And if you’re a scientist who’s considered politically unreliable, who believes politically incorrect things, you’re not going to get the funding. You’re not going to get journals to publish your articles. You’re not going to get positions in universities, which are universally controlled by leftists. Notley has just appointed an enemy of the oil industry to oversee and regulate the oil industry in Alberta. He worked for an organization that wants to destroy oil field production and calls the oil fields the tar sands. The organization receives millions of dollars from the Tide Foundation.
The Climate Change ideology has always been about the power, the wealth, and the control and it will always be about the the power, the wealth, and the control.
If that’s all it were, then that would be one thing, but it isn’t.
It’s because government has become deeply invested in it. The Climate Change ideology has become a cash cow for governments.
The BC government, for example, requires that its citizens pay a carbon tax on their natural gas usage. That carbon tax costs more than the actual cost of the gas used (approx. 112% of the cost of the natural gas used).
Thus, the Climate Change ideology is imposed by government and its “offerings” all come off the backs of citizens (as in forced labour, as in slavery).
The interesting part of this whole Climate Change ideology is that forgiveness never comes. Indeed, in BC, the carbon tax on natural gas usage started back in late 2008 at 50% of the cost of the natural gas used. Today it is 112% and nothing will stop that tax rate from rising.

The “Forgiveness never comes” comment is succinct and to the point. If it weren’t Climate Change, then it would be another cause because there is no end to the problems real and imagined that could be solved by a third party. But here’s the trick: unless I correctly identify and tackle the root cause of any problem and unless I take personal ownership of that problem, I cannot solve the problem, nor can anyone else. There are real problems to be solved (unlike Climate Change) like sewage from Victoria being pumped untreated into the waters off Vancouver Island. That same problem exists with Montreal. Real solutions exist for those kinds of problems and yet, year after year, decade after decade, those problems continue unabated and unresolved.
Until Climate Change can correctly predict an event, let’s be generous, a year out, they have not found the root cause and I will not support flailing away without a real and demonstrable root cause coupled with bad scientific theory. But these sewage issues can be solved and if the environmentalists really cared, they would tackle them first.

Hard assets will see you through if they are productive assets. E.g. Not a big luxurious house, but a cheap to run, simple to repair dwelling to shelter you at the end of a hard day’s labour in your vegetable plots. Animals, not pets – a dog that hunts, a cat that keeps vermin down, animals that produce food and/or can be food. Vehicles: a good, basic bicycle that you can use to save precious fuel for motorised transport. Learn to paddle, so you can fish and hunt from a canoe. Move away from the cities, or at least scout a few bolt-holes, cache stuff there, and have more than one travel route and plan that you have rehearsed.
