The accusations of Huawei stealing trade secrets from across the world are hitting a fever pitch, thanks to a new Wall Street Journal expose that blows open accusations of theft and stealing of trade secrets. The article includes insights from lawsuits, Huawei’s competitors and former employees. Allegations run the gamut against the company: from its business practices, to the science behind its 5G, all the way down to copying the text it used in its user manuals. […]
The United States is finally following in the footsteps of places like Australia and putting pressure on the company out of concern for national security. Just last week, the Trump administration unveiled measures to help cut Huawei off from American suppliers and stop it from doing business in the United States. The administration believes that the company takes its orders directly from Beijing and that its standing as the top telecom company in the world makes it a powerful tool for China’s authoritarian government.
Huawei writes the whole thing off as one big misunderstanding and says that it complies with laws in global markets: “We respect the integrity of intellectual property rights—for our own business, as well as peer, partner and competitor companies,” the company said.

“We respect the integrity of intellectual property rights”.
Like our prime minister, Huawei experiences integrity differently.
Time for Huawei to become no way.
Does anyone posting here trust the integrity of any social media platform? I am not being silly here, I trust none even tough I use them daily.
During the Brezhnev Stagnation in the Soviet Union, any technological innovation was replaced with stealing and copying western electronics.
The CHICOMs are no different.
Because you can’t have individual thinkers under a society that prizes conformity.
EXACTLY.
it is the most central core contradiction about tyranny and dictatorships.
when NO ONE is allowed to ‘think freely’ because of political correctness, it ALSO smothers that vital fisrt step in innovation.
plus, NO INCENTIVE anyway when the likes of TURDoo 2.0′ favorite dicpotatoship
garners ALL the $ benefit.
Definitely a thing you will not see on the CBC-HNIC (HuaweiNight In Canada)!
Inc, thank you for your wisecrack, “Huawei Night in Canada”. This brightens my Monday morning.
What has REALLY baked my noodle, is the fact that virtually EVERYONE … on both sides of the political spectrum have endorsed Trump’s hard line on RED China. It’s almost as EVERYONE has known what an absurd trade relationship we’ve suffered for decades … but lacked the scrotum to even meekly say so.
The WORST I’ve heard in response is that some soybean farmers are looking for new customers. And yet, Trump has offered to cover their losses. Sorry, we will ALL share in some temporary financial discomfort … as cheap-ass manufacturing shifts to VietNam, Malaysia, etc.
Trump has the STONES to do what NEEDS to be done. Meanwhile, a fossilized Nanci Pelosi and her Travelling Show of Political Comedy Theatre continue to “debate” … Impeachment or the 25th Amendment … and whether someone spliced video tape of her Alzheimer’s moments into a humorous stuttering, spittling, display of cognitive loss.
And BTW … I am an admirer of Koetsu Japanese handmade phono cartridges. They are very expensive and their sound and beauty is equal to the price.

However, Koetsu as with many other high end Western products are long term victims of Chinese Gray Market and Black Market knock-offs.

Yep, the Chinese are really good copiers. Not such good designers and innovators … but really good at reverse engineering and replication. Same thing with high end Swiss watches … there are thousands of very very accurate-looking and feeling RED Chinese FAKES for sale across the world.
True story. As a teenager I once bought a knock off Rolex watch from a Chinese vendor on Canal Street in NYC for $12. I no sooner got a couple blocks away to the subway station and the damn watch face fell off. My friends had a hearty laugh at my expense.
You’re Not alone…..lol.
Just what are you saying about yourself?
I suspect that the Chicoms are in the mid-late Khrushchev/early Brezhnev era of their evolution. In the mid-sixties-early 1970s, the Soviets were going all out in projecting an illusion of their power, when in truth, their strength was starting to become highly questionable, especially as it became clear that the “Brezhnev Stagnation” was setting in.
One day we will learn the truth about the Chicom’s true strength, and I doubt it will be in their favor.
Not everyone:
“Senior Obama Cyber Official Lobbying for China”

The Chicoms care about the Chicoms. Wow-way is only the most recent example. Patent laws are about as strong in that country as human rights. The Turd admires them because he also believes he’s entitled to steal the wealth of others.
There is nothing new about the behavior of the Chinese communist run business.
Yeah, Huawei is optically and corporately run as a private enterprise, the catch is that it is supervised by the Chinese communists to maximize their daily intensified run for dominating the rest of the world.
Remember years ago when the fruit fly guy said that it was curious that the Asians could not come up with any basic new technology though they were pretty good at improvements.
If anybody can remember also in recent times when a pilot flew one of the American jets to China and the joke was that how many of them anybody would want, they will supply.
As per the article, there is nothing new about them stealing technology, the international merchants are just as happy to give them a hand, not unlike when the Chinese communist company took over a Canadian company:
“Shareholders of Canadian oil firm Nexen voted Thursday to favor a $15.1-billion takeover that would place the company into the hands of the Chinese state-owned CNOOC (China National Offshore Oil Corporation) …..”
No mention that it was the communists taking over Canadian industry.
You may remember there were many of those, right here on SDA, that were nothing but happy to sell their shares for good profit. It was supported by the media cartel. Any, ever so light opposition was generated as opposition to then PM Harper, not to the takeover.
There was this guy that hardly anybody knows today thanks to ignorance of history, Nikita Khrushchev. The guy said that they, the communists won’t need to lift a finger to destroy the free democracies, they will do it all by themselves. Remembering from political indoctrination in the 60’s in a socialist country run by communists, the communist theory was and is that the natural progression to communism is in fact natural. It is becoming more obvious every day that they knew and know whereof they were speaking.
You decide it they are wrong.
Why are we trading with these people?
OK, because they have money and we have given all our money away, DUH.
I’d like to point out that Elections Alberta used Huawei technology for the vote anywhere ballots during the recent provincial election. Why this isn’t a scandal I don’t know.
https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2019/05/former_top_mi6_spy_reveals_huawei_99_owned_by_china_communist_union.htmldi
The wording on the link is wrong. Sir Richard Dearlove isn’t just a top MI6 spy. He was the head of MI6. And he says Huawei is 99% owned by the Chicom.
I am not surprised. Every Chinese “corporation” is owned by the Chicom if you dig deep enough. They just have front men who play the part of capitalist owners, where in reality there ain’t no such animal in a Communist country. Please realize, every Communist country exploits its poor to favor a few party cadre, from Russia to Venezuela. If you sink the assets of a one billion people country into several hundred, if that, “companies”, you can have very rich companies indeed who can low ball any truly private enterprise, no matter how rich.
Reminds me of when the Chinese gov’t came to Calgary to learn about directional drilling. We gave the ‘white hat’ award and a whole host of dinner parties in a subvert hope they’d hire Calgary/Canadian firms to go explore over there.
We showed them the technology, the where with all to do directional drilling, to which they were very pleased at our openness. Great platitudes were spoken, they wrote/copied everything down and went back and built their own…
I never laughed so hard, because in reality, I didn’t want to cry at our stupidness…
I ran an organization that developed software for telcos. The software managed a telcos equipment. We had to reverse engineer such equipment including Huawei to manage it.
Huawei’s early equipment was exact copies of Cisco.
Later equipment was different and contained mechanisms for Huawei to take control of the equipment and eavesdrop on data.
When asked why this facility was added they either did not respond or pretended they could not speak English.
Huawei is not a company in the traditional sense of the word rather it is a cross between a Chinese intelligence service and a bunch of pirates.
