I mean sure, Castro oppressed the people of Cuba for more than 50 years, he jailed his opponents, banned religious practice for much of his time in office, closed down dissenting media and executed thousands — including gays and lesbians — but look at the schools and those speeches!

If Castro had never been born Cuba would likely have been much better off. Cuba was one of the richest countries in the Western Hemisphere. It didn’t need a revolution. It is way down the wealth list now. Anyone saying how much better off Cuba is now is ignorant, a liar, or an ignorant liar. Mind you 30 years ago Venezuela was one of the wealthiest countries and it did the same thing to itself.
