Manning thought he could change hearts and minds and keep Canada together. Impossible in Canada. Quebec will not budge and Atlantic Canada will not give up their entitlements. So the plan is a steady push forward to take the 4 Western Provinces and maybe the Yukon out of Canada. There is absolutely no logical reason for the West to stay. Personally I would disagree. I would go UDI and begone very fast, Province by Province. No Negotiation No Discussion. There has been years and years of talk and discussion and east of MB will not have it. I voted against Reform going east and tried to make the case for Reform going provincial as well as federal. At the time many of my Reform people thought Canada could be saved.           I am not a supporter of Scheer but do understand the concerted effort by progressives to get rid of him. In
          all likelihood of another quick election Scheer would likely win. Economy is turning down and Turdeau will have to own what he has wrought. IMHO Scheer is lib light and he would benefit. By orchestrating his removal the progressives will likely get a new CPC leader who would chart a more ‘conservative’ course. That would be a easier election fight by branding the new CPC leadership as a move to the right. It is laughable how this likely plays out. It makes no dif to me as I will vote Wexit. I’m done with Canada as constituted. The CPC will face a huge challenge in the Western stronghold as they should.

Once all of these Independence groups in the west start working together, then form a coalition things will move fast. The next phase is finding that spokesman/woman who can forge the union.     2. They are going to fail. Why run candidates at all? The people in charge of the election rules, have a vested interest in keeping things the way they are. Why do you think it costs so much money, and you have to jump through so many hoops to get your name on an official ballot?

      A better strategy would be to tell people to spoil their ballots. If in 102 ridings, 102 MPs or MLAs, or whatever, all got elected, and it was only 20 non-spoiled ballots in each one… THAT would get attention. If the same names had been written in on all of those ballots, then you actually have a different government.

      Any jurisdiction without write in candidates, in not free.

Kenney talking of having a referendum on Equalization is just a strategy to take the temper from the steel. He can end Equalization any day he wants just by with drawing from agreements with Ottawa. By his scams he retains his position. Then becomes the Great Man who sucked the Western Sheep back into the fold for another cycle of floggings and humiliation.       1. It is disgusting. Firing someone (or forcing them to resign) over an off-the-cuff remark is outrageous. I understand that because that awful music is very closely associated with black culture that the kid might have been hurt at the time, but seeking vengeance 10 years later is nasty. This will make coaches very leery of hiring Black players. Who benefits from this? Peters apologized, but his apology was not accepted. Maybe Peters can sue. Surely the law eould have to recognize that his characterization of the music was entirely accurate. It is very unpleasant to listen to.

  25. I coached young people for many years. I am wondering how many times he was asked to not play the type of music that resulted in the coach blowing his top. Of course one of the most frustrating things as a coach is seeing the ability of a player and not being able to successfully motive them and create the correct attitude for success. Obviously the only reason this guy wasn’t a star was racist coaches and a racist hockey system. Somehow I think there is more to the story. Deserved or not ,Peters is finished and will have a hell of a time to get any decent job. ( by the way I did have to make a rule that this type of music , rife with profanity , the N , B and slut word was not allowed)

  26. You gotta think the nhl brokered a settlement with the Flames coach. They wanted this to go away.

    Peters was owed about 6 million according to reports and really what grounds did the Flames have for dismissal? What, he said something 10 years ago while in the employ of another team? The Flames are caught in the middle here but the question remains, why didn’t they know about Peters past behaviour? Did they not exercise due diligence when hiring?

    My guess is he got paid in full. Maybe the Flames paid out the lions share of the contract but I’ll bet there is some nhl money in there as well.

    2. What do you mean by “past behaviour”? He balked at having to listen to shi##y music. He may have been a bit too blunt, but his reaction to the music is perfectly normal. This is not the kind of incident noteworthy enough to go on a person’s personal record. I only read the main first story– may be there is more to it.

    2. I am not sure of the game plan here. Certainly the media is keen to play up the challenges to Scheer’s leadership. Maybe they are afraid of Scheer. He made significant inroads and would do even better in the next election (Certainly Justin is not getting many of his original supporters back.) Getting rid of Scheer would be risky, though. If someone like Peter McKay replaces Scheer, Justin is toast. Libs must know that.

The next time you are having any kind of political discussion with a friend or relative ask them how they can rationalize voting for a party that makes no bones about putting some Canadian workers on the unemployment line . I like a lot of other Canadians have had to put up with the constant whining that comes from queebec but I can honestly say I have never seen an election where one group of so called Canadians actively campaign and support a party or parties that seek to put young Canadian families out of work . The three parties I speak of and the liberal bought and paid for media are destroying Canada , there can be no doubt . I am one really pissed off Canadian …………………………………………..
