae, piffle.

Liberals on the other hand are proudly flexible. Not bound by personal philosophies they seek only power. Their greatest strengths are conservatives themselves.

The Toronto convention will now be a leadership contest. If conservatives dont come to their senses the party at the end will never be more divided and who knows where that will lead? The libranos must be gleeful at the prospects.

    1. muslims , who want to kill you are protected. the koran says that all infidels are to be enslaved or killed. read the damn thing.

    2. ab, mooselimbs and sikhs, don’t and why should they , if kristians don’t want to keep their religion out, why should any one else?

  10. I’m out of ideas about who would make a good conservative leader but one thing for sure, Blackie’s media have their allies and useful idiots in the general population who like to badger a conservative about his or her views on sin and abortion while giving a free pass to those from the left and BTW one of those leaders from the left wears his religion openly in the form of a turban, that turban being part of his religion and part of who he is.
Where were the questions to Singh about his same sex beliefs and his ideas about how to keep religion out of politics?
Oh wait questions like that to Singh would have been deemed intolerant and bigoted.

    1. nold, it used to be that being a conservative meant that you were a free man in favour of small government and individual responsibility and literally looking after yourself. The government did not do that. Where the hell are we now? Think, because no one does these days.

  11. As many of you know, I voted PPC in the last election. I was the only one in my riding as it turns out.
Non the less, I will continue to support the PPC until they win or the west gets out. And, I’m a proud Christian.

Good luck to the LibCons, may they tear this defacto country apart into workable nations.

    God Bless everyone!

  12. Scheer makes $300,000 a year as leader of the opposition. He lives rent-free in Stornoway and has a driver and a chef. He’s got LOTS of money to pay for his kids education himself. All the seniors on fixed incomes and working-class folk who make a tiny fraction of what Scheer makes want their donations to advance the cause of the CPC and conservatism in general, not to pay for private school for the leader’s kids. What’s so hard to understand about that?

Michael Chong is almost certainly running for CPC leader. To establish his “conservative” bona fides, he just announced to the media that he supports equal marriage and women’s reproductive rights (using the leftist agitprop terms for gay marriage and abortion). He also supports the carbon tax and bragged that he’s marched in the Toronto pride parade. No doubt he also supports open borders immigration. What a laughing stock this whole worthless CPC is, God help us all.

    1. Michael Chong hasn’t a hope in Hades of winning anything, IMO, he is not a team player for a start, although that might give him an edge with the media. The media love division among the Conservatives.

Conservatives have become a feckless mess of nothingness, they think they can win votes by being all things to all people which amounts to standing for nothing.

      1. Chong is the modern day David Orchard. CINO. There’s something seriously wrong with hypocrites like Chong and Orchard, either they are oppo plants to disrupt or ill between the ears. So are their voters that support them.

  13. jeppo, it should be law that ALL politicians’ kids must attend the public school system.

It should also be unlawful for any politician to step outside of Canada’s health care system, too. They should be forced to stand in line like the rest of us peons do.

I bet you would see both collapsing institutions whipped into shape within a year!

    1. If you think only “rich” people send their kids to private school, you’ve fallen into the socialist propaganda trap.

    2. Let me fix that for you.

“it should be law that ALL politicians’ kids must attend the public school system unless you advocate for private education.

It should also be unlawful for any politician to step outside of Canada’s health care system, too unless you advocate for private health care alternatives”.

BTW we already have too many laws.

      1. *precisely* JC
as I posted earlier, if, IF scheer [stoooopidity] distrusted the public edjukaySHUN cystem, *DO SOME ARM TWISTING TO FIX IT*.
        but he didnt.
more hypocrisy which cost him the pmo and party leadership. good !!!!

        1. Derek Rants ☠ Plaid Army
          @Derek_FacT

          Scheers steals conservative leadership race…

Scheer makes a liberal woman deputy leader…

Scheer steps down as leader making the deputy the new leader…

Now a liberal runs the conservative party…

Ok Scheer bots… where are you now?!?!

      2. Ha, I certainly could have articulated that concept better.

I was simply trying to point out that politicians should have to endure the hardships of their shitty policies just like the rest of us are forced to. Ya, I know…. good luck with that.

I don’t know if it was Ralph Klein who invented the phrase “dome disease”, but he is the only politician that I ever heard talk about the disconnect between politicians and their constituents that inevitably grows the more time spent in the halls of power.

  14. Being the leader would actually be pretty simple.

    Stop lying.
Speak only the truth and be honest.
    Don’t be a hypocrite.
Pick at least a few principles.
    Make those principles known.
    Stick to those principles.
Make sure that your actions, make it clear you are not lying about your principles.

Survey says, the number one thing people don’t like, is rules for thee but not for me.

If you say you are a Christian, then murdering the unborn is hypocritical.

If you say you want balanced budgets, then running deficits is hypocritical.

If you say you hate social conservatives, then stop sending me letters begging for my support.

    1. Trump got elected, primarily because when he was asked a question, he gave an honest answer.

“Andrew Scheer, is your party going to end “abortion”?”

“I personally don’t like the practice, I believe it to be murder. But, it doesn’t look like there is wide spread support for any change to the staus quo. Next question “

    2. Well, Trudeau got re-elected, as a walking talking prime example of the Prime Hypocrite.

He’s guilty of 3 out of 3 you listed. We could add his Climate Doomsday attitude to his frequent flier status as well, for starters.

Canadians like hypocrites, in general. This government is a reflection of its voters. Hypocrites, liars, grifters, poseurs and outright thieves. Welcome to Canaderp!

  15. “how this party treats its own”
ummmm, dear Kate, I bin askin meself DAT q for some 4 decades now.
I do not hold much hope for Cdn CONservatists in the next 4 decades.

  16. No Conservative government will be elected in Canada until the average mushy mindless middle voter experiences financial fear and or real hunger in his belly. The Spawn is taking Canada down and the worlds capital flows are cooperating. After that, the Conservatives could likely win with a German Shepherd as leader. I would personally prefer someone like Kate McMillan to lead the Conservatives but I wouldn’t wish that life on anyone given the mushy, spin-driven, internally bureaucratic, Red Tory infested organization that is the CPC.

    Anyone but McKay.

    1. Why anybody but McKay? Is he any worse than any other liberal lite conservative? I want an answer not BS or bafflegab. I read enough of that from so called conservatives about Max and Max was the only freaking conservative in the race. Please prove to me you are not just one more stupid freaking liberal socialist calling themselves a conservative. A thousand word thesis will not do it for me. 100 words or less.

      1. Aside from his Red Tory bona fides, he is part of a political dynasty with enough baggage (Belinda Stronach for example) that the media will take him out when convenient.

Conservatives are a coalition ranging from mindless mushy middle Red Tories to fiscally conservative socially liberal types but all are fatally compromised libertarians at some level. I am more libertarian so I find most conservatives much more socialist / authoritarian than me. Most conservatives, it seems, believe that the party stands for “conserving” the legislated legacy of Tommy Douglas while campaigning slightly to the “right” of the Liberals. If the Liberals want to increase the public sector above 44% of GDP, the Conservatives will fight like hell to freeze it at 44% or only increase it a little. I would have voted for Max if he actually had a party and a chance but instead I voted for the party I disliked the least, the CPC. The west is going down the toilet and conservatives are only capable of temporarily plugging the bowl once in a while.

      1. No, she’s Catholic. Born in Tehran in ’79, Iranian family, but they fled that country after the revolution (father was jailed for a bit first,) came to Canada in ’81, so she was raised here.

  17. oh, and on the issue of public edjukaySHUN, when my kid started hi school, she picked the public secondary school in st catharines.
within a week she was so traumatized by the goings on she asked me to get her switched over to the nearby catholic school.
we had talked about this that summer.
I gave a HUGE internal WHOOOP !!!! and yeeeeeeeeeHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !!!! and had it done in a day or 2.
by graduation, she had a scholarship and won the writing award for her graduation class.
and made some long time friends.

that’s how *we* handled the quality of the faculty, curricula etc.
now she makes about 3 X I did at my best.

  18. “This government is a reflection of its voters”
    Exactly Dan BC
The honest way the question probably should be answered,
“hey I’m as Canadian as the next guy or gal. i don’t have any hard or fast beliefs about anything.
I don’t even believe in equipping our armed forces with the necessary equipment to properly defend our own borders. My main belief is Big Government, not out of any notion that government is better at allocating expenditures in the market place than the free market but more out of a belligerent reflexive anti-American stance that requires Canada to do the exact opposite of anything the Americans do.
For example if America is tightening up immigration we’ll open our borders wide or if Americans are getting tough on crime we’ll make murder a misdemeanor” and so on……..

    1. Its plain and simple cognitive dissonance. Liberal/Left voters NEVER question their leaders, despite, these same parties being the cause of our social problems.

Case in Point! The “Housing CRISIS!!!!!!!!!!” (Notice how everything is declared a crisis nowadays, the meaning of the word is completely lost)

When we have this excuse of a government, importing 300,000plus third world welfare cases, every year, is it a surprise that there is a lack of available housing overall, and that rents continue to rise everywhere? Side effects being, so many homeless and growing. It contributes to, but is not the whole reason, but you get my point?

And its the young, the same young that vote LIEberal, that are getting screwed by trying to find affordable rental housing. You Can’t Fix Stupid!

  19. Please don’t let that resting-bitch-face lazy and frankly dumb Rona Ambrose win. Oddly enough I like Pierre polievre. However I’m ultimately a wexit supporter and don’t care who the Libcon leader will be.

    1. So what: Congratulations on your prediction of Sheer’s resignation. Do you have any insights into the future of Pierre Poilievre?

    2. Rona is rumoured to be the next American Ambassador, so scratch that. Maybe the Liberals are buying her off, keep your friends close and enemies closer?
Lots of reasons the Libs are scared of Rona. She’s smart, she’s well spoken, she is far more convincing than Scheer was on any subject, former cabinet minister, etc, etc. Oh, yeah, SHE IS A WOMAN! She’s a strong contender if she wants it, as she checks off many points on the list of qualifications and opportunity, that would be difficult for the Libs to counter.
Unlike Liberals, she’s very qualified for ANY cabinet position.Liberal wymyn? Well, ever listen or watch any of them? Joly? Barbie? Freeland? All vapid and horrible examples that should never be anywhere near the levers of power………….

  20. One day after Scheer resigns ( so now the should he resign story is dead) according to the media The CPC is in the midst of a civil war. They don’t need nice – they need tough. If you believe they can pick a leader that will satisfy the media you are foolish. ( Wall -Kenny – are you listening). We need a new country.

  21. Rona is married to a Calgary oilman. A life of leisure. She doesn’t need the cut and thrust of politics.

The libranos probably spoke to her about some sinecure. She has been doing their bidding in Washington.

  22. It was a shame that Preston tried to win ridings in Toronto and Montreal. Should let the PCs, Libs, NDP fight for that ground as winning it isn’t worth the sacrifice.
As Devin Nunes says, if they are taking shots at you, you’re over the target.

  23. Why do you people keep calling the CPC “Conservative”?
Based on the last 50 years,it is obvious C.P.C means Communist Party Canada.

Can you name one member of the “C.P.C” who has any plan to stop the wholesale stealing from the ever shrinking number of tax payers?
Why work,if government steals over 1/2 of your return?
What point those 12hr days and long shifts if you keep less every year and the dollar buys so little even now?
So which of your favoured political beasties is going to shrink government?

    Like none of them..

Kleptocracy works great, until it destroys all the producers.
    Socialism equals shared misery.
Except for those animals who are more equal than all the rest.
