This is why I’ve given up being involved in politics. It’s not safe to participate in democracy when one side hates the concept and wants to destroy you.

I personally believe that if I could go back to D-day, and warn the boys of what I’ve seen since since my birthday in the late 40’s, they’d throw their landing craft in reverse, go back to England, and say, ”Let them all go to hell in a hand basket.” Seriously, I do however believe that what they did at D-Day was not in vain, and has served a purpose.
I lost one great uncle in WWI and a cousin in WWII. My Dad served in the Cdn. army as a driving instructor, he never went overseas. Some of my mother’s sisters worked in factories building war material. I never went to war, however I was married for 25 years and then divorced, so I do know the feeling. I was born in the late 40’s and am considered a ”boomer.” I love Canada, and tomorrow morning, I will go the memorial service at our cenotaph and thank those who died for me.
