That's 1 turbine for 119 people
that means china would require roughly:
1,386,000,000 total population / 119 people = 11,647,058 turbines

hmm. Each one of those is likely in the order of 1.5-2 million ea…so we are looking at an “investment” of at least 50 million USD to service 3800 folks …….. Completely UNRELIABLY.
The Stupid is strong in FAR TOO many parts of this planet.
On a side note…any word on the Magical Swedish Retard..? Still barfin away @ 6 knots in the N. Atlantic is she..??

Yes … they have surplus … sometimes.
They forgot to mention those times that there is no wind.
You can expect that from “journalist” not knowing in almost 99% of the time.
To ask such question would ruin the whole feel good story.
Can it be said “fake news”?
Worse than FAKE News! It’s a published LIE. Lies of Omission are just as deadly as lies of commission.
oh no.
no no no no no.
it aint fake or a lie fellas, it’s it’s . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
1.03 10E-15 % of the fcukin truth.
(I like spelling it that way, tq climate alarmists for the unending opportunities to justify said fcukin spelling)
Batteries not included.
Cut the power lines connecting them to the mainland grid and we’ll see how self-sufficient they are.
And of course … the wind blows hard-enough, and constant-enough, EVERYWHERE to replicate this ridiculous example.
If you actually believe the Climate-warriors are good at math and science … then you aren’t very good at math or science.
sooooooooooo, kenji 1+1 isn’t 31/2 you say?????
Only on the LEFT side of the aisle
Dr. Dixie Lee Ray (Ph.D. marine biology) was a scary-smart woman. When she was nominated to head the Atomic
Energy Commission, she learned enough to hold her own against nuclear physicists before she was confirmed.
She also wrote two books on environment issues that debunked every environmental myth. On the subject
of solar PV panels, she stated that in order to supply the city of New York, it would involve a PV array larger than
the city. The same problem plagues the bird shredders. You simply cannot build enough of them to replace
nuclear, coal and natural gas generation. The same applies to solar thermal solar energy. The only difference
is that one shreds birds and the other fries birds!
Without massive federal and state subsidies, none of the alternative forms of energy production would exist. To
make matters worse, the “alternative energy” pipe dreams are the most expensive forms of energy production.
Another factor in the equation is the increased demand for EV’s. The more people who buy EV’s the greater
the need for these pie in the sky “solutions” that involve solutions for a problem that does not exist.
> 11,000,000 of them just for the chirese?
Im buying rare earth metals stock.
oh, wait, *actual* projected demand FARRRRRR less seeing as the chirese KNOW how USELESS these things are
except extraordinary circumstances when the choice is a turbine or NUTHIN.
and *that* spells E-L-I-T-E.
The biomass consists of locally grown straw. Try replacing that with locally grown trees, which have to be chopped down to be fed into the incinerators, and see how the greenies react.
you don’t hear anyone protesting that Drax biomass power plant, that requires shiploads of biomass to be shipped from canada to the UK do you?

I like how the mining, manufacturing, transportation and energy it takes to produce one of these mills, arrays or batteries is all discounted. Not to mention their life span, maintenance and eventual recycle or disposal.
I was recently tasked with disposing of two coffee table sized solar panels where I work (they powered the camera that took a time lapse video of a new building being constructed). The “universal waste” (e-waste) recycler we use couldn’t help me because they are classified as hazardous waste. I’m imagining this is going to take quite a while to find a proper disposal option. No biggie on my end as I charge good money for what it is I do (“consulting”). But it’s yet another hidden cost everybody pays for in the end. Just wait until all these solar panels start reaching the end of their useful life. The disposal costs will be astronomical.
Every TRUE BELIEVER solar panel enthusiast I speak with says it’s a myth that the panels degrade with time. Just more conspiracy theories by Trump cult members. No, they say … the panels last indefinitely … churning out FREE, GREEN, RENEWABLE, power.
Is this the same Denmark that produces 40% of its electricity from imported coal?
// 32 wind turbines to power a small population of 3,800 ! Are you frigging serious! //
This guy is not good with numbers.
Firstly, there are 4000 inhabitants.
&
// By 2000, 11 one-megawatt (MW) wind turbines supplied the island’s 22 villages with enough energy to make it self-sufficient.
An additional 10 offshore wind turbines were erected in 2002, generating 23MW of electricity to offset emissions from the island’s cars, buses, tractors and ferries that connect it to the mainland. //
So leaving the offset sources, that’s 11 turbines for 4000 people.
AND
there are now turbines with 10 times the output of those 20-year-old 1MW types.
Which would mean 11 turbines to power a population of 40 000 people.
Now do your China math.
This guy’s twitter account says “Exposing fake news every day, using occult numerology.”
Now I get it.
dizzknee, you ever seen that schitt in the north sea, it should NOT be there period
As opposed to the famously attractive drilling platforms.

I have yet to see a drilling platform kill birds by chopping them up
What a horrific way to ruin a sunset … a dozen rusting wind towers. For the equivalent energy output, there’s ONE offshore platform for every thousand wind towers
anybody see that episode of ‘engineering fcukups’ featuring the N Sea wind charms ready to KEEL OVER because of a flaw in the connexion between the working parts and the mounting post?
more moolah to fix, increasing costs big time.
When the wind doesn’t blow, we all know you’ll make up the difference.
Q: How many African prepubescent miners does it take to make a lithium battery?
A: Eco-Marxists just don’t care.
Dizzy
Very glad to hear that these windmills supply all the electricity for the 22 villages, 24/7.
Must be a really windy place.
Well it’s an island in the sea. [read the article, they have supplementary arrangements]
Another windy place:
// A company linked to American investment guru Warren Buffett says it will break ground on a $200-million, 117.6-megawatt wind farm in southeastern Alberta next year.
In a news release, Calgary-based BHE Canada, a subsidiary of Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Energy, says its Rattlesnake Ridge Wind project will be located southwest of Medicine Hat and will produce enough energy to supply the equivalent of 79,000 homes.
Berkshire Hathaway Energy also owns AltaLink, the regulated transmission company which supplies electricity to more than 85 per cent of the Alberta population. //
If we aren’t quick to the mark on renewables, others will be taking the profit.
If we are quick to be the marks on renewables, others will be taking the profit selling us studies, consultations, components, construction, etc., and leaving us with the losses.
Oh now self-sufficient doesn’t mean they have 24/7 electricity from wind?
What else do they use?
It was -20 early this morning in Calgary. What do we do in the new world when the wind doesn’t blow and the solar panels are covered with snow?
Perhaps we should move to someplace 10-20C warmer? Oh but, can’t do that, catastrophe happens when it’s that warm.
