    But why stop there? Washington thwarts prosperity through more than the tax code. The present monetary system is an abysmal failure by any objective measure. As the former chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, I can say with firsthand experience that it is not the people of the Fed, but the actual structure, that needs reform. Our liberty and prosperity depend on it.

    Think of economic growth as the result of two gears operating together—low tax rates and sound money. When both gears are fully engaged, the economy moves forward. When the gears become disengaged, the middle class suffers. That’s why, as convinced as I am of the power of the 9-9-9 concept, we need sound money to go with it.

    Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution grants power to Congress “to coin Money, [and] regulate the Value thereof.” But for the last 40 years in Washington, regulate has meant manipulate, with the Federal Reserve raising and lowering interest rates and buying and selling assets at its own discretion. All of this manipulates the value of the dollar. We regulate time by making sure an hour is always a fixed quantity of minutes and a foot is always a fixed quantity of inches. The more complex a society, the more it depends on fixed and rigorously reliable standards. A dollar should be defined—as it was prior to 1971 under the postwar Bretton Woods system—as a fixed quantity of gold.

    However imperfect a gold standard may be, it remains the best among all alternatives. The empirical data for both the classical gold standard, which I favor—and even the flawed “gold-exchange” standard, as we had under the Bretton Woods system—are impressive. Economic growth was stronger, unemployment rates lower, the price level more stable, and recessions less frequent and less severe than under the present system.

    I realize the Washington establishment goes ballistic at this suggestion. Gold is kryptonite to big-spending politicians. It is to the moochers and looters in government what sunlight and garlic are to vampires. The American people are another story. Nearly half (44%) support a return to a gold standard, according to an October 2011 Rasmussen Report. That support soars to 57% when respondents know it will “dramatically reduce the powers of bankers and the political class to steer the economy.”

    We told you this was coming. We warned you it would happen. We were not crying wolf. We were telling you the truth. And now it is here, as a headline announces: “Canadian tribunal fines Bill Whatcott $55,000 for expressing Christian views on ‘transgenderism.’” In other words, Whatcott called a biological male (who identifies as a female) a “biological male.” That was his crime.

    What a miscarriage of justice. What an assault of freedom of speech and expression.

    John Carpay, president of the Justice Center for Constitutional Freedom, defended Whatcott, noting in protest that, “The Supreme Court of Canada has long held that freedom of expression is the lifeblood of democracy.” But not when it crosses the lines of transgender activism. Freedom halts there.

    Carpay added, “Society is full of people with diverse views and the Tribunal’s decision undermines the foundational principles of the free society and jeopardizes the health of Canada’s democracy.”

    Silencing Opposition
    Precisely so. But, as I have stated often, this was always the end-goal of radical LGBT activism: the opposition must be silenced. (And until it is legally silenced, it must be socially shamed.)

In the 1970s, the “List of dramatic television series with LGBT characters” indicates one show had a gay character. By the 2010s, 364 shows had LGBT characters.       I rarely come across any gay people here in Alberta so the “modern family” of Hollywood doesn’t seem to match my reality. Giving script writers the benefit of the doubt one could assume that California must have a high percentage of gay people. I checked the demographics for California and only 4.8% self identify as LGB or T. The highest percentage in the US was in the District of Columbia at 8..6%. Lobbyists in Washington?

  5. SNC-Lavalin: The Tip of an Enormous “Deep State” Iceberg. Attack on the Rule of Law in Canada

    The gyrations of SNC-Lavalin to have a law passed (obscurely in a Liberal “Omnibus” Bill in 2018) that permits it (and giant firms like it) to write “deferred prosecution agreements” (in what is called a “remediation regime”) may be seen as nothing more than another private/corporate attack on the Rule of Law … supported by the present Canadian (Liberal) government in power.

    That government, I suggest, is acknowledging the growing reality of A Regime For The Very Rich Outside The Law … and a law for us, the unimportant others. The move should be seen, I suggest, as a full-scale attack on The Rule of Law in Canada.

    In briefest words: the kinds of agreement (already at work in some other Western nations) permit wrong-doers to escape criminal conviction by paying large sums of money and “repenting” their sins!!! (Remember that Fraud Charges may normally occur in such matters, pointing to fairly long jail sentences for individuals, real people involved in the criminal charges normally set in motion.) The Remediation Regime works to erase that possibility completely … so that individuals are never guilty of criminal acts!

    Might the process be seen as the bribery of governments by ‘wink-wink-nudge-nudge’‘friends’ who – anyway (as with SNC-Lavalin) give large sums to the Party that has become the government in power? Might the process be seen as the actual codification of the separation of powerful (Deep State) organizations from the Rule of Law in national jurisdictions? The answer is, probably, “YES”.

    Canadians should observe the huge consideration that was given to SNC-Lavalin through the whole process. The Corporation sought and received dozens and dozens of meetings [“more than 50 times”, Globe and Mail, A-11, Mar.1, 2019] with MP’s, cabinet ministers … over months and months to – in effect – move huge Private Corporations outside The Rule of Law while claiming they are merely assisting in a change in the application of The Rule of Law.

    And then … And then … SNC–Lavalin appears to have used more lobbyist meetings in order to have Liberal ‘sympathizers’ (including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau) pressure the Attorney General of Canada to impose a deferred prosecution agreement against the decision of the Prosecutor’s Office.

    If huge bribes are necessary to get contracts in some foreign countries which act outside The Rule of Law, then … SNC-Lavalin and the Liberal Party of Canada seem to be saying … ‘don’t work to bring those countries under The Rule of Law. Instead, degrade Canada to their level of criminal behaviour as the normal state of “doing business”’.

    That is a fact of present government (and Deep State criminal influence) in the Western World that must be stopped in its tracks.

  6. Can anyone point me to an article that was posted a while back about Canadian firearms laws and policies? As I recall it, zoolander made some false statements that it was not necessary to provide proof of licence when purchasing a firearm. Perhaps true from a literal reading of the act but certainly a lie in practical terms. Shortly after, a paragraph on a govt site which outlined the actual policy was disappeared presumably to bolster dipshit’s position. I’d like to have it as I am starting to gather concrete evidence for conversations with liberal friends.

At one point I started a Word document and left it on my desktop so that I could jot down all of the lies, blunders etc. . I regret now that I ended up dropping it when the list got too long and the frustration grew!

    2. Quite true. Years ago my mother-in-law (a teacher) claimed unions would undermine professionalism for teachers. My (then) husband and I argued strongly in favour of the unions, seeing them as a way to increase pay, benefits, etc. for teachers. Years later, I see she was exactly right. Teachers have become constrained by unions and many feel they are controlled by bureaucrats– they are. Unions protect bad teaching. Young people never pay attention their elders. As a result, they continue to make big mistakes (e.g.. Green New Deal) that will be difficult to correct if implemented. And Pelosi wants voting for 16- year olds!

      A short story: I was in NYC a few years back at a baseball game. The Yanks were playing the Rays. I was sitting out in the left field bleachers with the locals. This is a tough crowd. A TB player parked one into the stands close to where I was sitting. It was caught by a Yanks fan who immediately threw the ball back onto the field (that’s what the NY fans do when an opposing team hits a home run in Yankee Stadium). Sitting a few rows in front of me was a TB fan. He jumped to his feet when the home run was hit gesticulating to the crowd like Don Cherry used to do when he coached. A leather lunged Bronx’r close to him yelled out, “sit down homo”……the place erupted in laughter.

      In Canada that would be a hate crime.

He also explained that Doug Ford is evil because he is shutting down drug injection sites and blamed all Conservative parties across the country for killing drug addicts.
