Driving the division, broad brushing, and hatred this week has been the liberal media. Whether it’s newspapers amplifying the disgusting rhetoric of people like Beto O’Rourke and Elizabeth Warren or the constant stream of divisive, racially tinged editorials that are being pushed out, there’s no question of their role. The cable news beat has been even worse, with one MSNBC host actually saying that Donald Trump wants there to be mass shootings while another threatened business owners as complicit in white supremacy who donate to the GOP.
I never thought I’d say this during the Trump era because things are always so crazy, but this week was different. A line was crossed by the media and there’s no going back.
Communists have no boundaries and in their hate, will do all they can to destroy individual freedom. Socialists/communists have killed over 100 million people in the 20th century. They want to control every aspect of everyone’s life, that includes the liberal, the NDP, the Greens and conservative lites. I am sick of excess government and we need to reduce all government from the federal, provincial and municipal by 50%. Too many stupid people get to tell intelligent people how to live, sad, but they actually think they are smart, they are as dumb as a bag of rocks. They have squandered the wealth of the nation on foolishness and Canada should have money to burn the country has such wealth. Only fools squander their wealth.

I agree with your sentiment but for one, 50% is too low a number, particularly for the federal government who trip over themselves to buy off voters on local issues far outside their legitimacy. Secondly one could assumed from your argument that it is only a bad thing when “stupid people” tell more “intelligent people” how to live their lives whereas it is immoral when “anyone tells”, through the force of law, “anyone else” doing no harm to others how to live their lives. This is why anti gun control arguments based on crime statistics, practicality, etc are too weak to be effective against the gun control case. I’m alright with capital punishment for anyone committing a crime with a gun because they have done harm to others but it is only after such a crime has been committed is action by the state warranted. Owning a gun, any gun, and using it so as not to do harm to others or public and private property in no way should be considered a crime on its own merits. But I digress.
I made this comment at least a year ago elsewhere. The Rwandan massacre was largely media driven and low tech. The billionaire owners of the MSM are fully complicit and responsible for all the violence so far and will be for any violence in the future. The media is the tail wagging the DNC dog. I did not think we would make it to the midterms without wide scale violence breaking out. The puppetmasters now know Trump will win 2020 if elections are managed to be held…hence the total hysteria in the media. Violence was always the goal whether Hillary or Trump won 2016 but I believe we have a fighting chance with Trump and Donald, if you need to declare Marshall law, you have my permission. I am quite sure he has the military on his side.
I truly believe that the United States will have another Civil War within 2 years. There is no middle ground anymore. I hope that I am wrong, but it is difficult to see how the positions (especially on the Left side) can be walked back or away from. “Fasten your seatbelts, we are in for a “bumpy” ride” (quote from the movie “All About Eve”).

Down here in the US we have a rationalist economic system and a romantic political system.
As long as the romantic political system is firmly attached to the rationalist economic system, things can work out. People will write some folk songs about ridiculous politicians, passionately denounce politicians and generally stir the pot.
When our romantic political system comes completely untethered from out rational economic system, politics itself becomes an agent of destruction. Unbridled passions become the determinant. Raw emotion and mob psychology fueled by completely irrational passions can be very destructive.

I looked up white supremacy one time, and it said something to the effect that white supremacists were people who liked their government to be dominated by people of their own race.
If you think about it, you’ll realize that with the exception of Obama that is what the united States has had relative to a governing body since its inception. Both and the left and the right have participated in this system with success.
However, the reason for this governing body is because people run for office, get voted on by people of all races, and win elections.
So the fact it that the only real supremacy in the United States is that people vote for candidates that they believe in. And if they happen to be one race or another it’s because of the democratic process and has nothing to do with any sort of “supremacy.”
This is what cognitive dissonance looks like. When confronted with contradictory evidence, a healthy brain integrates the information and adapts to account for it, perhaps not always correctly, but usually in some non-violent way. An unhealthy brain dismisses the information and adapts to make the information impossible to exist or be further perceived, even if that means violence and/or destruction. There isn’t really middle ground, though the two types of adaptation have a spectrum.

I worry when I drive through some of the lovely but older areas like Willow Park, Calgary, some of the trees there could crash on a car and kill any random driver at any time. I knew someone who met her demise that way. I also noticed that some properties have a tree stump on the ground where the owners probably paid big bucks to have a potentially dangerous tree cut down by Professionals. Good for them.

There was a tree at a certain place along Elizabeth Avenue in St. John’s NL. The local Jewish community built a synagogue around it. After a generation the synagogue was found to be too large. It was cut in half and one half destroyed.
The tree was not perturbed by all this and continues to flourish.
