Most of the coverage of James Mattis’s new book, Call Sign Chaos, co-authored with Bing West, deals with the former defense secretary’s relationship with President Trump. The Atlantic‘s pre-publication interview with Mattis was headlined, “The Man Who Couldn’t Take It Anymore.” The New York Times editorial page ran a column about Mattis called “The Man Trump Wishes He Were.”
 
Both articles establish that Mattis doesn’t have much to say right now, in either the book or in interviews, about President Trump. Neither piece, though, mentions another president about whom Mattis is more than willing to dish. That would be Barack Obama, who was Mattis’s commander in chief when the then–Marine general led Central Command. Mattis’s critique of Obama isn’t just harsh. It’s blistering.

    I respect General Mattis for his service and his sense of duty; as well as his ethics.

    I cannot say that about any media person.

Yes, must of been quite a show being in charge of Central Command and have to help Obama implement irresponsible policies that squandered the American lives lost in Iraq and Afghanistan and promoted ISIS. The only guy that’s probably madder than Mad Dog Mattis is the guy who lead Africa Command (Ham?) and had to witness the stupid war against Libya, and was told to stand down while the embassy in Benghazi was attacked and a US ambassador murdered in ways gays are murdered by Muslims. Thanks Obama!

The Guy who stopped a long term investigation into Hezbollah (I believe), in order to facilitate his surrender to IRAN via a Nuclear arms deal – one in which an actual pallet with some 1-2Billon USD was also simply given away. A UN Socialist puppet perfectly in line & lock step with Merkel, Macron, Soros and all the rest of the Deep State Globalist Elites and A Racebaiter who hired Al Sharpton as his race “adviser”… whatever.

      2. I kind of liked Obama until, during his second inauguration speech to the house in 2012 (?), he took credit for the American oil boom (that was due to fracking). He said something like “Under my Presidency America is drilling for more oil than ever before”. Like he had anything to do with it.

        1. I liked him as well, but then he disparaged small business owners with his infamous “you didn’t build that” comment.

          Unfortunately, during the following federal election, he was probably the better choice. Romney was a lousy Republican candidate.

          I read Michelle Malkin’s
          “Culture of Corruption: Obama and His Team of Tax Cheats, Crooks and Cronies,” and in it, Malkin names names. It’s a great read.

          Statements Barry made about energy bills “necessarily skyrocketing” etc., are minor compared to what he stole from the taxpayers and how well he paid himself.

          (He) Comes out and buys a mansion on the beach on 27 acres in the Vinyard. He is still the man heading the Deep State along with other billionaires. We’ll never hear the end of him.

          He didn’t ‘earn’ it.

          He did for himself, not the American people.

            Yeah, the Obamas were so poor well into their late 30s and 40s with student loans etc still around their necks. They said that their old car had holes in the floor and they could see the ground below.

            I never missed a speech. He even bragged about his poverty.

A Clinton presidency would have moved this along into dangerous territory where the US could/would eventually be supplanted by as the World Superpower by China (which no doubt China is making moves to become). The world will always have a Superpower, and it could be for good or for evil. Now, try to imagine the world with China as The Superpower. I think the Trump administration recognizes this and this is what the long game is behind the tariffs he is currently hitting China with.
