Thunberg garnered global fame as she led a youth movement by skipping school to protest inaction on climate change in her home country of Sweden. Her small protest turned into a global demonstration where thousands of students skipped school to demonstrate on behalf of the planet.
 
Her demonstrations earned her both fame and a nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize.
 
As part of her global campaign, Thunberg decided she would visit the United States to speak with lawmakers and activists about her goals related to protecting the planet. The problem for Thunberg, however, was that flying across the Atlantic typically involves a carbon-producing flight.

    I don’t think that those on here who are being unnecessarily cruel to her are showing much compassion if they also claim to be His followers. Also, her younger sister has been diagnosed so I wouldn’t want to be nasty about their parenting.
    Try it sometime. In fact, I expect there is at least one set of parents or grandparents on here who have an idea what it is like to walk with this syndrome in the family.

    1. Funny how compassionate is always used to describe jesus and yet other adjectives never seem to make it to the list. Ones such as judgemental, vengeful, truthful, etc are always left off the list.

      Jesus would point out their rank hypocrisy, expose their sins, expel a few demons, cure their mental illness. It is compassion yes but it is a brutal, honest compassion that demands one stops sinning. No forgiveness without repentance first and there is no repentance from the green crowd.

  31. The cause of impoverishing western civilization is worth a lot of money to people who don’t mind throwing it at publicity stunts such as this. The cost of this stunt, where she opted to expend around 10 times what an economy return flight might have cost is a perfect metaphor for what she and her handlers are advocating for the type of day to day economics they would have us submit to at gunpoint (via the state).

    Using a child as a prop isn’t a particularly brilliant strategy given the cynicism generated by those that would either question her level of knowledge, digestion of propaganda, or exploitation by ENGOs. Pimping climate hysteria is now likely the favourite and most common activity of the institutional left including more than half of the political class and evident in all political parties. It is the perfect test of moral cowardice for so-called conservatives where the ones that agree with a carbon tax fail.

That means that on average, she will use more of everything … soap water, toilet flushes, packaging, larger shoes and clothing …. all of which will give her a larger than normal carbon footprint.   36. As the father of 3 children with aspergers I recognize the symptoms in the young woman. She is likely quite bright but fixated. Unfortunately she has been fed false information and believes it. Sad that she is being used and sad that her affliction is being attacked by those on my side of the debate. Climate change is very natural. No need for mankind to try to control it.
