Imagine being so self-absorbed and self-flattering, so untroubled by normal boundaries, that you don’t anticipate how your own disruptive behaviour will tend to be viewed by the wider public – the people on whom your behaviour is being inflicted. A wider public that for the most part can’t afford to spend days on end indulging in Student Union theatrics.

I wonder if this will give Extinction Rebellion pause. I wonder if they’ll say “Maybe we should quit pissing off the very people we’re trying to persuade?”

On the video, it is interesting to note that **two** people think they have the moral authority to disrupt the lives of hundreds if not thousands (by the effect of one stalled train percolating down the line) of people.
In one of the links, someone from XR posted what it is all about, destroying capitalism. That is why they see no irony in blocking the mode of public transportation these people should most endorse, electric trains.
OTOH, this was in Londonistan, where they elected a jihadist mayor. These commuters are just reaping the whirlwind. This is the kind of thing that happens in a third world city.

RIn the 1980’s … the pro gay butt sex AIDS spreading group GLAAD … was fond of scaling the Golden Gate and SF-Oakland Bay Bridge and unfurling banners during Rush Hour which inevitably snarled and then STOPPED traffic as bridge officials carefully removed the protestors. The backlash from 90% of the SF Gay Area population was swift and severe. NOBODY sided with GLAAD. The group was ostracized and dismissed by both media and public … despite their “protected class” status.
Therefore, I HOPE this “rebellion” glue themselves to anything and everything that will disrupt and annoy REAL citizens lives. Please! Keep interrupting capitalist commerce. And then, SHUT DOWN the Power like PG&E did. Shit! Even Gavin Newsome HAD to criticize PG&E for disrupting so many lives and businesses, because of 90% public outcry and criticism. Keep disrupting our lives. Keep it up, and see what happens.
About class, but slightly OT: Did any one catch Anderson Cooper genuflecting to Joe Biden over Hunter Biden’s Ukraine “employment”. It was appalling. Clearly, Cooper was pandering to the swamp reassuring them that it is not immoral, unethical of criminal to accept favors, such as the employment of their children in fake make work jobs. I’m sure you all realize this is SOP, the norm, in the SWAMP, everyone does it across the board. Talk about your privilege. Then they offer the pretense that the beneficiaries of so called “white privilege” are unemployed white factory workers in Ohio.
When the police stand by and allow protesters (for any cause) to stop people from pursuing legal activities, they send the message that the state sanctions such activities, IE, taking sides with the protesters, IOW flaunting the rule of law. In such events, if the police are not going to remove and arrest such protesters, they should leave the area rather than protect the protesters from the citizens going about their normal lives and doing whatever is necessary to continue to do so. It would never happen in Canada of course because it would be too much like sanctioning self defense which might threaten job security of the unionized doughnut eaters as well as do harm to the progressive model of citizens as helpless, dependent, cattle in perpetual need of the paternal state.
