Spent a few moments reading the comments on the Globe. I doubt they are even aware of how fascist they are sounding. They belittle, denigrate, dismiss, and use nothing but derogatory words to describe their own countrymen, neighbors and citizens. Banning the Rebel, keeping the west voice silent, marginalizing those who don’t vote Liberal, allocation of seats and representation in this country, hiring more Quebecois than all other Canadian provinces combined to occupy government jobs, all point in the same direction, there are people running this country, it’s a big club, and we ain’t in it.

There is a dearth of critical commentary of our dominant Toronto-based media cartel, but we do have Canadaland. The problem is that the writers of this blog hold views to the left of the late Fidel Castro, so it is difficult for the writers to find material to write about. There are so few conservatives writing for the media cartel, and there are so many center-left and far-left journalist dominating the discussion, so what can Canadaland protest against?
The Ezra Levant piece in the G&M was a surprise, since nearly all opinion in the paper is left-wing. The editorials are left-wing, so instead of op-ed columns, readers get I-agree-with-the-editorial columns. Basically Esra Levant was arguing for press freedoms — criticising the Trudeau government for harassing Rebel journalists at government media functions. This was too much for Canadaland. The blog prefers the Fidel Castro approach.
