The world has a rather long and storied history of being governed and dictated to by a long line of sociopaths bent on having their ideas implemented. One idea is all it takes…feed that idea to a young and impressionable generation and presto! Next thing you know you’re invading Poland or executing millions of your own citizens because your paranoid.
Environmental activism should scare everyone, not because I think they want us living in energy poverty, would that it were so…no, much worse, it’s their end game that should give you pause. If the energy industry was nationalized it would be going all-out full-speed, it is obvious the climate emergency scam is political not scientific, and the anti-hydrocarbon noise is really an anti-corporate anti-capitalism movement. Maybe in our glorious socialist future millions will be moved to camps in northern Alberta to mine the people’s oil sands by hand with shovels and buckets (zero unemployment!), there’s plenty of historical precedent for that.

And banning the tractor will result in more employment than banning the haul truck. Will result in less peons for the government to have to coddle, too (after the first couple of failed harvests).
The climate-extremism will stop soon after the first widespread winter fuel shortage in Canada. I hope you all noticed how fast the rail strike got settled this time, to prevent a propane shortage in Quebec. The farmers all showed up in Montreal on their tractors to protest, and the government fixed it immediately.
The straw that broke the camel’s back in France was a fuel tax. That’s the thing that got everybody who owns a car or a furnace to come out and beat up the cops all over the country, big cities or small. Regular Joe woke the f- up to the fact that he was going to go stony broke. The cost of fuel was taking food out of his kid’s mouths. Carbon tax. Save the world by starving your kid. They’ve been running around in the streets with those friggin’ yellow vests on ever since, been a whole year now.
So here in Canada, a place even more taxed than France, it will be something like that. The price of gasoline is $1.15 a quart right now, it can’t really go up very far from there without people being unable to heat the house and get to work. Can’t get to work, can’t pay the mortgage on your million dollar bungalow in Rexdale, you’re out in a snowbank with no car and no food. People think about that stuff all the time.
That’s how amazingly stupid the Liberals and their horde of yes-men in Ottawa are. They don’t care that people are against the wall, they’ll raise the tax regardless. Personally I think they’ll cause an uprising deliberately, just to have an excuse to punch down on the “deplorables”. I don’t have any evidence for that, it just feels likely to me.
So keep some fuel aside for your car and your furnace this year. Diesel fuel burns just fine in an oil furnace, for y’all suburbanites who don’t know these things.
And stove oil, with a little fuel conditioner, burns just fine in a Diesel engine.
