    It is a very SPINY tropical plant that thrives in seacoast environments. Fast growing, low, with dense foliage with showy flowers and red fruit. The very first time a Mexican, or Central America woman sits her fat ass onto one of these plants will be her last as she tries to recover from the intense pain. THAT would eliminate all the sitting-around in the planters.

    1. The photos are a VERY accurate representation of downtown LA … lots and lots of Brown people standing/sitting around doing nothing. Nada. Just hanging out between soup kitchen feedings. Worse than an invasion of feral cats carrying a flea infestation. The infestations these people carry are even more deadly.

      I know how I’d get rid of the cats …

  6. Several chollas (I like the nicely named “teddy bear” variety) should work – and they are a native species. There was a kerfuffle several years ago in Toronto about designs preventing loitering by the homeless. They typically consisted of types of spikes or knobs to discourage sleeping. The office building I worked in had nice large river rocks under a ledge which I realized were an effective way of preventing sleeping.

    1. I had one of those “Teddy Bears” from Arizona. Apparently it’s the only cactus with barbed spines, too. I remember a cat discovering it’s “adhesive” properties to it’s front paw. LOL! Couldn’t shake the thing loose. Almost as bad as a Porcupine encounter.
      “Living” barbed wire is another…Ochotilla I think it’s called. Cut it and plant it. That simple. Another Arizona “native” plant. It was used as corral material when barbed wire wasn’t invented, or available. The spines were an inch or two long.

  7. There are some homeless people who can’t help it. They have psychological problems that are debilitating. They should be institutionalized, but legally that’s difficult if they are not obviously violent.

    But how many can help it? How many essentially choose that life?

    I suspect most. Rather than treating them as helpless victims of an oppressive society, maybe we should pressure them to clean up, get a job, and get a permanent home. It’s not politically correct, but it might be best for everyone.

    1. The de-institutionalizing of the mentally ill was IMO one of the worst mistakes inflicted on both the mentally ill and society at large. And we end up dealing with the fallout and institutionalizing them in other ways, in hospitals, rehab facilities, and prisons.

      1. Ryan you are correct. I will add that there is no compassion when it comes to allowing the mentally ill to wander the streets.

    2. I thought it was obvious by now that the people who aggressively demand beer money from decent people trying to get to work are not worth trying to help. They will have done everything in their power over many years to alienate or drive away everyone who ever tried to help them.

      Most suffer from irreversible brain damage caused by chronic alcohol poisoning and malnutrition, not because nobody tried to feed them but because they would rather drink than eat. Holding down a honest job would be impossible. Panhandling, prostitution and petty theft is all they can do to get money for liquor.

      They’re digging their own graves as fast as they can. Only a fool would try to stop them. The only thing anybody who meant them well could really do for them is take them out into the bush and shoot them. They’d be better off, and so would the rest of us.

    These controlled assets set out to immediately create division through the use of a pre_designed misinformation campaign.

    Groups such as ‘Antifa’ were funded and formed to prevent and/or lessen the appeal for ‘regular’ hard working Americans to gather and express non_narrative viewpoints.

    Control of this ‘projected narrative’ depends primarily on their ability to ‘con’ the masses into thinking they are the majority.

    The mindset of most: If the majority of people believe ‘this’, than ‘this’ must be more true than ‘that’ [CIA_CLAS 1-99_56_Human_Psych_&_Emotional_Distress_IIED].

    Without public support – they are powerless.

    The comfort of the homeless is more important than the businesses and citizens.

  12. The Oh so Liberals emptied the nuthouses and threw the nutcases on the streets. Then they hand them free needles and safe injection sites because they are Oh so Liberal. How much liberal benevolence can people take before they are dead?

  13. Where I live, a northern Canadian city, a local business had to block the sidewalks along the sides of their building because of the drunks. The last straw was a worker being attacked in a case of drunken mistaken identity.
